😲 Wow, A very well super natural maintained forest area opened for public in 2018 next to Vandaloor zoo towards Kelambakkam road 🛣️. Missed such an amazing place in Chennai so far. For couples it's the best place in Chennai to hang out. Ticket price earlier was 5/- Rs per head now it's 10RS/-. So what are you waiting for. Go for it and enjoy the Nature beauty. Beware of snakes. Kindly go through my snaps if you're seriously interested in visiting the place. 1 star ✨ less as the ticket man will show no interest in giving the ticket.

Great Forest Genetic Resources Park on the Vandalur-Kelambakkam Road. Entrance ticket is just Rs 10 only. No car park. Rest rooms are great. Very big park with great trees, flowers, walkways, a canal across, benches to sit, Aavin tea stall, organic manure for sale, butterflies, birds, great open sky, etc maintained by forest dept. Nice place for School excursions, photo shoot, photowalk, etc. Herbal plant nurseries are available for sale Strongly recommended

Very calm place to relax after visiting Vandalur zoo..

Good place to spend evening.. *This place has rare and Medicinal herbs more than 300.. a walk like 5 feet for arround 1.5 km covering all those plants.. Once these plants becomes trees, it will be more like forest..👍 *This place is coming under vandalur zoo.. *Lots of stone seats available in this parks, some were pre occupied by the lovers lookalike.. *It is available till 6pm only.. *No tickets for babies/kids.. for adults Rs.10 only.. *Further lots of kids playing swings, slides, see-saw available.. plenty available.. *And there's a tea shop located which can be access from inside the park also.. it has bajjis, tea, coffee, ice creams, snacks, etc.. *Entire park is clean and good.. must visit place.. *Every Tuesday holiday just like the vandalur zoo.. *Car Parking available on the road, whereas bikes can be parked inside also. *Restroom facility available.. *Selling of medicinal saplings with moderate rates.. you can buy one to your home👌👍

We can see lots of medicinal plants here. Even we can buy medicinal herbs and plants' saplings here to grow in our garden.

Great initiative from Tamil Nadu Government forest department. It is backside of Vandalur Zoo. Herb trees throughout the park. Natural herbal air. A place for kids to play. Spacious parking area.

It's been fully established just 2-3y ago so most of the trees are still not fully grown though you can check out all varieties of trees(Botanical name & Tamil common name) with their characteristics mentioned on the display board. Ticket cost ₹10 per head for age more than 5 years, best time to visit at 9:30am in the morning & evening after 3:30pm because it closes at 5:30pm, you can take a 1km path way walk to see all the trees & in the end near exit, your children's can spend time in the park with See-saw & other play things...

Very nice place to spend time with family and friends. One can see a variety of trees here. Foot path is there to walk around the forest. Very rare species are also maintained. All tress have scientific names. This is Very useful for students. Medicinal benefits of trees are also mentioned on every species of trees. Very large space is occupied, and still trees are being planted. Benches are placed everywhere to sit and relax. Play area is also there near entrance for children. Snacks shops are available inside. Sampling are also available for decent price. Parking facility inside the campus available. Entry fee is nominal for children and adult.

This park was located on the way from vandalur to kelambakkam.the park is undertaken by govt.they do genetic research on plants.

Tree park nearby police academy...

Surprisingly offers a great close to nature experience. Has the Potential of becoming a dense urban forest in 10+ years as the entire area is planted with lot of tree saplings. Operational time 9.00am to 5.00 pm. Entry 10Rs for adults. Got a couple of refreshment shops (as usual this area is littered)near to entrance area. Kids play area also available. Loved the ambience and looking fwd for more visits in future. Good job for who ever thought about this here and hope more will come up like this.

Park and Maintanence looks good. One of the hidden park near vandalur zoo located next to zoo on Vandlur -Kelambakkam Main Road. Entry fee is Rs.20 and for Photoshoot Rs.200 . Children playing area also there, good to spend 2-3 hrs in evening with friends and family.

Good place to teach about plants and trees, kids enjoyed and learned new experience, park maintained well entrance fee Rs. 5 for above 5 years age. Almost 350 types of different plants we can able to see here....Tuesday is holiday, Morning 9.30am to evening 6pm this park time, many rest point like stone chairs available, aavin parlor is very close to entrance, 3 kids play station available..

Great place to take the family out. Needs fixing up here and there but overall a good place. If focus on maintenance and upkeep is given priority then it would make it a must visit attraction for residents in and around Chennai. A place with potential.

Absolutely pleasant place to sit and relax... Surrounded by herbal plants and lots of trees. Good for childrens to spend 2 hours max. At affordable entry fee Rs 10/- only. Good for friends, family to sit and speak in the natural forest with good fresh air. Lots of trees. Absolutely good.

Peaceful place to spend time with kids. They need to make arrangements for car parking as the crowd is increasing every weekend. Need to add some more entertainment for kids and also make the children play area bigger with more kids activities. Restrooms should be maintained properly. Also can install cctv inside for safety as well as to drive away mindless pairs doing things in public place that make people uncomfortable when visiting with kids.

Entry is 10 per head. Park is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Good place to spend for a hour with family and children Many native and foreign trees are planted in this Park, some are mahogany,eucalyptus,rudraksh,vilvam and many more. Childrens play slides,swings,merry go around are there for children to play. Few benches there for elders to rest. Good long path way for a stroll inside natural environment. Bike parking is available inside, outside space is available for 5-6 cars. Negative is I found a young couple sittindulging in touching and hugging on a remote bench .

Idea is a great one but focus on development will help educate kids a lot. Think they can put more language names. Maintenance is way poor or they not have funds or who know other than small park nothing else is maintained.. My be in another 5 years some trees will grow

Its a wonderful and peaceful place but we should be careful because the place is haunted woth lots of snakes. If the government maintain and clean the park occasionally it will be even more safer to visit. A lots of kids are coming and going in this park. By the presence of snakes its not really advisable for everyone to come. So i request government to please clean and maintain this place.

Place is full of trees which are not maintained properly. Very dry place. Could have been maintained properly.there are lot of scope for improvement in maintenance of trees and looks mostly dry. The play area for kids are also not maintained properly with lot of damages.

If you are student n want to explore the varieties of trees n its uses this is one good place to visit. There is small park for kids with swing,slide and stone benches where you can spend time.You can buy saplings that are available with them. No other major attractions available

Place were so dry,not maintained properly,The incharge with mustered does not talk kindly to visitors,there is no drinking water available,if we asked to that person he scold us go out and drink water.. He totally spoiled my day .I love the place.but I will not suggest to my friends because of this person..teach the person how to behave.. otherwise change that person..worst ever ..
