The church of San Esteban is located very close to the Canonjías neighborhood and the cathedral. Built at the beginning of the 13th century, the church is a Romanesque temple with a three-nave plan. On one side there is a portico with semicircular arches supported by double columns with sculpted capitals and decorated with human, animal and plant figures. During the 18th century and after a fire that seriously damaged the church, the interior was redone but without respecting its Romanesque origin and adopting the baroque forms typical of the time. However, some late Romanesque sculptures and a 13th century calvary are still preserved. Also in the 18th century it lost the original Romanesque apse. But what stands out most about the church of Saint Stephen is, without a doubt, the large six-story bell tower more than 50 meters high. It is one of the highest Romanesque churches on the Iberian Peninsula along with the church of Santa María la Antigua in Valladolid. At the end of the 19th century, lightning struck the tower, causing a fire that damaged it, leading to its restoration at the beginning of the 20th century. The first floor is completely plain, the next two with blind double-arch windows and simple archivolts on columns, the next two floors also with double-arch windows but already open and the last floor with triple windows with smaller arches. After the restoration carried out in the 20th century, a pyramidal slate spire with a steep slope was placed on the upper floor, which is crowned by a ball on which sits a rooster-shaped weather vane with a cross on its body, which makes it gives greater slenderness and elegance. Unfortunately, currently, you cannot visit the interior of the church as it is undergoing restoration. However, the greatest attraction of St. Stephen's Church is found on the outside, especially its bell tower. Although for me there is plenty of parking in the same square and the cars that surround a Romanesque church that is unique for its beauty and singularity.

It is a church built in the 12th century, in Romanesque style. Its large tower stands out, measuring 50 meters, which had to be rebuilt due to a collapse; it was the tallest Romanesque bell tower on the Iberian Peninsula. Inside you can see baroque style decorations.

This temple, originally built in the 12th century, is especially notable for its high tower, more than 50 meters high and with numerous semicircular arches. The temple had to be rebuilt in the 17th century after a fire. The porch is Romanesque and has numerous stone carvings.

Structure of three naves. Headboard renovated in the baroque period. The atrium and tower are from the 13th century. This is of considerable height and competes with that of the cathedral. Inside, a crucified figure from the 14th century stands out.

This beautiful church, which is located a few meters from the Plaza Mayor of Segovia, is a beautiful Romanesque temple, at least on the outside, and it is worth highlighting its imposing tower, which, at 52 meters high, is considered the largest tower. Romanesque throughout the Iberian Peninsula.

Beautiful church, near the Cathedral of Segovia, which as of November 2022 is in the process of restoration.

Iglesia de San Esteban - It comes from the twelfth century, surely supported on another earlier. It lost its Romanesque apse in favor of the horrendous current head crowned with a spire. It has three naves, double atrium and two covers. Inside it is possible to hide Romanesque elements covered by the many retouches, especially the Baroque. It maintains in one of its chapels a wonderful Romanesque Christ that belonged to the neighbor and disappeared church of Santiago and that has its own legend. On the outside, the atrium maintains part of the original floor with some tombs and enough capitals in not very good conditions, others must have been replaced. It is surely the most modern among the Romanesque of the city, as can be appreciated by its richness and sculptural perfection that is not only seen in the capitals, but in the corbels and metopes of its eaves.

Church of San Esteban (12th century), in Plaza de San Esteban in Segovia (Castilla). Romanesque church with three naves. 50 m tower. high, the tallest Romanesque tower, next to the church of Santa María la Antigua in Valladolid, on the Iberian Peninsula. The tower is said to have been paid for by Don Carlos Falconi, the natural son of a king of France, who was buried in the main chapel. Impressive porticoed gallery or Romanesque chapter, on the western and southern sides, where the doors are; The shafts of the twin columns of the atrium are made of granite - 17th century restoration. XX- in front of the original pink limestone of the capitals. Interior and other parts such as the headboard are the result of a baroque reconstruction (17th century), after a fire. The zinc roof of the tower with the rooster weather vane crowning it is the result of restoration by pp. s. XX. National Monument (1886).

La iglesia está situada en la plaza San Esteban. Posee un pórtico en la fachada meridional con diez arcos y capiteles adornados con grabados medievales. El interior, reconstruido en el siglo XVIII tras un incendio, es de estilo barroco.
