There is so much to rave about! Mary, the new owner, was incredibly hospitable. She offered unlimited snacks, early check in, late check out, unlimited soda, free drinks, and so much more. 90% of the furniture is originalโ€”we even got to sit in Mark Twainโ€™s chair! The breakfast was multiple courses and absolutely amazing! She catered to our dietary preferences, and even had homemade juice from berries at the Garth mansion grounds! The whole ambiance of the building was unreal. I felt like I stepped straight into a fairy tale or fantasy novel. I would give 1,000 stars if I could!

From the moment I reserved the room I was enchanted by this home's beauty!. The Staff were prompt in helping me even switch the rooms when I realized I had booked the wrong room. They were patient and caring during our stay as well. The mansion is just stunning! The grounds are well paved and well maintained! The furniture was comfortable and inviting! The linens were so soft! I never wanted to get out of the bed!! Even though we arrived later than we had planned the room was warm and cozy! Each morning the breakfast was delicious!! My husband and I are still raving about our time at Garth Mansion! Thank you again, Mary. It was a delight staying at the Mansion!

We stayed in one of the cottage for a girl's getaway weekend. It was the perfect place to stay! The beds and pillows were super comfy, the bathroom was large to accomodate everyone getting ready and the furnishings were clean and comfy. They even had thow blankets that were super soft and clean! The best B&B we stayed in - but tip to those who are tempted to sleep in and skip breakfast... don't! :)

What a great place to stay in Hannibal. Off the beaten path and on gorgeous property, the mansion itself is beautiful and run by amazing people. My wife and I had a great time. Mary does a fantastic job at making you feel welcome from the second you walk through the door. The rooms themselves are nice, and there's history everywhere you walk in the mansion. Nice grounds, nice people, great food. We'd definitely stay there again!

The Garth Mansion, a portal back in time with it's one of a kind hospitality, will have you craving more and already planning your next trip. My husband and I wanted a relaxing weekend getaway for my birthday and it was all we could have dreamed of. We ordered the romance package for our room and it was wonderful. Beautiful fresh flowers, wine, chocolate covered strawberries, snacks and Garth Mansion wine glasses. We stayed in Avies Room. The sun brightens up the room every morning with no need for lights and the warm glow fills the room, gently waking you up just in time to get ready for the gourmet breakfast that is offered. Day one breakfast was fresh fruit with sauce, homemade blueberry muffins with raspberry butter and French toast "A la Garth" ( peaches and whipped cream) with sausage links. Day two breakfast was fresh fruit homemade strawberry shortcake muffin with raspberry butter and Quiche garnished with spinach leaves and grape tomato. Garth Juice accompanied both breakfasts which is made in house. The time and details that goes into this home is nothing but extraordinary. I would recommend the Garth Mansion to anyone who is wanting to enjoy a peaceful weekend in the country.

It was gorgeous and wonderful! I stayed in one of the two smaller cottages and it was great. Had a private hot tub with no line of sight to anyone or anything but woods. Breakfast was served in the mansion's dining area and was all fresh with several ingredients being grown there.

Stunning mansion with beautiful private rooms. A delicious and plentiful breakfast was served every morning by a very friendly owner and staff member. The property is situated at the edge of town, but has the feel of a secluded country farm. I would highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed.

When we visited Hannibal, we stayed at the Mansion, we chose the John Garth room, spacious, comfortable, and clean. Our hosts were polite, attentive, and made sure our stay was memorable. The Mansion itself was beautiful, the breakfasts were delicious and elegant. Highly recommend it if you're in the area.

We brought our two kids (3 & 1) up to Hannibal for a night and chose to stay at one of the cottages. It was a great stay. The inn did a great job communicating and the innkeeper was awesome. Breakfast was great as well. Will def stay again if we go back to Hannibal.

My husband and I researched and choose Hannibal and Garth woodside mansion exclusively because of the availability of gluten and dairy free food. Garth Mansion also said they would have no problem cooking gluten and dairy free for me . While everyone else was served a three course breakfast I was served the food you see below. Eggs that were not fully cooked, 8 marble sized potatoes that were still hard in the middle and one piece of sausage. There was also a half of a brownish apple, two small slices of pear and two blackberries with homey on them. This is half the food the everyone else was served. For someone like me with the dietary restrictions it was so very exciting to go somewhere I could sit down and just get a breakfast like everyone else. That did not happen, I have never felt so different and disappointed

If i could give the Garth mansion 10 stars I would. We had the most amazing stay. We stayed for two nights, in the Rosewood room. They truly thought of everything when it comes to making sure you have a great stay. They had toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, soaps, shampoos, body wash, and lotion in your room just incase you neeed it. There was a smart tv in our room which was nice to watch what ever we wanted on demand instead of basic cable. It was so great to relax in the spa robes they have in your room and watch a movie by the fireplace. They have a butlers nook that is accessible to guests at all times furnished with snacks, water, soda, coffee, a large tea selection and hot chocolate. It was December and pretty cold outside during our stay so we had hot chocolate each night. The breakfast each morning was amazing. Tasted so good and look equally as beautiful. Angela the hostess of the mansion was so very nice and made sure we were happy at all times. I truly could go on for days about how amazing this place is. I highly recommend the Garth Woodside mansion and we will be sure to come and stay again.

My wife & I stayed two nights at the Garth-Woodside Mansion in Hannibal MO. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Mike. He and his wife, Mary, made us feel very welcome. Mike shared some of the history of the mansion, including the room where Mark Twain read/relaxed. Our room, Avie's Room, on the second floor was a bright corner room and quite comfortable. Although the bathroom was on the small side, there was plenty of room to spread out and relax. Each morning, Mike & Mary prepared wonderful multi-course breakfasts, including a mixed fruit bowl, homemade muffins, and main entree. The dining room was roomy and bright. The mansion itself, although out-of-town, was just a few minutes drive to the center of Hannibal. The Garth-Woodside Mansion was a great choice for our visit to Hannibal.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it! It was my first official B&B experience, and it definitely did not disappoint. The host, Angela, was so friendly and helpful about Hannibal recommendations. The breakfast was great, and I felt like I was in a quaint cafe! The rooms were very clean and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. An absolutely beautiful stay!

The hospitality is amazing at this B&B! We went with a group of friends for a weekend stay and we each had a wonderful time. Our room was beautifully decorated and so nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfasts served were delicious too. They are so accommodating and it was nice to roam the house and we were allowed to use every area of the building we were permitted to be in. We will definitely plan another visit in the future and I highly recommend this establishment to everyone else too.

We live in Lafayette, Indiana and often travel to Kansas City to see relatives. Hannibal is just about half way when driving through Illinois on I-74 (way more peaceful than I-70). Staying at the Garth Mansion always impresses me and I always soak in new features of this fabulous place. Mary is an excellent host and the breakfast items are all home-made and delicious.

Had my wedding here and it was beautiful! Mary and Angela were both so helpful in planning and accommodating! They made us a lovely charcuterie board and made an amazing dinner for our special day! Beautiful location ! Definitely recommend for just a stay as well , our cabin was lovely.

We stayed at the Dowager cottage. It was absolutley beautiful. The best place we have every stayed at. It was also the cleanest place we've ever stayed at. Our hosts were sweet and accommodated us with everything we could possibly need. They have mastered the attention to detail. We will definitely be back. What a nice way to get some rest and relaxation in. We could have not been blessed more. Thank you so much for the experience.

Our stay at Garth and our time in Hannibal could not have been nicer! The mansion was beautiful, and it was fun taking the step back in time. We hit Hannibal by luck on Festival Weekend! Perfect weather. Great shops in town, good food, and we went All day learning the history.

We were welcomed warmly and felt right at home. The room was furnished comfortably, was clean and the jacuzzi tub was definitely a plus! Our hosts were thoughtful and there was such great attention to detail. They asked for dietary restrictions for breakfast, and remembered that we drank decaf coffee when we were served. Breakfast was amazing! A two-course meal to start off the day strong! The property was quiet and peaceful, and was fairly close to downtown. I would highly recommend this stay if you are visiting Hannibal!

The mansion is gorgeous! Inside and out. Our room was cozy and clean. The mattress was hard and somewhat uncomfortable. The inn keeper was attentive and kind. Breakfast was good. It wasn't super fancy. Fruit, muffin, and the first day we had an egg bake. The second day was a French toast bake. You could get something comparable at IHOP. I did order a cake, and that was really great. Homemade chocolate with strawberries. Hannibal is a nice little town with a little downtown area great for roaming. Other larger cities are nearby for more fun. Check out the nearby wineries!

Magical hidden gem in Hannibal! Stayed at the stone Dowager house on property for a 50th Birthday weekend. Cozy bed, top quality sheets and towels. Huge jacuzzi tub and shower. Breakfast was home-made and delivered with a smile. Mary, the owner is very sweet and genuinely makes you feel at home with snacks and beverages. If you're coming to Hannibal, splurge and book this place for an unforgettable vacation.

We've never been at Garth Woodside Mansion and being there was a rare experience. We felt like we were going home to visit family. That's how it felt-- like real family. Got acquainted with the other guests and everyone was so friendly. The hospitality was amazing! The breakfast was sooo delicious. Thank you, everyone for making our stay wonderful.

Wonderful welcome. We stayed in the Queens Cottage because we aren't really BNB people. We were up and gone before breakfast, but the dining area looked very nice. Our cottage was awesome! Very clean and lots of extras, bug spray, popcorn, rain poncho.. just to name a few. Off the beaten path but only 10 miles from downtown historic Hannibal. A must stay!

Just fabulous! The house is beautiful, full of original furniture and history. Just far enough out of town to be serene but not too far to discourage you from quick trips. Lovely porch to sit on and ponder great thoughts. Comfortable room, excellent breakfasts - complete with Garthberry juice (my guess is a cranberry and orange mix) and simply superb staff. You know who you are.
