Dhenupureeswarar temple is an old Siva temple located at Madambakkam, East Tambaram. You have bus facilities & share auto from East Tambaram. All Gods are here. Siva, Ambal, Anjaneyar, pillaiyar , Perumal, Murugan, Durgai, Sarabeshwarar. Sarabeshwarar Pooja on Sunday Raghu kaalam is a much famous here. There will be big crowd on sundays in this temple. People from different areas reach here for this pooja. Lot of God statues are found in the pillars of this temple.Vanni marathadi pillaiyar is also in this temple. All the festivals are well celebrated in this temple. Because of covid last two years no big celebrations. Have a big theppam nearby they used to conduct theppa thiruvizha also. Big ther(car) is also there. Ther festival is also celebrated here. Kumbabishegam is about to get conduct in this temple in the month of April 2022.

Lord Shiva temple.Very much clean and peaceful. Sarveshwarar poojai happen on every Sunday , they provide u one red colour rope people believe that rope helps to prevent from disease. This temple is 1000 years old , heard from surrounding people's. Must visit temple in madambakkam. Evening time is bliss . Inside inside u can find puliogare , lemon rice , sweet rice shops , calendar shops , book shops too . Huge place for parking area. Transport facility is good . From Tambaram u can get into 31G bus or 105A bus. So much of place around temple makes us to forget ourselves. There won't be single mosquito 🦟 so u can spend time as much as u want inside temple. During day time also , u won't feel suffocating inside temple. Anatham booking also available. But most of the days already booked.

This is a medium sized Temple having Lord Shiva and Goddess sanctum within the same compound. This Temple is maintained cleanly, to some extent literally too. Lord Shiva is Swayambu ( came to existence on its own). The front side tower is not completed but there was no one to give the background. On Sundays, between 4:30 and 6 pm, elaborate 'Abhishekam' is performed and lots devotees participate. You have to book in advance if you want to partake. Enough parking for both two wheelers and four wheelers available. There is a bus stop right opposite to the Temple. Drinking water is available inside the Temple. There is a well maintained Temple pond just next to the Temple. Entry is barred. Mist of the scriptures carved are gone due to the scientific cleaning methods, sand blasting. In few places, one can find the traces of it.

Very old temple built in 9th century... Really had a nice visit here. The temple is very clean and the sculptures in the pillars are awesome .. Initially the temple was built in Chola period and then it was maintained and reconstructed by several other kings. Attached the photo of temple history. People in the chennai city can visit the temple once. The Garbhagriha of the temple is built different than other temples.. #positive vibes #Must visit

Must visit this historical temple, was built between 956-973CE during Raja Raja Chola 1 who built Thanjavur Brihadeeswarar temple/Thanjai Periya Kovil between 1003-1010CE Well maintained, organised with name boards for each Sannidhi. Prasadam counter based on timings, hand wash, dust bins are allocated properly & cleanliness maintained throughout the temple compound. Also before entering into temple enter the pond to view the water, trees surrounding it for a peaceful Dharshan. Morning is the best time for crowd free Dharsan on both weekdays & weekends. Avoid weekend evenings to save time on crowded queues

This is very old temple and lord Siva is main deity here. Very powerful god as he got established as suyambu. This temple was built in 957 AD. Nearly 1100 years back. We went for 60th birthday function. Temple was clean and neat and the pond near to it full of water. Pretty good and neat temple. This is near to medavakkam. Hardly 3 to 5 kms from medavakkam.

Historical rich and famous Shiva 🏵️🙏🏵️ temple in Chennai. The shivling is swambhu, the story is that Kapil Muni was born as cow due to his mistakes of wrong worship of lord Shiva. Cow use to pour milk on land and cowherd use to punish cow for wasting milk. Later once shivling was observed, cowherd felt sorry and lord shiva appear for liberation of Kapil Muni. Here Kapil Muni got liberation. Temple structure is of chola style and fascinating. Temple is maintained well and transportation is easy available. 🏵️🙏🏵️

This is a historic temple which is in chennai and it is historic and a spiritual excellene to visit . Architecture vise the temple is a gajaprishtam structure which is unique to temple Architecture. The temple is believed to have been built by sundara chola , father of aditya karilalan and arunmozhivarnam (raja raja the first) . Later turned into a granite structure by a later chola King. There is vijayanagara Architecture very much present in the temple. The swami dhenupuriswar is a swambu lingam and known to grant wishes of all devotees. Great place to visit for spiritual enlightenment with in chennai region. Must visit . The only draw back is the temple is too small to chola heritage.

One of the oldest temples in TN. Its a 1000 year old heritage temple and the sivalinga is very unique. One should visit the place during abhishegam, where we get the darshan of suyambhu lingam, which is very unique compared to other sivan temples. The temple is long due for kumbabhishegam and HRCE doesnt seem to prioritise, which is a sad state of affairs. Overall its a divine experience! Sambho Mahadeva!!

This temple is located in Madambakkam, it's a very familiar temple in this area, an old one too. I personally felt really his God gives us in the positive vibes, good through, healthy and happiness in my life. But the temple people are using diverts to charge too much money from them. Ex: Poja bag 100 rs, in that bag we have coconut,3 Bananas, one small grass, Namaha grass,( arugampill) that's all. The ghee lamp is changing 10 rs one piece, so, one plate we have 5 ghee lamps 50 rs. Vehicle parking 5rs bike, auto 10rs, car 20rs around 500 meters redence distance from the temple. In side temple for abishekam 2000 rs per head and 5 rs for archanai + posari 50rs started from.

Wow, what a pleasant temple. An ancient historical shivan temple near Tambaram Madambakkam. It is Suyambu Lingam. Lord name - Dhenupureeswarar, Goddess- Dhenukambal. Here Every Sunday RAGU KALA POOJAI (4:30- 6:30 PM) is very famous. Mostly on the week days there won’t be any rush, so one can have Darshan peacefully. Pradhosa poojai and Shivaratri poojai is also famous here. People from other districts come here to get the blessings of lord shiva. One can feel the positive vibration (wave) once you enter the temple premise. Ample parking space available. Large Holy pond will be well decorated during theppa kulam utsav. Awesome place for relaxation. OM NAMAH SHIVAYA. The ultimate. SAVE NATURE. HAPPY DIVINITY.

The Sri Dhenupureeswarar Temple is a revered Hindu temple located in the town of Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its unique Suyambu Lingam, which is believed to have self-manifested. According to legend, the lingam was discovered by a group of cowherds who noticed that their cows would regularly gather around a particular spot in the forest. When they investigated, they found the lingam, which was later enshrined in the temple. The temple architecture is a blend of Chola and Vijayanagara styles and features intricate carvings and sculptures. The inner sanctum of the temple houses the Suyambu Lingam, which is believed to be one of the oldest and most powerful lingams in the region. The temple attracts a large number of devotees, especially during the annual Brahmotsavam festival, which is celebrated with great pomp and splendor. During the festival, the temple is decorated with flowers and lights, and a procession is taken out with the deity on a chariot. The Sri Dhenupureeswarar Temple is considered a sacred site by Hindus and is believed to have the power to grant wishes and alleviate suffering. It is a must-visit destination for those seeking spiritual solace and a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of India.

Few quick facts: Earliest inscription found at this temple are from the period of Parantaka Chola II – Sundara Chola during the 10th Century. The inscriptions reveal that the original name of Lord Dhenupureeswarar was Sittreri Udaiya Nayanar and that of Goddess Dhenukambal was Nampirattiyar. Madambkkam during Chola rule was referred to as Ulaguyyavanda-Chola Chaturvedimangalam. It was part of the ancient territorial subdivision called Nedugunra Nadu in Puliyur-Kottam situated in Jayamkonda-Cholamandalam. (Puilyur is the current day Kodambakkam) The main sanctum of this temple, which houses the presiding deity Lord Dhenupureeswara in linga form, faces east. Unlike most shrines, which are square or rectangular in plan, this one is apsidal in shape (called gajaprishta vimana in Sanskrit), a feature found in some Chola temples in and around Chennai. The sanctum of Goddess Dhenukambal, situated close to the main shrine, faces south and has a separate entrance in front. The Vijayanagara rulers also contributed to the architectural expansion of this temple. The front mandapa, through which visitors pass to reach the shrine of Lord Dhenupureeswara belongs to this age. The exquisite sculptures found on the pillars here are a treasure house of Saivite iconography. There is an unfinished gopuram over the main entrance. Saint Arunagirinathar of the 15th Century A.D., author of the `Tirupugazh,' has composed a hymn on this temple.

Apart from cleanliness everything is good. It is very old temple located in Madambakkam area. It's almost more than 1000 years old. On full moon days, on festivals and on special occasions it is little bit crowded. Parking in front of temple is not free, a lady comes and gives parking ticket even if we park 100 mts away from temple

Though It's located a bit interior or remotely, it's quite popular and very precisely found with Google maps. (Translated by Google) Lord Shiva destroys property "140 crores worth of land is occupied and commercial complex is being built" - cruelty! The land belonging to the Thenpureeswarar temple in Madambakkam, Chennai, which is worth Rs 140 crore, is being built by a business complex which has caused a lot of discontent among spiritual enthusiasts. Thenupuriswarar Temple, 1,000 years old, is located in Madambakkam, Peruranchi, next to Tambaram, Chennai. The land belongs to the temple, including Madambakkam, in several places, 46 acres, 23 cents; There are complaints that 26 acres and 69 cents of poisonous lands are located in Rajajipakkam - Madampakkam main road, 150 years old, 7 acres, 57 cents land is occupied by a private person and a commercial complex is being built. In this regard, the spiritual elders said: The vast majority of the lands belonging to the temple administration are residential and agricultural land. Now, the occupied land, commercial complex and over 10 apartments are being built without permission. Of this, the business complex is being built with the ground floor and first floor. It is being built by Madhambakkam, the owner of the shop 'Shanti Hardwares', NC Selvakumar. So, he is working on the construction of the temple, including all the officials of the temple. In this regard, a complaint was lodged with the concerned officer. He has received large sums of money from the occupier and has not taken action till date. Also, he called the complainant, saying, 'Just look at your work.' With 95 per cent of the land owned by the temple occupied, the remaining 7 acres of land is still occupied and agonizing. The total market value of the encroached land is Rs 140 crore. The temple will get income of more than Rs 10 crore per annum by regulating the occupants of these lands and collecting the land rent and taxes on them. Madambakkam, Grama Niladhari Officer Ramadas said: A few months back, the executive officer of Thenupureeswarar Temple asked if the land concerned belonged to them and to measure it. In it, the whole land, as belonging to the temple, is firm. Then, Tasillard was informed of the encroachments on the land. He, with the help of the police, told the Action Officer to get rid of the encroachments. If the land is arable, we can remove the encroachments and restore the land. Thus, he said. The temple activist Sivakumar said: On March 22, a complaint was lodged at the Selaiyur police station regarding the occupation. We have also filed a case with the Chengalpattu Sessions Court. We have asked Tambaram Dasillard about the occupation and asked for permission to remove it. The occupations will be eliminated in a matter of days. G. Radhakrishnan, a social activist from Madampakkam, said: "If the land of the temple is privately owned, the loot will be looted. . The property of these temples has been plundered by some politicians and individuals and turned into houses and commercial complexes. It's a serene temple located amidst a busy City. Considering the history of the place, it's no wonder the best temple in the locality. It's calmer in the evenings and does provide a peace of mind. The statues are placed uniquely in the pillars. This temple dates back to early times and has been built by many rulers of the last of our country. Though it's not an epitome of beauty, it definitely is an epitome of spirituality.

Most people traveling to Pateeswaram Durgai temple may miss this temple as the general opinion is that the place is famous for only the Lord Durga temple. Around 20 mins (10 kms) from Kumbakonam, this temple is a must visit. This temple is just adjacent to the Durga temple. History is that the calf of Kamadhenu, the divine cow's calf Patti worshiped the lord built in sand by pouring milk from its udder onto the lingam. This temple is also famous because it has been sung by the great Tamil saint Appar. Relatively less crowded than the Durga temple, one should not miss out if one is at Kumbakonam. The Gopuram's are a treat for the eyes and the temple is quite well maintained, thanks to the recent focus of the government of tamil nadu.

Filled with Spiritual and Good vibration. Its a 1000 year old Lord Shiva Temple. The main highlight is the Lingam emerged itself(Suyambu), its the main attraction of the temple. Temple is very clean and entrance is constructed by a stone structure that give old age look to it. Overall its a good place to spend time.

It’s one of the ancient Siva Temples In Tamilnadu located close to Medavakkam. It is in general crowded on Sivarathiri and Pradhosam days and “Panguni Uthiram Festival” is also celebrated here every year. It is also famous for “Sarabeshwarar Pooja”, which happens every Sunday evening between 4:30 till 6PM! Temple premises are cleanly maintained, however temple pond is not, as there’s lot of garbage on pond steps. There’s a pooja shop, wherein we can get “Bodhi Sambirani” for 85 rupees, which is very good! 👍 Annadhanam also happens here every day for 100 people, which would cost 3500 to sponsor for a day!

The temple was built between 956 and 973 CE during the reign of the Chola king, Parantaka Chola II, father of Raja Raja Chola I, who constructed the famous Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur.

Temple is good but don't buy any outlets , temple need to take care this . No proper respect to people, especially this kind of lady. Issue here is they are thinking everyone as fraud , I was not allowed to make payment via UPi and she starting speaking lavishly.
