Its a great place.. if u love visiting old places, love olden architectures, then its worth visiting. And u can have fun with the mirrors. It has lots of different types of mirrors, where u can be a dwarf, tall etc.. the interiors are single curated stone architecture which looks like of Rome, and the outer view is like an olden church...

Aaina Mahal, located in Bhuj, Gujarat, is a historic palace known for its unique architecture. Built in the 18th century, it showcases a blend of Indian and European design elements. The palace features intricate mirror work, exquisite carvings, and ornate glasswork, making it a remarkable example of craftsmanship. Aaina Mahal translates to "Mirror Palace," highlighting its stunning reflective interiors. The palace also houses a museum displaying artifacts, paintings, and royal possessions, providing a glimpse into the rich history of the region.

It's nearby Bhuj bus stand and Prag Mahal. Parking is available. It's beautiful. But charging Additional Rs 50 for mobile photography is not worth dur to small sizes. It's worth to visit with families.

When you are in Bhuj, you will end up doing Prag Mahal followed by Aaina mahal as both are in the same premises. Unlike Prag mahal where there is very minimal to see, at Aaina mahal there is a structured exhibition of things. Photography even with mobile is restricted and you need to take a ticket of 100 rs of you want to take the photos. There are multiple halls depicting various things like the place for music, the instruments used for war, etc. Preferable to come early in the morning before it gets crowded. It is closed in the afternoon so be mindful of this fact. Parking is ame, so park your car, go to Prag Mahal and then visit Aaina mahal before you take back your car out.

One of the famous tourist places in Bhuj, this palace is known for the mirrors inside the palace. There is one room which has mirrors on the sides and also in the main hall and aisle area there are mirrors on the roof. There are lot of antique that are well preserved and taken care of. To enter the palace, you have to remove your shoes outside. There’s no one to look after the shoes that’s a bit of a scare. There are separate charges for photography inside and there are CCTV cameras put inside to keep an eye on people messing around with things. It takes about 30 mins to do the complete the tour and it is a decent experience. The structure of the palace is bit dilapidated from the outside but well kept from the inside.

What splendor the rulers of yesteryears lives in. Hunting, drinking, and breaking the backs of peasants in order to gain their memberships to tennis clubs in Norway, The British Isles, and elsewhere. They shot and killed animals on other continents, brought them back and either had them stuffed and hung on walls, or turned into carpets. But alas, like everything that is susceptible to corruption, theft, and a slow decay, dynasties fell and wealth dried up. One can see remnants of some glory inside this rather well-kept museum. Entry is Rs. 20 for Indian citizens, with an additional charge of Rs. 50 for a camera (whether phone camera or a SLR/DSLR), and Rs. 200 for video. PHOTOGRAPHY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED INSIDE THE SMALL PALACE STRUCTURE. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE THIS POLICY. Parking is free. Be mindful that this is a historical place and observe and learn with due respect. Don’t miss the structures on the left as you enter (opposite the plant nursery building).

Very beautiful palace with rich history and legacy of Kutch, with a lot of artefacts. The palace's walls and ceiling were made of a lot of glass, but due to neglect, Sheen has faded.Sadly, some of the complex was under construction while other parts were in complete disrepair. Cultural heritage in these far-off places requires more preservation and protection. The majority of the photos that visitors have posted on this site are of Parag Mahal, which is located on the same property. Photography is not permitted inside Aina Mahal.

It's a beautiful structure....but currently restoration work is going on. The structure is quite ruined and gives you a real feel of that era. You won't be allowed inside the Rani Mahal cause of its ruined condition. Only visit this place if you like history.

It's a small dark palace where many old items used by the Maharaja of Kutch are displayed. You can finish watching within 30 min max. Items are not properly preserved. Also management is very strict about implementing no photo policy. If you are in Bhuj you may visit this place as its tickets are reasonably priced and it's near to the larger Prag Mahal. Timing is a bit odd and opens at 9:00 am close at 11:45 am, then again opens at 3:00 pm till 5:45 pm. Remains closed on every Thursday

Big residence of the Bhuj Royalty. Seemed more like British architecture than Indian. Now much restoration required inside. There is an entry fee. Max 15 minutes for a quick walkthrough. No guide Available.

On display here are Old Kutch Currency Coins, Weapons used by various Kings of Kutch, Bed used by the King to rest, and a place near the entry where the King sat, surrounded by Musicians and the whole setup surrounded by water fountains to enjoy the music. Takes an hour at the most to visit and see everything inside.

This place has some really beautiful glass artifacts. Unfortunately alot of these were damaged during the earthquake in the yr 2000. There are different sections to explore here: * Fuvanra Mahal - entertainment room for the king where the musicians used to play. * Aina Mahal - hall of mirrors * The kings bedroom- It is said that he changed his bed every year and the legs of the bed were made of gold. A single source of light was enough to lit up the entire room. Check the bed added in the picture. I was taken aback when I a saw the beautiful ivory door! Sad that the artisan was paid only 1 kowri for it.. check picture to read more about it. Overall it was a good experience. I'd say an hour is enough to explore it.. you have to pay 50rs to take pictures. The entry fee is frugal: only 20 INR.

    - A good place, poorly managed - cleanliness is completely missing - only fun part for kids is different types of mirrors (but that is something it not called Aina Mahal, Mirror Palace). - Mirror work is there on walls but it has taken a bad shape due to lack of maintenance - nothing historical in the palace as such - overall an average experience

What once stood proudly with glittering glasses, antique clocks and exotic tile works was shaken and dishevelled in the 2001 earthquake that hit Bhuj. The loss was tragic, but it has now been recovered and renovated for people to visit safely again. The Aina Mahal is at the northeast corner of Hamirsar lake, easily walkable from most of Bhuj. Be sure to explore the rest of the compound outside the palace, with its beautiful carved doorways, elaborate window boxes and balconies. Within Bhuj, you can reach the Aina Mahal easily by state transport buses which is the common form of conveyance or by hiring a local vehicle - whatever suits you better.

The lone attendant in this small museum is so knowledgeable. Has great details about the display and happily shares it too. The hunting treasures of the king are at display here and lots of silverware. The attached garden is nicely maintained.

Sharad Baug Palace - 1867 This graceful 1867 Italianate palace, set among shade trees full of crows and bats, The Palace was the house of the Royal family of MadanSingh . The last king of Kutch, Madansingh died in this place in the year 1991. The SharadBaug Palace once the house of Royal family has now been transformed into a museum and currently is adorned with the striking relics while the palace is surrounded by beautiful collection of numerous flowers and few of the medicinal plants and this has led to the reasons why many migrating birds flew to visit this palace. The visitors can visit the palace for six days of the week while the palace remains closed on Fridays for the public view. The timings to visit the palace are 9 to 12 in mornings and 3 to 6 in evening. The entry fee to visit the palace is Rs 25.

Though the palace of Sharad Baug is set in sprawling green grounds the actual building is of very modest proportions. The sitting room, living room and bedroom occupy maximum space in the palace while the dining room is in another building. All these rooms bear interesting artifacts and objects which the royal family used to use in their daily life. The furniture design has an Italian influence while the tapestry on the walls is purely Indian. The body of Madansinhji Jadeja was flown in from UK to India in a personalized coffin. The same coffin is still displayed in the palace which has now been converted into a museum.
