A very old fort which was built by Dutch and French. Very nice to see. But poor maintenance. The caretaker is very kind and explained the history well. He lives nearby to the fort. You can call him if it is closed. He told that some renovation work is going to be done. There are a group of monuments nearby the main fort. See them also. They will take you to the time of Dutch. But overall all the monuments should be renovated or else it will fall off to dust. The future generations must see this fort.....

Government could maintain some neatness and improve the surroundings and the route to visit the fort. This is 200 years old construction but govt hasn't taken any responsibility to maintain that.

Some places in and out of Machilipatnam indicates the glory of Machilipatnam and this fort is one of it.It was built by Dutch people in 16th century A.D.Due to utter negligence this fort is totally ruined. The main gate is locked but we can access the fort BBY jumping the fence. we can witness only ruined walls of the fort.Beside the fort we can see a clock tower and warehouse. It's said that warehouse is used to store Bombs and armours and the clock wall is built on the memory of deaths during Cyclones and another story says slaves were killed and burried. Some says we can feel negative energy during nights. This place is totally deserted in nights and no one dares to visit.we can find lot of ancient monuments in fallen stage near and around the fort. Finally lot of stories were told by different people but the actual truth is Untold. But I guarantee you that you can feel the vibes when you visit this ancient monument.

Pleasant atmosphere, great history and amazing guide. The 16th century Dutch architecture is clearly observed. A must visit place if you want to know about the lost history of Machilipatnam. Maintenance of fort is essential for imparting knowledge for future generations

Good place to visit for people interested in historical buildings. There are no facilities available near by. This is not tourist spot. Easy accessable by auto from koneru center . It's usually kept closed as no tourist come to this place. Currently they are doing few restoration works .

This fort is a sixteenth Century British fort; earlier, it was built by the Dutch for fabric manufacturing.

The Bandar Fort was built by Dutch in 16th Century and historically used by Dutch, French and British as the power shifted. Essentially to be known is that this was the first ever fort built on the east coast that enabled business to flourish and help setup colonies in India. Closer to the fort is an Armory, where the East India company secured there arms and ammunitions. The fort is not maintained at all and often locals do not know what it is. The fort is strong enough to withstand several powerful and havoc wrecking cyclones and come of ages really!

One of the great places to witness the Indian history with your naked eyes... There is a clear visibility of the grandeur of Dutch on the eastern coast of India.. Worth a visit...
