The Lemur Park is located 27 km west of Antananarivo on the national road 1, far from traffic jams and pollution of the city center. It's a paying private park, guides are included in the entry price and are at your disposal for the visit of the 5 hectare park between the Kastaoka river and the national road 1. The seven species of lemurs live completely free in this park which is maintained daily. There are also some endemic and medicinal plants there. This park allows you to save a lot of time in terms of visiting the national parks, if you don't have enough time during your stay in Madagascar.

Nice experience visiting the Lemurs Park. This is a small botanical garden and lemur reserve covering 12 acres, and is located 22 km southwest of Antananarivo, Madagascar.

Great experience! Our guide spoke English very well and was very knowledgeable! Many of the lemurs are removed pets, and are used to humans (though they don't approach and you can't touch them). They are fed, but was free to move about the park/ leave if they choose. It's a great opportunity to get some fantastic pictures of these curious animals! We arrived right at 9 am, and the morning was definitely a great time to visit! Would highly recommend!

Brilliant park full of an array of lemur species and other animals, set in a grand green park. Loved strolling around the grounds, seeing the lemurs jumping, running and bouncing around.

I would highly recommend a visit to this Park. It is located about 1-1/2 hour drive from downtown Tana. It is a Private Sanctuary started over 22 years ago by a few French and Japanese ex-pats. All the Lemurs were rescued from private owners as it is illegal to own them. Because of there rescue they can not be released back into the wild. They go through a rewilding process but can never take care of themselves. They are well taken care of. They are fed and have Vet visit around once per week. They are free to roam on the 5 hectares. There are approximately 70 and they are multiple different kinds of Lemurs. They co exist but in small family groups. What is great about coming here is that the Lemurs are not very fearful of humans so they will scurry around you and will not run if you are but 3 ft away. You can get some very closeup pictures. Cost to get is 70 Ariary and is open from 9 am to 4 pm. There is no real set time for their feeding but we found that they were hanging out close to their feeding areas. You must have a Guide and your Tip to them is up to you. The tour is about 1-1/2 hours. Our guide was Princsa and she was very knowledgeable about Lemurs and the environment. She has been working there for about 9 years and is working on her University degree in Social Communication and Environmental Management and planning on getting her Master's. She spoke very good English. There is also a small restaurant on site which was good and the tables sit outside overlooking the countryside. Prices are reasonable. 22 to 35 Ariary for lunch and drinks 5 to 10 Ariary. There is also a small souvenir store.

Spent nearly two hours with the guide walking around the gardens. Guide was great, lots of info and gave us more than enough time to watch and photograph the lemurs. You’re asked not to get within 2 meters of the lemurs but if you’re quiet and patient the lemurs may well come and get a closer look at you. Animals look healthy and cared for and they have room to roam albeit with smaller territories than they’d have in the wild. Their diets are supplemented in the winter. Nice but bit expensive gift shop; cafe on terrace looked nice but we didn’t stop for food.

Very nice park , we had a lot of fun , you can see around 5 different species of lemurs and some turtles They are not held in cages or anything and they are not afraid of humans so you can see them up close. The guide we had is really nice and knew English and French. The cost is 40 000 Ariary (not including tip for the guide) Taxi from Tana costs 120 000 for both ways( the taxi driver is waiting outside the park) -the ride takes about an hour.

Fantastic experience. We went together with our new Malagasy family (our son married into theirs) and Hery, the guide talked with us in English and then talked with them in Malagasy. He was patient and nice and very knowledgeable. He told us lots about the plants and the animals. We got to see 4 different kinds of lemurs and took plenty of pictures. We even saw a little chameleon. The gift shop isn't really worth it but the parc experience was great! Fantastic for kids but also for adults.

The park is great, you will see several species of lemurs and chameleons. A great place to get close ups. The tour was only 1:30h with a tour guide provided by the park. The entrance was 70,000 MGA, cash only. I paid 200,000 MGA for a private driver, he took me there and waited outside to bring me back. Just to get there from Antananarivo it took around 1:10h. There were very few tourists.

Excellent guided tours of this park which contains six different species of Lemurs. In addition there are a lot of plants and other animals in the park like tortoises and chameleons. The guides are very knowledgeable and well versed in multiple languages. The animals seem to be well cared for and are not in cages atypical of a zoo experience. During my visit I was able to see a baby lemur with its family in October.

Visitors are not allowed to walk around in the park without a guide, so planning for a one-hour visit with the designed tour will be a realistic expectation. There are 7 species of lemurs in the park. It’s a bit like a mini safari so you never know how many you can spot, but the chance should be fairly high. The way they climb tree and dance is indeed cute!

We think this park should be avoided if you really care for animals and / or are true naturalist. It is a Zoo. We visited it to inform others about the concept. We saw 6 kinds of lemur including 2 kinds of sifaka from all over Madagascar. Having visited Andasibe for 3 days and Ranomafana for 4 days we can say that the animals generally don't live in a natural environment and have to be fed according to their diet multiple times a day. We thought it very upsetting that the animals were scared / shooed for good photo opportunities. On the plus side the animals were not caged, looked healthy and could in generally explain their group behavior. The entrance fee is ridiculously high with 70.000 AR per adult, compared to the national parks. The restaurant is slightly more expensive than in the basic western grade hotels in Madagascar. It remains unclear who profits of the whole park. There is no proof of any lemur being set free in the wilderness, as they told us was the goal of the park.

This was a unique experience meeting thw lemurs for my very first time. The animals are in the open and not locked up in cages. They are approachable but you not allowed to touch nor feed them. You can take photos and videos. The entrance fee is 35000Ariary per adult. There is also a gift shop for souvenirs.

Because it is a small park, I was able to reach lemurs quickly. They offer car transfer that helped me because I didn't know how to use public transportation to reach the park. The park is small and the tour ends quickly. No real time for taking pictures. Besides, I was a solo visitor and the accept for car transfer two or more, which made me wait for some time until they told me I can use the park with some other visitors. Other than this, I liked the visit.

Great sanctuary park We booked over official website tour with included transportation, guide, lunch ( great food) and drink.. Deal was supper good, driver came on time as it can be quite long drive to the park due to bad roads and traffic. We visited at the end of our two weeks tour where we previously saw lemurs in nature, so at the beginning we felt sad seeing rescued animals that was captured due to humans egoism. Park is doing their best to recover them and some of them get ready for go back in the natural habitat ( unfortunately small percentage, but at least young once). We saw 5 different kinds of lemurs, turtle and chameleons. Highly recommend to visit and support this park.

At the moment of October 2019, the entrance fee for adult is 40,000 and for infant 20,000. Although I could see some lemurs, I didn’t feel so worthy to visit there paying 100,000 for the taxi. In terms of the reservation of lemurs, i agreed that it is very important.

The place is nice, and it's good to see (a few) lemurs, but it stayed well behind expectations - seen just 3 species of lemurs (as opposed to the advertised 7), at an (apparently recently) increased price of 70K ar per person, and the place offers fair meals, but 50% more expensive than much better dishes in restaurants like Saka Manga or Rossini in Tana. Add to this a return trip at 200K ar, and the little visit ends up being rather expensive for what it is.

Another beautiful experience. If you plan to visit, make sure to go earlier as it is traffic to cross the bridge going to the other side of town. Take note that they only have 1 bridge to go to the other side. Make sure to bring cash! They only accept cash for the entrance fee and to buy some souvenirs. The tour guide was very nice. He took time to give us information in every plant or animal, every quiestion ask and a lot of things. He spoke good English too.

Very expensive for what it is. Despite the fact that guides pretend that they want to keep the natural habitat of the lemurs, they feed and attract lemurs as their convenience. Maintenance of the park terrible.

(Translated by Google) Lemurs are really beautiful, very calm, they are used to visits, however, personally I think it is important to keep your distance, especially for the Lemur mamis and their baby lemurs. They can already feel uncomfortable with the presence of strangers, even more so if they get too close. I also think that the people in the park should not "intervene" trying to place them where tourists can better observe them.

(Translated by Google) The first encounter with lemurs in the "wild" is completely different than in Zoos. We met here the best, namely the park's population, which has long tails, soft paws and nice visage. We meet the first lemurs, the Lemur Sifaka. There are several of them and they are affectionate. But probably not the way we would have imagined it, but it is certainly very pleasant. Then we walk through the bamboo thicket, more Sifaka appear here and there and we continue on through the park. There are plenty of bushes, palms, bamboos in the park, just green for lemurs. Passing through the bamboo grove, Sifaka passes us with its beautiful dance creations. As we progress through the park, we also reach the radial runout of the turtle, and then we finally encounter the Lemur Kata. The park is beautifully maintained and the attitude of the staff and the guide can only be appreciated. Potkáváme první lemury, a to Lemury Sifaka. Je jich tu několik a jsou přítulní. Ale asi ne zase tak, jak bychom si představovali, ale určitě je to velice příjemné. Pak procházíme bambusovým houštím, tu a tam se objeví další Sifaky a my pokračujeme parkem dál.

Very good place to come if you want to see the lemurs up close. As many have commented seeing them in the wild e.g reserves or national park is nice but you'll hardly be able to see them in detail unless you are lucky. At this park they have always up to 6 different species of lemur for you to see. You're able to see up close but not touch them. For me the only special one here which I did not see in the wild was the bamboo lemurs. They too have the endangered Radiated Tortoise which is beautiful. Hopefully the high entrance fees asked is out to good use for the protection and study of these beautiful and unique animals.

I went on a sunday when there is little traffic so only took just over 30mins from Antananarivo centre, in normal traffic it will be an hour or more. 100,000 ariary for the return taxi which waited for me. 40,000 ariary entry including a compulsory guide, tour takes maybe 1.5 hours and you see multiple lemur species up close along with some tortoise, chameleons and the botanical garden. Not much to do in Antananarivo so if you there anymore than 1 day I would reccomend a visit here.
