The most humane customer experience I had in my life. Brought my 2 little ones here yesterday and they were more than accommodating. The staff were super friendly and fair, on top of that their hot dogs are the best in the area. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a genuine American hot dog experience. Places like this need to stick around forever!!

Had a hankering for a hot dog so I saw the reviews of this little place so I thought I would check it out I ordered a chili dog and a polish my wife ordered the regular Chicago hot dog everything was delicious the root beer was delicious I would highly recommend this place the owner was totally cool the only thing is you have to eat in your car or at the few tables provided

Best root beer float I have ever had (rootbeer is homemade)! It's such a neat place. My son also loves their hot dogs.

You just pull up now they come out and take your order and bring it out to you! They're sloppy Joe's are pretty good I remember them from many years ago! Downtown Joliet off of Cass St. By Joliet Central high school! He used to have to eat them with a fork they had so much meat! They're still halfway decent size not as filling as they used to be though

First of all let me start off saying I did not know this place did not take credit cards. They came out and gave me my food regardless and told me to come back and pay with cash when I can. That is honestly phenomenal there is not a lot of businesses like that today. Also the food was amazing their chili dogs are very unique. The chili itself is a little thinner but holds a lot of flavor hot dogs tasted of good quality as well . The real highlight though is that root beer wow literally has that vanilla ice cream flavor to it so good definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or even if you come out of town.

Homemade Root beer! Also good food. And Homade Root beer! Open all year round tho it looks like a seasonal drive-in, wish u could sit inside tho. Least they have take home sizes of HOMEMADE ROOTBEER!!!

This place has the BEST Chicago style hot dog & their home made rootbeer is top tier! The owner is always kind and welcoming and the food never disappoints. A hidden gem for sure!

I had a taste for a hot dog and a quick Google search sent me to Hey Hot Dog. I was super excited to find that they have homemade root beer too. Having never been there before, I wasn't quite sure about ordering etiquette, but pull in, wait by the door and they will come out to you and take your order. I struck up a very nice conversation with the owner and ordered 2 chicago style dogs and a large rootbeer. I was crushed to find out that they don't take credit cards and as I was fully expecting to drive off empty handed, the owner told me to pay him back next time I was out that way. Mind you, this is a guy I knew for 5 minutes and didn't owe me a thing. I knew I was at agreat place and this kind act validated it. Root beer - my favorite root beer is Barq's root beer. It has that bite to it and doesn't have a vanilla profile. My least favorite is A&W because of the vanilla. The root beer is lightly carbonated and has a very strong, yet balanced taste of vanilla. Honestly, this is one of the very best root beers I have ever had. Hot dog - I ordered 2 chicago style Hot dogs and I really enjoyed them. They use Milano bakery buns, which if you're used to S. Rosen is a bit different but the buns are like soft pillows of goodness. The dog itself had a nice bite to it and the toppings were all excellent. I usually enjoy a pickle spear, but the pickles here are very thin sliced, which is ok because it actually made eating them a lot easier. Will I be back? Absolutely! I love supporting small family businesses and will try the Italian or Polish next time and maybe even a rootbeer float. Hey Hot Dog is not to be missed.

We stopped by Hey Hot Dog during a big road trip across the US. We got there just before closing and the staff were super welcoming and helpful. We had a Chicago, Chilli dog and of course their house rootbeer. The food was delicious and it was a great experience overall.

Great chili dogs. Hard to beat the service. Drive up, they come to you and get your order. When they return you pay and they hand you the order. I visit regularly and have not been disappointed. Consistently high quality hot food. Friendly staff. I will be back.

We stopped here to have a root beer with our two little ones. Upon arrival we were prompted that it’s cash only. We didn’t bring cash, however- on our way out the owner asked if we wanted to just bring cash back sometime this week. The root beer was amazing!! The customer service was great as well!

From the day I saw Hey Hotdog in the Joliet Patch I have been trying to visit but I could never catch it open. Well, today is August 2, 2022 and I noticed cars in the driveway as I was leaving an appointment. The line was out in the street so I decided to park. They were very busy trying to get orders out so I waited for about 10 minutes then placed my order with BJ. The couple waiting with me decided to sit down to eat at Hey Hotdog and they gave him cash I asked if they took credit cards and he said no but I can come back and pay him the next time I’m hungry. I thought that was AWESOME. Either I have a trusting face or these people are just great. I left with my 3 hotdogs/3 large drinks and went straight to my shop to get cash for BJ. Also the root beer and hotdog were delicious. I will visit again for the service alone. Next time I will have cash in hand. Kim

They have really good food. Excellent homemade root beer. The owner is always very friendly and helpful. They will set up a corn stand around the middle of summer. Corn is always the best.

If you like like great food and especially enjoy a delicious Chicago style hotdog 🌭 do not I repeat do not go here !! Now if you don’t care about quality food and don’t mind. Ketchup on your ( Chicago style) hot dog then by all means hit this place up .

Stopped by at 2:20 on a Saturday afternoon. The open sign was up, but the doors were locked and no one was inside.

1 star for atmosphere as it's a drive up location only. But other than that great local business and friendly staff.

Believe it or not this was my first ever visit to Hey Hotdog. Saw the sign Best Polish in Town. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they were telling the truth. The fresh Milano bakery bun, with an excellent polish sausage covered with the works. It was delicious! Their root beer is fantastic also. Will definitely put Hey Hotdog into my Saturday afternoon rotation.

Hotdogs are not salty. Barbecue sandwiches and Polish sausages are great,too. This is a good place to go. And do not forget their root beer which is freshly made all the time!!!

We love the place, it is not for fancy eaters. The place is a small cramped establishment with it's own unique ambiance, the people running the place are extremely friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with your order. Food is done fast and tasty. Our first visit and we tried about half of what they have on the menu. Everything was awesome, the only gripe I have is that they only take cash. I had to prepare $$, since I have been stuck on using plastic for years. I hate to have to have some change in my pockets. They do have an atm machine in the premise, but still I dont like using cash.
