Lovely café in the middle of a bookstore in a church - a must visit in Maastricht! We enjoyed the coffee and also the brownie was very tasty. Prices are a little bit higher but it is definitely something different sitting in a church :)

Way too expensive! No service beyond the counter and every addition is extra pay instead of service. Cleaning the tables doesn't seem to be a huge priority. Other than that it's fine.

The Coffee and the cake is good but the highlight here is the building. You have a bookstore and a café together in an old cathedral. My first morning in Maastricht and I totally enjoy this atmosphere.

I have to say I had quite high expectations after reading all the reviews. The interior itself is stunning, however I had some reservations about the café. The coffee was good but I noticed there were MICE running around the café, the staff seemed completely unbothered by this and just said it was normal. 😅 And for this reason I would probably only come back to buy a book…

I drank coffee here with my cousin, and man it was good. There barista was very friendly and you could see that he was very experienced in making good coffee. They have a good selection of coffee and pastries here. I had a brownie with a 'Coffeelovers Cappuccino'. This cappuccino had an extra shot of espresso in it which made it taste really well. To conclude (tl;dr): Great coffee, great pastries, and great service. Would totally come back here.

The coffee taste is so lovely and you got a little snack with it. The atmosphere was so different because it's inside a church and behind the bookstore!

In The Netherlands it is difficult to find vegan options. This cafe is open till 21 oclock and offer many options of milk (soya, oat, almond, coconut) and they even offer vegan whipped cream. Love this place. It is in the library and looking soo cool! 😊 good prices

This coffee place is connected to a large book store. You can grab a book and a coffee and sit inside a church. The church has been turned into the coffee shop/book shop.

Nice place to sit at with the smell of fresh coffee and new books from the shelves nearby. Place for books and coffee lovers!

We came here today whilst visiting lovely Maastricht. The coffee wasn't bad at all but unfortunately not on the same level as KOFFIE (Joost en Maartje). One of us tried to send an email on a laptop and was immediately confronted by an unfriendly member of staff who loudly told us that laptops are banned, pointing out a sticker on the table (which was entirely covered by the sugar container) and a small sign on a different table (which 1. we didn't see and 2. even if we had, we would have assumed that the message applied to that particular table). Perhaps a 1 hour laptop policy would be an idea, which works well in other cafes across the EU. Are books and phones being banned also? Because many people stay for hours with them. Remember If you're working in hospitality, learn how to smile and be approachable. The moody look doesn't serve businesses well in the long term (speaking as someone who's run one for 13 years). The atmosphere and vibe isn't quite as impressive as it looks on photos, as other reviews have mentioned. Unfortunately I can't highly recommend.

Good coffee, misleading working hours. Was unable to buy a coffee at 5:54 pm. So you might be “closing” at 6, but you stop working earlier. Upd: okay, so on November 7th they were closed at 17:44. Who cares about those business hours anyway, right? I don’t think I’ll be coming here again. Waste of my time.

Had a cuppachino and a chai tea here and the service was really good, friendly staff. At the time of my visit I had to scan QR code to sit down at the table but you can also take your coffee to go. It was near closing time (18:00) so there wasn't much food left, but we had a oatmeal cake type thing and there was muffins. If you want to visit the book store and not buy books, getting a coffee and sitting is a nice way to take it all in and see the old faded paintings on the ceiling. There's also art hung up on the walls. A feast for the eyes.

The service is good. The staff was friendly but I find it odd seeing closing time 18:00 and not being able to order a piece of cake at 17:15. It was literally behind the employee serving me coffee, not packed and she still refused to put it on a plate and serve it to me. Do you want to go bankrupt? Change your working hours if you are not gonna serve after 17:00. This is just ridiculous. 😂

Don't think you might catch up on a few emails here! You'll be asked to put your phone or laptop away because apparently it's "a place to enjoy coffee offline"

  • 4/5 Ivonne V. 1 year ago on Google
Great atmosphere, a beautiful, quiet place where you can sit and read, either alone or with friends. The food is not impressive, but the ambiance makes up for it.

  • 5/5 F.H. C. 1 year ago on Google
Love this place but the manager is not doing his job, and there are problems. This includes customers who return cakes because the staff did not inspect large pieces of glass in food, disrespect of disabled and elderly who ask for help carryinng their hot drinks to a nearby table, filthy toilets with no soap (and still a 1 euro fee to use), no courtesy information from ANY stadd about their occasional guest bands and artists, and selling products that contained banned microplastic beads. The bottom line is feeling of no management making sure customer safety or environmental compliance is a priority, and staff seemed overworked and informed.

We tried the special menu. My iced coconut matcha costs 5.5eur. I was wrongly charged at first but when I made a claim, they quickly checked and gave me the refund. I would appreciate their customer service. The drink is nothing special but I like the atmosphere here. It is a beautiful location and nice environment for reading book.

The coffee is one of the best in Maastricht, especially the cappuccino! Very unique atmosphere in the old church, just a little hot and muggy in summer.

  • 3/5 C.T.B. de M. 8 months ago on Google
@the coffee corner. They don't serve Americano and for the real taste lovers; there grinder are to coarsely. Large coffee is a medium at the best. We had a real good time but next time we will go elsewhere.

  • 3/5 Laurence H. 5 months ago on Google
They don't like you using a tablet or laptop in this place. You need to first buy one of their paper books if you want a read with your coffee and cake. So, no students I guess. Oh, and you'll be lucky to find a table and chair most times.

Neat joint that you’d have to be really lucky to find an empty place to sit. This place is always crowded and full and it’s for a good reason: their coffee is amazing! Speciality coffee which is a bit rare to find in Maastricht. Prices are medium range.

Coffee and muffin tasted great and were of high quality; however, as a coffee shop in a college town, you would expect there to be outlets and spaces to study. This is not the case. There are specific signs on a majority of tables that do not allow laptops. When I did find a space to "legally" put my computer, I was told by an employee that I could not use the outlet under the table to charge it. Very weird and a first for any coffee shop I've ever been to in the world.

(Translated by Google) Worth seeing, bizarre place! Definitely go there! An absolute must when visiting Maastricht is Coffeelovers Dominicanen. This café is located in the Dominican Church, which is over 700 years old Unfortunately, during COVID-19 times we preferred to have breakfast outside at the Brasserie Amadeus right in front of the Dominicanenkerk. The service there was incredibly poor, and we regretted not having eaten at Coffeelovers Dominicanen, where you can get one of the best breakfasts in Maastricht, served on the former altar table or to take away. Open: Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free entry. The church was desecrated a long time ago and previously served as a bicycle storage shed and as a carnival temple. The Gothic church building with its high ceilings and pointed arches gives the café and the bookstore, which is also located in the church, something magical. (Original) Sehenswerter, skurriler Ort! Unbedingt hingehen!

😠 Worst attentiveness I have ever received in a cinema. Lack of humanity. Mocking of the clients. They gossip about the clients through their walkies. Horrible experience. Might as well buy the movie at home and watch it alone rather than having to go through such experience. Or go to another cinema....
