I would have given Brandsøn a five-star review on the basis of multiple visits over the past few months, however, our visit last week merited a two- or three-star review at best, ending up almost a disaster in terms of overall experience. All three of us had the fish, which was overcooked, but, worse, served in a dish for everyone to take a piece without any serving spoons or, indeed, without anyone asking whether we needed help. After waiting for a few minutes, I got up and brought some spoons to serve this, and the mousseline potatoes, the asparagus, and the beans myself. Not quite sure how they expected us to split these things unless they expected us to all put our spoons and forks in the tiny pots accompanying the main. Wines proposed for dishes were irrelevant (even red was proposed for the fish), so we did the best we could ourselves in terms of selection; for starters bisque was not up to scratch, whereas blinis were overcooked and cold -no comparison to the way the same thing was served less than ten days ago- but the worse elements for us was the cocktails. We pick Brandsøn over other places, exactly because we can have a nice cocktail and have relaxed evenings. In this instance, I specifically asked for what I had the week before, explaining it was light and creamy and not in the menu, to be served with a strong, coffee cocktail which drilled my stomach and was very much on the menu. Upon discussion and asking for any other cocktail of something creamy, we were told that only options were the ones in the menu -hardly ten cocktails- and when we explained that we always had them make some for us we were told that 'this has recently changed'. Recently must have been very recently. As in the last 4-5 days since our last visit! Intentions were perhaps good, not quite sure what happened,. but a rather disappointing experience this time...

It was delicious, our table was very nice for 8 people, the service was perfect !! We love it !

Great atmosphere, very nice service & delicious food

The food was delicious, fresh and the products were handled with care. Portion size was good. The ambiance is amazing, very stylish interior. The only point of criticism was the service, our waitress didn’t know what ‘wine pairing’ was when asked for, and she was a little stressed. Apart from that, she was very kind. We had a great night! Would definitely recommend!

Great food, not suitable for kids (even during lunch). Kitchen is not equipped/staffed/willing to make something for kids of 9-11 old. I love the food, wife as well, but we have two kids...so only 4 stars.

Been here for the first time and the experience overall was as a proper fine dinning. The food was great, I choose a 3 course menu - Beef tartar was excellent. The service was also impeccable. Definitely reccomend 👌

Tolle Umgebung und nette Aussicht. Das Essen war wirklich toll angerichtet und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis angemessen für das was man bekommt. Auch der Service war sehr aufmerksam und bemüht. Werden auf jedenfall wieder kommen :)

Excellent service. We needed to leave early because of theater, and staff were most helpful in getting food on the table as per our schedule. We had yellowtail, which was lovely if a touch salty. The Paella with arroz negra was excellent. Lovely mix of sea food that made this an interesting and worthwhile culinary departure from the usual lameness of paella in other places.

Sometimes this happens! Searching for, missing out, and yet this restaurant had it all… while visiting maastricht. We just bumped into it.. beyond all our expectations, the food was amazing, friendly staff and even the owner took time to have a little conversation. This was an zero to none experience.. and yes we will be back! (To the lovely lady who serviced us l) we had a lovely time at Brandsøn! Thx to all!

Dear , because of your request here are some points : rice way too much coocked and paella was not warm , tournedos steack not like asked and also quite cold . Further as prices are quite high, I would say that price value is not fair, 10 to 15 % too high . Requested white wine was also not on stock, of course can happen no worry, but we had too chose anorher of course more expensive…. I took also a bubbel wine as aperitif and quantity in glas was really at the lowest possible. I am sure these are points to improve, all the best

Excellent restaurant, we've been here many times before and the quality is always very good. The presentation is amazing. The flavours are great as are the textures/combinations! Definitely 8,5-9 out of 10. They are a bit more expensive, but definitely worth it. Staff is also very friendly. Ordering tea/coffee after dinner is a treat as you get some nice bonbons!

Brilliant food, salmon starter was delicious and the asparagus main course was one of the better asparagus dishes I’ve had. Wine recommendations was excellent and the service was impeccable.

I arrived at about. 7:30 on a Thursday and about half the terrace was full. I reviewed the menu and asked for a table for one. I was put inside at the high bar tables. The only person seated at the bar. And with a view of 4 or 5 empty tables along the side. I was almost immediately handed a menu for drinks and lunch served until 4pm. I ordered a drink and she was very nice in recommending a change to make it better. That's as good as it gets. I was never spoken to or acknowledged again. I was not given a dinner menu with food I could actually order. I wasn't asked if I would like anything else. After 30 minutes I got up to ask for the bill because despite constantly passing me, to get to the bar or kitchen I was not even looked at. I asked for the bill and the waitress told me to wait a minute and never came back. The tables outside were still empty. Eventually I paid and went elsewhere. Maybe the food is good. Maybe it's not. I couldn't tell you because I wasn't served.

Interesting concept, down side: expensive,you get very little for the money when it comes to snacks. We ordered "4 kazen" and we got literally 4 very small pieces of 4 sorts of cheese. I first thought it was a prank when they brought to the table. But unfortunately it was not a joke. One more thing was the long wait to be served.

Food and wine pairing where great. Service was OK but made a big mistake. One of the guests on our table is allergic to peanuts. This was already mentioned during the reservation. Both the amuse-bouche and the sweets that where served with the coffee contained peanuts! Luckily we discovered this in time else the dinner would have ended in hospital. If you have a food allergy, don't eat at Brandsøn.
