It has the collection of rare Photos, letters, manuscripts of Ramanujam’s works. When PK Srinivasan was in search of a place to display to the public, ATB Bose came to his rescue and offered his own property. The Museum is governed by MAT Educational Trust (Avvai kalai Kazhakam Building run by the Mahamayi Ammal Thangappa Nadar Kalvi Valarchi Arakattalai,) an educational Trust.

Ramanujam Museum is located with the Trust Building of AVVAI ACADEMY. One can have a look inside the Ramanujam Museum. Here you can get some insight about the man and his obsession wih mathematics. A genius in his own right. He is infact famous for solving a few mathematical problems which surprised some english mathematicians and scholars. A few of the englishmen at that time grew fond of his research and others supported him as well. Like these days... in his own time he saw many people who discouraged his research and findings and so did not let him progress. He was regarded a scholar and compulsive learner of mathematics. Many south indians are regarded as good in mathematics and learn through app or have different methods these days. But here is a man who did not have all the comforts we enjoy today. Despite the disadvantages and ill health and other situations which were discouraging, Ramanujam proved that he had something worthwhile to prove AND that he was indeed a star and a genius in mathematics. Learning about the man and his life revolving around mathematics, it is truly humbling experience.

It has shifted to a new location but I could not get the information of that place. Atleast there should have been some poster and any contact number.

This museum, although small, is a good place to get inspired about mathematics and learn about the life of the popular mathematician.

If you own a car you cannot reach the museum. The street entrance is not navigable with a car at all. I tried and got almost trapped. There is no parking anywhere nearby either. We tried multiple times to get through other side streets but could not. That is the only reason for the 1 star. Otherwise we were looking forward to seeing this museum.

There's a special needs education programme they have that tries to help disabled people. The museum reminded me of people living in Chennai who like number theory puzzles and remember his work by solving them. I had random astrology-like thoughts around the specifics of his life and felt a bit unlike me thinking like that. The letters he wrote gave me an understanding of the kind of mindset people lived in under an oppressive authoritarian rule.
