I’m absolutely heartbroken while writing this. We took our cat in yesterday for a routine dental cleaning that Northside had been pushing us to schedule for months. Before the appointment, our cat was his usual energetic, happy self. As of now he is in critical condition at the UW vet hospital, with the vets telling us he could die any moment. I voiced my concerns to the vet at Northside before the cleaning, but she assured me they had a special protocol used for older cats with arrhythmias undergoing anesthesia, and that he would be fine. I waited all morning for a call to let me know I could come pick him up. It finally came, in the form of a mealy-mouthed message informing us that our cat was breathing more quickly than normal and that we should come pick him up and take him to the UW vet hospital. We arrive to find him struggling to breathe, salivating, and a respiratory rate well over 100 bpm. We come to find out the procedure had been completed hours ago and they didn’t call us immediately to tell us something was wrong, but just sat monitoring him instead of allowing us to pick him up and take him to UW to get the oxygen treatment he desperately needed. I can’t tell you how difficult the ride to UW was. Holding on your cat in your arms as it struggles to breathe while panicking, wheezing and salivating. It was a devastating experience that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Please, please avoid this place if you want the best care for your pets. It’s clear to me now that they place profits over the well-being of animals.

We’ve been bringing our dogs and cats here for a few years now, and I have nothing but kind things to say. We were there today, and one of my dogs was very frightened of the blood draw, but the techs were so understanding and compassionate. It makes me feel safe knowing that my babies are getting care here; I know it’s going to be top notch!

The staff at Northside Animal Hospital are top notch! From the minute I walk in they care about my dog and listen to my concerns. They offer affordable services and let me know what is absolutely necessary and what is recommended. There is no pressure to upgrade, but still make sure my dog is taken care of. I used to live near the clinic. I have since moved away, but still make the drive to have such good care for my dog.

My kitties and I are new clients of Northside, but I have nothing but positive things to say. I'm incredibly grateful for all of the patience and time they've given us. Our first visit (with both kitties) did not go well (they were basically fighting the whole time and very anxious). Dr. Ali and the techs were incredibly understanding and kind throughout. My second visit was with only one kitty- who was still skittish. Dr. Ali and the techs took their time with her and worked to calm her down as much as possible. I'm so grateful that we found this practice and that they are so close to where we live. Prices are fair too. Thanks Northside!

What a great first vet visit! I really appreciated the fact that both the technician and doctor took the time to read my dog's prior medical history before our first appointment together. Then, I received a follow-up email after the appointment checking up on my dog on how he did with his vaccines, which I thought was very thoughtful and professional. I truly have nothing but positive things to say about my first visit, this facility, and the Northside staff!

I had the absolute best experience! The staff was so kind & friendly. My cat is very shy and doesn’t do well at the vet, but they got everything I needed done and even gave me awesome tips on how to make it easier next time. I also got some great information about basic care tailored to my kitty cat. Thanks again!

We were scheduled to have our new patient visit next month, so we weren't even patients yet when one of my dogs got sick. I didn't think it warranted the emergency vet, but I wanted to try to get in as soon as possible. I left a message after hours at Northside but by morning our poor pup had worsened. I was counting down the minutes until they opened so I could call, when I received a call from them! They had already listened to the message and were able to get us in within 30 minutes. That was a miracle in itself, but then they also showed me how to administer fluids myself and gave me the tools and meds to continue caring for her at home to hopefully prevent another visit. Seriously one of the best vet experiences we've ever had. They were kind, caring, and listened to our concerns. Thank you!

Amazing vet clinic! They've provided me comprehensive, compassionate care for all of my animal companions. Between helping ease my senior cat's passage from this earth and assisting my rescue dog-toddler as he's entered my life, the staff at Northside have offered unparalleled support for my fur family at every life stage. Though their services can be expensive (as is the case with all vet care), they're always considerate of my financial needs and can still develop effective care plans for a tighter budget. Definitely worth the investment and patronage!!

My cat received very good care. The Techs and Vets were competent, gentle and patient. I was kept informed and given opinions for my cats care/ treatment. The staff is very pleasant. Finally, the treatment, medication and take home supplies were a very reasonable cost.

Northside provides compassionate and excellent care for pets. We've been using them since 2020, and have had only positive experiences. They communicate efficiently and professionally, provide clear pricing estimates, and all staff (admin/vet techs etc.) are clearly animal lovers.

Northside Animal Hospital has been great with all of my pets. One of my cats was diagnosed with cancer about a year ago and they have been so supportive. I recommend Northside anytime a friend is looking for a new veterinary clinic.

I cannot say enough good about Northside Animal Hospital. I have been to many vets all around the country and this is the only one I felt like I truly trusted. They are incredibly compassionate and take the time to exhaust all the options. We have had some pretty interesting issues with our pets lately and Dr. Sarah has gone as far as to consult with an ophthalmologist outside of the office. I know they are super busy and this extra step does not go unnoticed.

I love this vet! They are very kind and thoughtful, they are considerate of your budget and goals with your pet and they always follow up after vaccines to make sure your pet is doing okay.

My fiancé and I just moved to the northside of Madison and I am so happy that Northside Animal Hospital will be our new vet! We just got home from our first visit and it was an awesome experience. We saw Andie and Sarah and they were both so kind and the exam was very thorough. They addressed all of our needs and took the time to get to know our two cats, Monty and Russell, and really listen to our concerns. I couldn’t recommend them enough and I feel so at ease knowing they are in the neighborhood ❤️

Took my cat Jethro in to get checked out for sneezing a lot. Any number of things could cause that, they recommended I keep in inside and observe for any other symptoms. Only Jethro is indoor/outdoor. No other symptoms arose, but now Gibson sneezing, wet eyes and snorkly, guessing he has a cold. He's totally indoor only. They gave lots of information, were gentle, always spray room with pheromones to calm kitties. Happy with all the staff.

The staff is wonderful. I had to take my new kitten in for a round of vaccinations. We were early to our appointment but were seen almost right away. Everyone there was very knowledgeable and friendly. My kitten, Laney, fell in love with every person she met there. As I am new to Madison, I was worried about finding a vet that I could trust. I have found it in Northside Animal Hospital.

Highly recommend. We felt so comfortable bringing our puppy and cat here for regular checkups. The vet, CVT and all other employees are so friendly, helpful and kind to our pets. They bring you in the room during checkups, make sure all your questions are answered, even ask before giving our puppy a treat (of course it's okay to give him PB but the thought of asking to be sure if very thoughtful) and make sure he's healthy. They aren't putting profits first, they actually care about the wellbeing of your pets and are very reasonable with their prices.
