Was very looking forward in trying out this place due its good rating. Service is excellent & the vibe is nice. However, the food is overrated. Taste is OK like any regular Italian place, nothing special. In my opinion, the price vs portion for antipasta is way overpriced. For the steak, unfortunate only from 1kg order.

It is difficult to write a review about Vino and Friends. All the people working there are your friends including the owner. The food is tasty. Price compared to quality and service is not expensive. You enjoy a great meal with excellent service for an affordable price. All fresh. Loccated is in the best place in Maastricht. A must visit restaurant.

Food was great, just the steak was missing flavour. Service was very good. Have some interesting wines and cold cut meat. The design of the restaurant is very nice. Just one thing, we were sitting at the back in the corner of 2 big windows and it was cold there, seems to be some draft. Could not spoil the evening though, will return.

Mega Abend mit dem so ziemlich bestem Menu was es je gab. Am Ende nach 5 Stunden lecker Essen und jeder Menge sehr gut ausgesuchten weißem Wein war ein interessanter Abend vorbei. Tolles Team und super auf Zack die Mitarbeiter. Beste Weine mitgenommen und schöne Erinnerungen. Bis sicher bald wieder mal in Maastricht. Grüße aus Berlin

This one was recommended to me as a place you need to go, so I gave it a try. No reservation up-front, but as we were just 2, they were able to find a nice place. The "modular" 4 course menue offers a nice selection of dishes to customise your own experience. A bit of everything to choose from (meat, fish, vegetarian). A set of 4 starters is an impressive start. Beef carpaccio was super smooth and above all I loved the taste of "carrot suffle". The first main was home made pasta seasoned with fresh salmon. Well balanced taste so that salmon did not dominate the dish. The second main was sliced beef steak. The did not ask how done so I got medium (on a bit rare side) done. Smooth, tasty and just sightly seasoned. Could be a bit warmer when served. All accompanied with perfect Rosso di Montalcino. We have skipped the desert and finalised with expresso. I should give you 4 due to a bit cold steak but overal excellent and balanced taste and very friendly and communicative service prevailed for all 5 stars.

Nice dishes, they really try to create an unique taste and the dishes are reasonable. Wine seems to be good and desserts are very good. Great atmosphere, very helpful and friendly staff.

Awesome and entertaining wait staff and amazing food.

Few weeks ago we joined their special Tuscany night. They charged 75 euros for a menu way below average (in flavour and quality). I lived in Italy for many years, and that is not what Italian food tastes or looks like. Pappa al pomodoro had peas in it, was too dry (wrong proportion of bread and tomato) but the flavour was okay. The tartar had an awful texture and very unpleasant to eat. They used truffle oil, which is known to be a tourist trap product in Italy. They served pasta with ragu of eildboar. They forced a very dry ragu inside a ravioli and compensated such dryness by half a liter of oil on top! The next dish was steak, we each got maximum 50 grams of meat and it was way overcooked and dry. The desert was okay, sweet wine and biscuits. Overall, I would never recommend it to anyone!

Very nice restaurant with plenty of Italian delicacies to discover. Everything had a little special twist. The wine menu is phenomenal and you can get everything from reasonable priced wines to super expensive and rare ones. You can even buy them from the shop of the restaurant. The deco is clearly all about wine and gives it a very cosy atmosphere. The waiters are super attentive, knowledgeable and fun too and make it a whole experience. Got to reserve a table.

Nice and welcoming place but, as in the worst "tradition", dishes served in "alternating phases": while there are those who eat, there are those who wait. The staff themselves are nice, but not always "attentive". You are kind to the customer who smiles at you, but you have to be even more so with those who are more demanding. Excellent wine, but food does not always live up to expectations. In short, it could have been better! :)

Great tasting food and ambiance. We were a large group and serving took some time, but it gave us longer to talk and catch up!

Fantastic place! Warm, attentive, friendly servers. The owner and his colleagues (and family) love their job and you can feel that. The food was wonderful, tasty, just right and in combination with the wines we agreed this was a five star experience. Their son showed us the wine cellar which made it more special and they have a wine shop as well. The location is very good, we would love to return on a warmer day to experience their outdoor dining area. We will be back, this was a really nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. (And great food and wines)

We enjoyed an incredible 7-course dinner. Every single thing we ate was prepared to perfection and looked amazing, compliments to the chef. Our server was Italian and awesome. He knew all the best wine recommendations (some of the ones we had weren't even on the menu, and boy lemme tell ya that they got a MENU. It was a literal book!!!) Even if you don't care for the food, despise amazing service, and hate fine dining as a concept, you could still enjoy looking through their little wineshop. It was an amazing experience, you should definitely check it out :).

A dinner at the Wine&Friends restaurant, a very nice and well-kept location, the dining room staff is really top, Alex served us, an Italian guy, really nice and competent, attentive to the customers' needs, you can breathe a convivial and fun, the food of excellent quality and finally a real Italian food, the wine superlative. Everything was wonderful from start to finish of the meal. The landlady, Mrs. Anka, who speaks Italian very well, makes you feel at home. A real big thank you to everyone.

Very normal food for the price. Risotto nearly inedible… grainy and chewy. I suggest they travel to Madrid and go to Ten con Ten and see what a risotto should taste like. Especially if they want to charge the prices they do. With the quality of restaurants in Maastricht I wouldn’t need to go back.

We had the 2-course surprise lunch menu - Delicious italian cuisine and great wine selection. Friendly people and very nice ambiance. Make sure to book in advance, especially for dinner!
