I absolutely love this trail. It’s clean, beautiful scenery, and not too crowded at the day and times I go. Hands down our favorite place to ride

Today was my 1st time on this trail. Ran 16km on this beautiful tree covered paved path. Enjoyed thoroughly.

Best place to park for this section of Silver Comet trail. The trail is beautiful and a fairly flat paved run.

Have run a lot of miles on this trail. The Mavel Road lot is a nice starting point because there are 24/7 bathrooms and water fountains. It backs up to Nickajack Elementary so sometimes traffic can back up in the morning; you really just need to time it with when the school is doing drop off. Safe area, and at the top of the comet incline. Parking is free; have also walked my dog a ton on this trail too.

Wow. Amazing view, lots of great areas and bathrooms along the route. While the majority are bike riders, there were joggers, skate boards and inline skaters. Riding for me connects me with nature and my inner thoughts while getting in fresh air and some good exercise. I rented the bike and helmet for $20. I road for 2 hours without any problems. Highly recommend.

Best nature biking trail in Atlanta hands down. No sharp curves or hills as it was a rail trail

Started the trail in Smyrna GA, which was a very cool walk. Can get busy as there are lots of bike riders, dog walkers, and roller blades. It's very cool as it's shaded, and there are restrooms along the way. The trail goes all the way to GA Alabama borders so you can start at many locations.

If you’re looking for a flat, shaded, paved trail, then the Silver Comet Trail is a great option. The people that you pass by are always very friendly.

The start of the Comet, starting to get pretty crowded, but that's expected as we reign in the summer. One of the greatest paved bike routes, since it follows an old train track, smooth simple straight ride with gentle slopes.

Miles and miles of well kept, paved walkway. Even on a hot day it's cool in some parts. Bring bug spray, water, and enjoy your walk, run, ride or crawl 😊

Great for walking, running, cycling, and rollerblading. The entrance leads to a school, just keep driving and there is a parking lot closet to the trail. If it's the weekend you might have to park at the school. Also the trail goes to the right, to the left is a connector back to Smyrna and a very large, not fun, hill.

Great location with plenty of parking... The silver comet is a beautiful trail that inspires you to go for the long haul. Between the paved trails and the tree cover you can't go wrong.

Great trail, I come here to walk and ride my bicycle all the time. It's a shaded trail for most of it

One of the few places in the ATL to go biking without car contact except on the few crossings. Mile 0 to tunnel at mile 30 make for a good safe bike ride that doesn't take up all day.

Great for the family. This is a great trail if you like being in nature but prefer a paved path under your feet. I almost got ran over by someone on a bike, but that is not a common occurrence 🤭; maybe it was just me 🤷🏾‍♀️

I was very impressed by the staff. There was a storm the night before that knocked over some trees and left a bunch of debris on the trail to the point that it was essentially not rideable when I was there around 7:30 AM. By the afternoon they had cleared the downed branches and they had blown away all the debris with what looked like a huge leaf blower on a trailer. The difference was night and day and they took care of it so quickly.

Parking is limited. Even on a weekday it was almost fall. Nice to have a real restroom facility at a public trail, though.

What a great experience riding our E-Bikes on the Silver Comet through the tunnel on Brushy Mountain it was like floating on air. And the echoes are sensational.

This is a gorgeous trail that is paved, it appears to have been a former railroad bed. So it is very flat. It is very peaceful with a forest feel even though you are in the middle of a suburban area. It is a great place for a relaxing walk, job, or bike road.

Flat, scenic, perfect if you’re on wheels. Not a week goes by that I don’t skate here. I will say, if you’re on roller skates, I can’t recommend going much further than 5 miles down the trail, or past the silver comet bike shop (which is also great). The terrain gets a little bumpy even for my soft outdoor wheels. I find the distance from the Mavell trail head to the bike shop to be the perfect distance (9-10 miles round trip) and refreshingly downhill on the way back (+a beginner friendly decline for sure). Just leaving this review for any skaters who can’t find places to go besides the belt line, which is a public hazard during peak times (lol!). Have fun!
