I first started working with this team in 2018 after a meniscus repair. I had no idea what I was getting myself into during this recovery process, but I felt truly seen and heard by my PT, Rick. I had some setbacks and unique things come up during my recovery, and he was able to address them on the spot. He explains things very well and it’s clear he has a deep knowledge of all things PT. In 2021, I had a rotator cuff repair and saw a different PT somewhere else. Big mistake. I didn’t realize how good I had it at Mercy with Rick and his team! I called him up a few months later, like, “I messed up. Can you fix my shoulder?!” He was able to get me in that week and start work. I made tremendous progress over the next month because he could manipulate the shoulder in ways I could not do on my own. The joint finally started to open up and I got my range of motion back. Both surgeries have pretty painful recoveries, but I fully trust the team at Mercy and that alone made it much easier to progress. The entire staff is helpful, personable, and they all work so hard. I highly recommend Mercy PT and will continue to call on them.

45 minutes of waiting with no apology. The hubris of valuing your own time over those you are supposed to serve is disappointing. Won't go back under the same circumstances.

I've been working with Mercy orthopedic PT team for over a year through several surgeries. They have supported me through decisions regarding my rehabilitation and have helped me make great strides in my healing process. This office works with my schedule and makes it easy for me to get in my PT sessions. Highly recommended!

Awesome staff and so friendly even though they are all constantly busy and overwhelmed ( that’s what I hear anyway :) but, they never let it show. The therapists will bend over backwards to help you as well they spend a lot of time with you. The front office staff Pam in particular is so helpful and it’s really encouraging to have people like her when your dealing with an injury and trying to recover. Thank you.

Therapists are thorough and knowledgeable. My issue is that they never answer their phone. Makes it awfully hard to reschedule appointments due to unforseen circumstances or emergencies. Instead the appointments end up looking like no-shows.

It seems like about once a year I go to PT (I’m always getting injured 🤣). Every member of Rick Altenburger’s staff is friendly, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. Rick, as always, goes far beyond the call of duty. He is the most dedicated Physical Therapist I’ve ever known. However, you can’t go wrong with whoever your therapist will be. Another bonus of this location is the extensive amount of state of the art rehabilitation equipment. Previously, I’ve been to different therapy locations around the city, but now I will never go anywhere else.

I can’t say enough good things about Mercy Health - Jewish Hospital - Physical Therapy and Mr. Rick Altenburger PT. I had a torn shoulder labrum (technically a SLAP Type 2 tear). Couldn’t lift my left arm above my ear. I wanted to avoid surgery and PA Dawn Sodders recommended me to Rick and his team. I began therapy mid April and just received my “good news / end of PT” on October 30. No more pain, 95% my old self and 100% of the praise goes to Rick & team. Again, can’t say enough. Rick was always available - if he wasn’t, Dustin, Michael and Noah subbed in. I received competent care in a patient friendly environment. I recommend Mercy Health PT without reservation. 100% satisfied and thankful for all they did to get me back to where I was. Cheers!!

Physical therapy was the one aspect of recovery after knee surgery that I feared the most. However, I must say that my therapist, Rick, was great. He took the time to tailor routines that addressed my weaknesses and actually listened to my input and adjusted as necessary.

This team and office are great! From the front desk back to the Physical Therapists & Athletic Trainers! -Everyone up front is friendly and knows you by name. -The Physical Therapists are patient, encouraging, and always there with helpful advice for real world applications during your recovery. -All of the equipment is new & state-of-the-art. -The suite is always clean and ready to go when you arrive. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing rehab after surgery, PT to avoid surgery, or recouping from an injury, this is the place!

I recently had Physical Therapy at the Jewish Hospital Outpatient location (across from the hospital) I love the building. It’s on the 3rd floor. There are lots of windows and natural light. The building is clean, and the equipment modern. From the receptionist to the the medical staff-they are professional and friendly. The therapists and trainers seem to work well together as a team. My PT was very knowledgeable and most importantly patient and kind. He listens well and has a lot of compassion. If I ever need PT again I would travel to this location again. I could have gone to a location closer to my home but I had a positive experience with this PT in the past. I highly recommend the Jewish location. Thank you Rick and all the staff for your help in my recovery.
