Nice Wetherspoons near the train station and bus stations. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lovely muffin breakfast and coffee. Great value. All on one level so good if you have a disability.

Great pub for a visit if you're in the town centre. The food was fantastic and the staff equally so. Great choice of food and the deals that had at the time of my visit were amazing. It's a nice sized pub that felt busy but was in no way crowded. The staff were friendly and attentive to table clearing and when I ordered off of the app the drinks were very promptly served. I can't fault this pub. Very well run and emphasis put in the customer.

Nice Tidy Venue, Staff were friendly and helpful when needed. Good selection if breakfast and food items on sale at affordable prices. Covid Guidelines still in place but optional. Good variety of drinks on sale too. Clean Toilets too, Only negative from me only 1 coffee machine working during morning breakfast busy time but other than that enjoyed my visit. Plenty of seating marked out

Very nice pub ,always crowded while I was in Newport this summer !! I had a delicious vegan burger !! W/ chips( fries). It was a perfect place to eat before singing karaoke at Mojo across the street !! A very nice worker at this pub ( he was cleaning tables ) cheered me up by asking me if I was alright ,he looked genuinely concerned as I was looking down .I had a bad day ! A huge thanks to him !!! The guy at the bar took my order was a very friendly guy & helpful as well !! I highly recommend this pub !! Btw.,the foods were reasonably priced !! Very good vibes around ,too !! Nice place for refreshing your mind 😉 we enjoyed it a lot, I love their chicken wings with blue cheese and the combination of chili sauce 😋😋 and the drinks are not expensive. Great job

It was curry club day for lunch on the menu. So we ordered the curries which came promptly and arrived with rice, nan and 2 popadoms. It was a nice beef madras and I had an alcoholic drink of my choice included in the price too. The pub was packed so the atmosphere was good too.

No problem with drinks. Chairs uncomfortable. The app to order not accessible. Atmosphere okay to be fair though. Staff nice and friendly. Not my first visit and won't be my last. Please get more cushioned seats though haha.

Not that great. I wasn't expecting much as JDW is ok for the price normally but the steak was inedible. I couldn't be bothered to complain but I live not far from Tim Martin so if ever he asks me this is his worst pub grub. Staff were friendly though. Beer good value.

It's a spoons, but one of the better ones. Clean. Tables were cleared quickly. Staff friendly and polite. Food was pretty tasty, piping hot on hot plates (with plenty of warning) and served around 10 minutes after order taken. The Blood Orange gin is amazing according to my mom. The Doombar was chilled nicely and poured perfectly.

Couple of pints and a burger while waiting for the train. Beer well kept and a decent price, suoervfast service on the food and really good value. Good atmosphere for a Sunday and the rugby on the big screen. Not normally a big fan of Wetherspoons but this one was one of the better ones l have been in. Would happily visit again !

One of the best Wetherspoons I've been to. Even though the place was completely full, food came out relatively quickly, hot, fresh and a decent portion. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere in there too, as some of the other Wetherspoons I've visited can seem like a doctor's waiting room.

Food was delicious. We had the curry from the curry menu on a Thursday. Service was fine. I found the place a bit sticky and stale smelling and the toilets smelt a bit gross. Could do with a freshen up around the place but it was packed and the food was lovely with a good price.

Cheap cheerful steak and a pint cant go wrong

We were in a hurry to get a meal before our train. The lady at the bar couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We got our food in good time and made our train easily. Nice people, reasonable price, couldn't ask for more.

One of the better spoons. Hot food, great service, great prices, fish n chips as good as any chippy.

The manager there was the most sarcastic person ever. Accused some of my group for throwing up into a sink with no evidence and then when trying to talk to them about it the manager was being sarcastic and treating me and my girlfriend so poorly. Poor behaviour from the manager.

Had a nice meal here after a hard day's shopping. Went in planning to have a steak and kidney pudding but got tempted by the mixed grill which is always good. Better value to upgrade to the large version too. Wish you could choose the degree to which the rump steak is cooked (on the app) as it tends to come by default well done, but otherwise a perfect meal with my favourite pint of Worthington's Creamflow. They were out of mustard but mixed us some up, which unfortunately came just before we'd finished the meal.

We went in and had one of the cheap deals with a drink. Very nice too!. Perfect portions and I had Ham egg and chips. The eggs were lovely. We also enjoy the curry day on Thursdays. Nice hubbub around of people talking and enjoying themselves.

Spent 2 hours at the Celtic manor yesterday ( Boxing Day ) and watched Dirty tables untouched for hours as were the dirty glasses on the bar and wait time for a drink well over 10 Min … Have come here to the John wallace today and watched a family leave and the bar lady straight on it within minutes. This place is always Friendly , Clean and Food always piping Hot and drinks served Promptly. Definitely Recommend .. :-)

I went there quite early for a coffee which is self-service machine. I think they use Lavazza coffee which is top quality Italian. The staff were very friendly. Pleasant way to start the day.

When ordering my meal I was told that one of the bottled wines could sold by the glass. I decided to order one and was told quite abruptly that because it was not on the menu app that I couldn't have a glass. It was on the system as sold by the glass but he wouldn't budge. I work in the service industry and if something is on the system the customer has rights. Will not be back. One minute you sell bottled wine by the glass the next day you don't. Not very professional.

Always enjoy visiting here, excellent staff that knows their regular customers. And significantly far better that the awful one I visited in Cardiff last week. Unfortunately they only had one person serving in a full venue today. Waited ages in a queue.

Much the same as my last review, busiest cheapest pub in Newport City, diverse clients from wheelchair users to underage dope fiends. Enjoy!

Staff are friendly and service is quick. The pub is a good size with loads of seating, we've always managed to get a table. Often out of various food items on Sundays and as someone who is limited with their diet this can be an issue. Apart from this I would definitely recommend
