I thought it could be the products my stylist used, but after washing it, the frizz did not improve. I asked my friend, a hair stylist, what could have caused this, and she said it looked like my hairdresser did not know how to use a razor properly. The bad technique destroyed my natural wave pattern, and my hair is limp and flat. I also spent half an hour complaining to Ashley about how much hair I've lost over the past year, and I noticed she thinned out my hair even more. I asked for a butterfly cut and understood it would be thinner throughout the bottom. However, it looks and feels thinner on the top of my head. I am beyond disappointed with my haircut. I wanted my hair to be healthier and more manageable. Now my hair looks thinner, damaged, and limp. No amount of leave-in or hair oil is helping either. I've spent the past few hours on the verge of tears. I am so devasted.

Absolutely WONDERFUL! To say that I am beyond pleased with how my cut turned out would be an understatement. I told Ashley I wanted a fresh cut with layers to give my hair the movement that I adore. Over the last 6 years that I've been going to her, she never fails to deliver the best cuts ever!!! Ashley has been giving me a razor cut for the last 4 years and I'm so happy with it! My hair is always healthy and soft with lots of body and movement since she's been cutting it this way, I am so happy she was able to fit me in before my birthday so I look and feel like a bombshell! I'm so happy she encouraged me to try out something new with time with the face framing layers! I am so happy, and cannot wait to see Ashley again for my color appointment!!!

Ashley is the best!!! She is an amazing colorist .. others in the salon ask her advice. My cut is always fresh and precise. People stop me to compliment my color and take pictures of my cut! Love Aveda products! Ask for Ashley!

It was my first time visiting the salon and it was an excellent experience! The staff and environment are very welcoming compared to the few other places I’ve tried out over the years (and in various cities I’ve lived in). The atmosphere is both warm and professional - the ideal balance for a great client experience! My stylist was Ellie, and she is incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and gave me a fabulous French style bob that I love! I am 100% looking forward to my next visit with her!

I love this place. The salon feels welcoming and comfortable, as most of Downer establishments do. On my most recent visit, I saw Bridgett for the first time. She has a way about her that is so approachable and understanding. I had an instance comfort like I have known her for years. AND she knows what she's doing. I had gotten one of my most FAVORITE haircuts. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

The whole team at this salon is fantastic, but I especially want to shout out my stylist Ashley! I was looking for a new salon and booked an appointment for this location and got her just by chance, and have been going to her since. She consistently provides quality service, and answers all my questions, and truly cares about making her clients happy! Highly recommend her and Robert Laurence Hair Studio!

Robert Laurence is a a wonderful salon to come to on Downer Ave. They have great Aveda products, it is a modern & pleasant atmosphere, and Ashely is a skilled stylist.

I called and asked for a haircut, but when I arrived the stylist said I was only scheduled for a 15 minute bang trim, and she had another client coming. I understand scheduling snafoos, but I was charged $50 for a cut that took 10 minutes, and did not include my bangs, or any other services. I don’t blame the stylist, it’s the management that is promulgating such mercenary pricing tactics. Never again will I go there.
