The food and wine are very good with great restaurant service. BUT.... the accommodation is very basic. * A queen room is 2 x very cheap single beds. Extremely uncomfortable * There is no tea or coffee facilities. * The telephone to reception doesn't work. * The minibar is not sufficient. * There is no working WIFI, other than in reception. * No working TV * The reception staff are most unhelpful. * Access to the property is along a very poor dirt road. * The photos look nice, but so do all photos.... Recommend staying somewhere more comfortable.

We actually stayed in the parking lot in our campervan - power and wifi supplied. What an amazing place. It really was the highlight of our trip through North Macedonia. The view is incredible. Food and wine were delicious. Super friendly owners. Highly recommend!!!

A must if you visit North Macedonia! Many thanks to Mirko, the sweetest sommelier. I had the wine tasting menu with some cheese and cold cuts and a nice beef steak with, wild mushroom sauce and grilled veggies ! Great experience! Will come again for sure!

Beautiful view and place, but compared with Winery Royal Maria one km away it's not worth the trip up because both the wine and service is better the other place.

We had a lovely stay at the winery. We enjoyed the room with air conditioning, the wine, the food, the people and of course the views over the wine field. What a pity that some details were not ok. The wifi is having bad a connection while there are many access points. The two TV's gave both no signal. The road is being improved. And the weather was superb!

7 years ago, when I first overnight in Popova Kula it was all great. Rooms were immaculate in everything, food was delicious and authentic. As the years went by (for I am a witness), it seems the owner has stopped investing much in the rooms and the hotel in general, as the quality of the food had deteriorated and things in the rooms have slowly stopped working. The only thing that remained good is the service. The employees are very kind and helpful. I would suggest to the management to consider a renovation of the hotel, and investing in a good kitchen. I would hate to see such a beautiful place with great potential to go waste. Sincerely hopeful that next time I go back in Popova kula I will be impressed again and raise the rating back to 5 stars.

I have always only passed through Macedonia, I have never had Macedonia as my destination. Evene I have heard of hospitality of Macedonian people. This year we have decided to make a stop in Popova Kula on our way to the seaside and I became fully aware od this hospitality. Smile and warm welcome from the reception desk through the restaurant and warm farwell at the end. We really felt like we are a very special guests there. Accomodation was comfortamble and clean. Food and drink extraordinary. But most of all we loved the scenery. Peaceful and charmy. We have decided to visit Popova Kula fore more then one day.

Beautiful place, very big room, they knew English (good thing). The room was a littlebit dirtier than expected, but not as much to be a problem. The jacuzzi and the TV did not work sadly, the Wifi had a poor signal. Despite of theese, it was a good experience in overall.

We made a stop from our way from Greece and it was a perfect and peaceful accommodation to pick. Food was okay, but wine... oh, man! I am a wine lover and you must try their Classic Vranec! If you love red dry wine you will fall in love with this one. We bought a few bottles to have it at our home too. We'll definitely come again. The staff was friendly too and the beds were comfy, the atmosphere and the view were lovely.

Do yourself a favour when you are in North Macedonia & go to this Winery & stay at the hotel for a couple of nights you won't be disappointed. We stayed in the main part of the hotel & just loved the original beautiful place it is. We did a tour (free & highly recommend) Elena told us about the very beginnings of Popova Kula, where the name originated & her passion clearly showed. We entered the tower & was blown away about the views & the true Macedonian style. Then the food!!! Just so good it was a joy to eat and drink their beautiful wine & the waiters where happy to talk so we learned lots about Macedonia. Met the ladies that clean the rooms & they quickly replenished the bathroom & made sure all was okay Highly recommend.

The view and wine make it a great stop to visit. My food looked bad but it was surprisingly delicious... But: if you keep walking down the road and take a wrong turn you end up at their illegal dumpster. Its hundreds of meters of hotel trash, from electronics and chairs to household items and dirty diapers. You can actually see it from the road below. How an earth can you do this?

Very nice place to spend a couple of days. Large, clean rooms. Really nice staff and very friendly owner. They really take the time for you and they can tell you anything about the wines they produce. We got a tour around the factory, where we could see with our own eyes how dedicated everybody is to delivering the product, in the way they were treating each bottle of wine. You can taste the wines together with wonderful lunch and diner (and even breakfast, if you like). We stayed only two nights, but in retrospect I would have like to stay longer. The surroundings are beautiful and you can make lovely walks or trips from the hotel. I’m glad we found a reseller of Popova Kula wine in The Netherlands, so we can enjoy all the variaties the coming years…

Amazing outside venue with delicious wine and food. Great value as you get to take the bottles home that you have opened during lunch. The food was fantastic. Definitely recommend

Hotel is what you expect for this area, very clean, staff are wonderful and friendly. A range of rooms are available on request, if not happy on arrival you can ask to change if they have a spare. Plenty of storage in the room and it comes with a fridge which has water and wine in it at a cost , not free. Buy water b4 you get here as it not the cheapest place around. Water and electric outages are quiet frequent, first morning was no electricity, second morning no running water. Nice when you need to get a shower for work…….. This place is the best winery in NM, as such the prices reflect this. Food and drink is pricey compared to other restaurants in the area. Push bikes can be hired from reception for a wheeled winery tour of the local region. Beware of the loose dogs on the streets, they chase your cars and if on foot they will bite you.

Very nice place, nice location, quiet, greenery, mountains, very nice and helpful staff with ideas and suggestions, they are always close to you and communicate. The only thing that I didn't like a little was somewhere around 500-800 meters very bad road until you get to the pop tower, many potholes and bumps, you have to drive constantly at 15 km per hour, otherwise you will wreck your car. I think that this should be sorted out urgently by the municipality...

If you are passing by highway Skopje Gevgelija, definitely you have to stop by this spot. It's very easy to reach and nearby the highway. Excellent service, excellent traditional food superbly prepared and wines are very special! You must try Altan white wine, Stanushina rose and Kalesh red wine, don't forget to taste Zilavka white wine, you will be amazed! We didn't check the rooms but I believe they are on the same level as everything else. If you are for a few days vacation then you'll have opportunity to visit some unique places around whether on foot, bike or with car. One of those spots is the Walley of the cactuses where we have cactuses (in Macedonia ?!) growing in the nature which I didn't know up until now! Next time I'll write more about other things...

In general, the hotel is very nice. The location is perfect with amazing views. The rooms are spacious and clean and we had a working bubble bath and private balcony. The restaurant served their own wines and the wine tasting were well-executed; while at times the story seemed somewhat rehearsed, our waiter was quite knowledgeable and explained the wines (and cheeses/prosciutto) in detail. After the wine tasting, the service became poorer. No waiters were coming to ask whether we needed anything and we had to raise our hands many times before someone looked our way. At times we felt ignored. After trying to ask someone for the check for over 20 minutes without any look our way, we stood up and asked for the check ourselves. At breakfast, the service was also a bit lacking. The first day the coffee was cold. The second day the server took a long time to take our orders and what we got was not what was stated on the menu. The taste of all the food was very good, but unfortunately the pork was extremely dry. The remarks I have are somewhat minor. I would have still given this place 4 or 5 stars if not for the price of the hotel. While restaurant prices are fine, the hotel is more than three times what we paid elsewhere. For such a price, I expected to be wowed and everything to be exceptional. Unfortunately, this was not the case. If you have the money to spend, it may still be worth it.

Can't say anything. A birthday party and some free tables for guests (for just in case). No chance for eating or drinking a wine (even not on the stand table without seats, not inside). Unfortunately I don't buy what I don't try... I wasn't here since 9 years.... So....bad luck. We went to an other nearby winery near and had the luck to taste some wines for free and to buy some.... 4 stars for the winery Popova Kula, 2 stars less for non flexibility and giving a try. You need a reservation!

You get fantastic service and excellent wines at Popova Kula for a fraction of money comparing to Italy, France, USA etc. They need to fix the access road and put more signage on the motorway. For 900 denars (around $17) you get 5 wines of their own along with a plate with cheeses, prosciutto, salami and a desert. You can order separately various Macedonian specialties. The cellar is not big, but the hosts use only grapes from their own vineyards. We came on Monday, so we were served almost immediately on everything that we ordered.

It's a shame for a so-called posh and classy winery to have staff who steal. I was at a wedding and at the end of the evening before I left I went to the bathroom and left my glasses right next to the plate. At that moment there were only 5 guests (my friends) so when we left only the waiters was there. 15 minutes after I left I called the number of the winery and no one picked up the phone. In the morning when I called the manager she told me that there were no sunglasses and she made no effort to fix the situation even though she was aware that one of the staff was responsible for the theft

I highly recommend this place. The wine tasting was out of this world, the waiter was very friendly, helpful, funny, and he even let us taste 2 more wines. The wine tasting includes 5 wines. Every one of them was truly amazing. The view was astonishing. 10/10

Room was great, bed was clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning was working and so was the control panel on the wall. Tho it was hidden behind a panel and a bit hard to find. The wine was as expected excellent and so was the staff and service. This was a great one day stay between exploring Macedonia. The environment is very beautiful as well.

The scenery is breathtaking, staff very pleasant and informative, rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. For breakfast there is a buffet and there is something for everybody. They also rent bikes to explore many interesting places in the area. For the quality of service, food and drinks, prices are very correct. It's quiet, peaceful, surrounded by vineyards and nature, perfect place for a pleasant vacation.
