As someone who dreams of a more sustainable society I've always imagined several independent "island" communities. How coincidental this village is named as one. Seeing vox's coverage of this place makes me happy to see there still are places like this. Rooting for their success in improving their transit and economy.

I hope the locals are left to live their lives in peace and harmony with nature, not invaded by TikTokers and other narcissists.

Tried searching after watching a Vox show on YT. The place is still beautiful. Reminiscent of Bromo.

Went to the local water park. It was awesome. Then the movies and the theaters, beautiful. After that Starbucks and domino's while I slept in the five star hotel. Gorgeous!

Wowwww thank you Vox for showing the world how amazing this tiny secluded place is. It brought joy to my heart seeing these villagers smile without having much. Really puts things in perspective.

Loved the place after watching vox video, people there have managed to do so much, relocating, farming and place looks too peace. Amazing collaborative work.
