Great location, friendly staff. The room and the bathroom were spacious and nice but it was hard to get the room warmed up.

Excellent location and nice room. I had an issue with booking the wrong date through a third party and the manager was very helpful to offer a refund the following week. If it is cold outside make sure to turn the heater on when you get in the room, as it takes a while to warm up.

Room are OK. More than enough comfort for the price. It could use a bit more maintenance here and there. Paint on sealing was coming off, lamps were broken and wallboards were coming loose. Location is excellent and so is the staff.

A Stay at Boutique Hotel Sint Jacob - Unmet Expectations in a Great Location I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Boutique Hotel Sint Jacob in Maastricht, Holland. While the hotel's location is undoubtedly attractive, my overall experience fell significantly short of expectations, leading me to reconsider future visits. The hotel sits nestled in a beautiful part of the city; however, getting there was a challenge. Even with the help of Google Maps, the navigation could have been more straightforward, and the hotel could provide no assistance in this regard. This, coupled with a lack of disabled access, severely hampers the hotel's accessibility, which was a significant disappointment. Another challenge was the absence of an on-site staff at this hotel, managed by a company that operates two properties. If you need any help, guests must go to the other hotel. Moreover, there was no welcoming staff upon arrival, which detracted from the overall guest experience. The hotel employs a sophisticated phone-based system for door access. While innovative, it caused trouble when my brother accidentally left his phone inside the room. Instead of receiving immediate assistance, he had to travel to the other hotel to fetch a key card. This inconvenience could have been easily avoided with better on-site service. Upon entering the room, we found trash in the bin, signaling a lapse in cleaning. A towel with a hole in it and a showerhead that wouldn't stay put added to the list of room-related issues. The poor quality of the internet within the room further diminished the experience. The hotel's breakfast service could have been more organized despite having a team of three people. The eggs were poorly cooked, and the silverware was old and stained, which made the meal less enjoyable. In summary, while Boutique Hotel Sint Jacob boasts a fantastic location, several areas need immediate attention. From accessibility to staff availability, cleanliness, maintenance, and food service, these elements currently detract from what could be a wonderful stay. Considering the variety of other nearby hotels, a better hospitality experience might be found elsewhere.

Very nice boutique hotel. Great service. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are newly renovated. Good location near the town centre but still very quiet for sleeping.

Very bad experience from the quality of the bed Matress and pillows that are very low quality, very high price as I paid €600 for 3 nights for nothing. No tissues box in the room , I came to Maastricht for business so I expected to have breakfast as normal people at 7am , unfortunately the breakfast starts at 8am and no receptionist before 8am . Very bad experience never again even for free

We had a two night stay in this hotel. I could get a glimpse from the cathedral from my bed. Spacious bathroom but rather unpractical/small shower cabine. Refrigerator comes in handy but is rather small (just to take in mind). Especially with all restaurants closed in the city as well as in the hotel (only breakfast). Tv should actually be larger, this is at most a model from the year 1999!? Ps. not sure what to think about the cleaner on the day after our arrival. Because it was only two nights we didn’t think it necessary. But I guess it was a kind gesture anyways. Unfortunately they forgot to dust behind the refrigerator (found it while looking for the button to turn it higher).

The hotel has rooms that have very little light, so they are dark and bad sound proofing as you can hear everything in the hotel, including in the morning, as we were woken up. The customer service was very disappointing. We do not recommend this hotel.

This hotel sells itself for what it is not. It is not a boutique hotel. The service is poor and the rooms, although they have a pretty decor, they are not at ‘boutique’ standards. It’s an okay hotel which would do better if it didn’t name itself ‘boutique’ to lure people in.

The staff is friendly, and the location is great, however the hotel is very old. There are no elevators and the stairs are very steep. Not recommended for old people. Also the rooms had very old furniture and the smell of humidity is very strong.

There is no counter to check in/out. The guest must do this himself via a computer screen. The personel on site are the housekeeping staff/cook. These people were very friendly. The room keys are digitally sent to your Whatsapp. My visit was for 2 nights, and after the 1st day, my key was no longer valid. Standing outside the locked hotel, I called the number for reception (which is located at a different hotel). A new digitaal key was immediately sent. This whole scenario caused a bit of stress......luggage was still inside the hotel in preparation for the second night. There is no locked area at this hotel in order to store your baggage while you go to explore the city. If you wish to securely stow your baggage, then you must walk 5 minutes to the 2nd hotel/property. The mattrass was not comfortable. The curtains and the walls were not clean in the room. The rest of the hotel was very clean, and the location was optimal.
