Stunning setting, beautiful rooms, excellent food and super friendly service. All the staff speaks good English as well, which is a bonus. Really enjoyed staying here. The whale shark outing, where you can swim with these magnificent creatures, is an absolute must. You can snorkel with sea turtles every day via a short walk along the beach or the friendly skipper can drop you right where the turtles are. Magnificent! We also did a hike around the island with a local guide who shows you everything of interest. Very informative, although the language barrier was a bit of a problem.

We had an amazing stay at the Sakatia lodge. The island is very peaceful with a nice atmosphere. The lodges are nice and well maintained. Food was very delicious and fresh. The staff is very kind and professional. A special thanks to the lovely Georgia who took us on a diving session and made us feel very welcome during our stay. Would definitely recommend Sakatia lodge if you want to relax and also enjoy some more adventurous activities. Very luxurious with a personal approach, the opposite of a typical hotelchain-experience in the best way possible. We hope to go back one time!

Sakatia Lodge is an amazing piece of paradise! Lots of activities to do for free like kayaking and snorkelling. Best part of the island is you can spend hours swimming with large turtles and exploring clear waters filled with mangroves. The food was fantastic, cocktails even better and the staff were great! Take a walk through the island with a local guide for a feel of the whole island too! An experience of a lifetime overall!

We stayed at Sakatia Lodge for 6 days and 7 nights. Initially we were very impressed with our bungalow and setting. But it soon dawned on us that we were on an island were everything purchased is through the lodge and at the highest exchange rate possible. Bottle water had to be purchased at the bar which was extremely costly. We found we had to remain hungry through the day as purchasing a simple sandwich for lunch cost us R76.00 each. We found our savings dwindling away trying just to save enough to make the trip home. Our generators were turned off even before the stipulated time leaving you in the dark and terribly hot and bothered. There is no respite from the heat and you cannot even go for a dip in ocean for relief as it is a mangrove area and when the tide is low it is a huge mud bowl and when tide is in it is too shallow unless you can walk through 400m of thick mud to get into a bit of a deeper area to cool down. We were extremely bored and the trip out to lemur island was shody and a tourist trap. The people living there are extremely unfriendly and be sure not to point your finger in anyone's general direction, we felt very unsafe. One night Jose promised a huge spread for supper we were starving and supper time came and went finally when Jose's family and friends arrived on the island were we allowed to eat. Clearly he was only concerned about his family and friends and not the guests at the lodg

Visited here in Dec 2017. Stayed in family bungalow which was pleasant, right on the beach , will cooler wind every now and again. This time of year very hot and humid, one perspires without doing effort. Nights offer no relieve, especially when fan stops on generator shutdown. The good things about the lodge is - breakfast and dinner good, sufficient and varied - neat and cared for - staff good, helpful and speaks a degree of English - lunch and drinks are reasonable compared to other Malgasie lodges I visited. - hygiene of a high standard which is essential - hosts are helpful and accommodating - the dive centre is active and well run Not such good things - no activities on offer, easy to get bored - sea current withdraws from the bay, leaving sea bed exposed maybe 500 meters - possibly sand mites on the beach / adjacent mangrove which bite when swimming - no pool (that said, none of the other lodges I visited had swimming pools) Saw chameleons, gecko’s, snakes in there natural environment, which good to experience.

One of the best holidays we’ve had, and we love to travel. Seafood is great, space and ambiance is beautiful, people are warm. From the villas, you can walk straight out and into the water, and immediately swim with turtles (in front of the lodge is a protected turtle sanctuary). Don’t look further, just book it.

We spent a week at Sakatia Lodge. A fantastic experience. The lodge is well maintained. Lots of love has been put by the friendly owners. The staff is well trained; great service and excellent food. The ambiance is relaxed and you won't be disturbed by anything, it is a private place. At this moment the lodge is managed by a super kind Italian couple They speak fluent English. Andrea and Giorgia are service oriented and make sure that your stay meets all your wishes. I took the Advanced Diving course. Andrea was my instructor and I felt comfortable with him under water. He is experienced and teached me many things and I approved so much, already after the first dive. We had great days on Sakatia and we are little sad to leave. We will be back! Thanks to all Sakatia Lodge members for the great stay! πŸ’•

We stayed at Sakatia Lodge for 6 nights, and that was one of the best experiences we've ever had. A very beautiful pace, located on the unspoiled island, friendly and exceptionally well trained staff, great food, experienced diving instructors were among the things which made our stay so good. They offer different activities for their guests: diving, whale-sharks watching, snorkeling with green turtles, SUP renting, trips to different islands, guided hikes on Nosy Satakia just to name a few :) And an extra point goes to the eco-friendly tourism approach. They try to satisfy and entertain their guests, while keeping the nature and wild life in mind. Responsible tourism for the win!

One of the wonderfulst places of the world to stay quiet days on the sea. Family atmosphere, best food, ecxellent service, great possibility for Big Game fishing and it must be great for diving. I only can recommend and I am sure I will come back.

The hotel is beautiful, food is good and rooms are clean. The diving center is well organised and the location is gorgeous. Unfortunately, the feeling is that everything is about taking as much money as possible from you! Nothing is included in the price, not even a single bottle of water in your room or during an excursion! All food, drinks (including water) and activities cost 3 times more than in other places. This is the policy of the owners who are absolutely not ready to make any gesture, even if you are a big group. This way of treating clients as walking wallets and taking advantage of their quasi-monopoly on the island overshadowed all the good qualities. It is really sad because the staff were very friendly and helpful.
