Have been using this dentist since the early 90's and though i left the area always returned to this practice. However for the last 12 months the service at the practice has been appalling never mind the covid restrictions but i have been trying to arrange a appointment since March this year to be continuously told they now only have now one dentist covering emergencies. Every time you call you are told to call back months later and then again can you call again in a few months and so on i have now given up and will go elsewhere,

Used to be brilliant but then our usual dentist retired. Appointments got cancelled which ended up with me having a failed tooth extraction, the extraction was at my request. Wasn't given any antibiotics had to go back following day to request some as was shivering and sweating uncontrollably. Dentist did apologise for not providing any the day before and admitted he should have. Wife called today after yet another cancelled appointment for my daughter to be told it will be May at earliest she can be seen. I'm still waiting to hear when I will get the rest of my tooth extracted, was told got sent over as urgent referral still waiting two weeks later. In pain, still can't eat properly and still taking co-codamol just try and get through the day. Started looking elsewhere now for treatment. Shame really was a brilliant dentist before covid struck.

Yes the reception staff are lovely. But the dentist and dental nurse was so rude! I paid 39 pounds for a private general consultation and it was only 5 minutes, with no "hello", no "goodbye", no feedback, no question or discussion. They just take 2 painful x-ray and said "ok you can go, please take a booking with an hygienist". I honestly don't think it's possible to do worse :(

Absolutely disgusting experience. Granddaughter was taken in over a rotted back tooth. Made worse by the fact that previous dentist closed book's. The dentist called my daughter and granddaughter disgusting because of bad back tooth even though the fronts are fine. As well as slandering them she then told both of them to get out (granddaughter is 9 and was terribly upset by dentist attitude) Was even threatened with Social Services! Will be following through with full complaint.

I just joined this dentist and they are great. Reception staff are lovely, and the hygienist Leo and dental nurse put me at ease. Joanne the dentist was very professional too. I have had bad experiences at the dentists in the past and nearly bled out post tonsillectomy so I am very wary of having any treatment around my mouth/teeth. I will stick with this dentist as they were very accommodating and I didn't get stressed at all. Thumbs up from me

I was seen today as one of my crowns had come off. Lovely dentist gave me full check up while I was there and even filled in a cracked filling. This has always been a wonderful practice and is working very hard for its patients at this very difficult time. Would recomend to anybody looking for a good dental practice.

If your nervous about going to the dentist, this is the one to go to. Very calm place. The dentists here are very caring and put you at ease if you were to have any treatment. I would certainly recommend this practice :-)

Horrific- don’t fall for NHS banding nonsense ! She shows no care zero interest unless you pay pay pay ! I have had to pay an additional £500 with another dentist on top of the £500 I paid her ! Absolute cowboys !

All of my family have always received excellent treatment from Mr Makinson, we have developed a good relationship with him, this is mostly due to the years he has looked after us. He has always put us at ease, we have confidence in the treatment he provides for us. The reception staff have always been polite, friendly and helpful.

When living in Liverpool this dentist and Mr Makinson were fantastic I had to move south and couldn't get one..However I finally did. I have never said thank you and I should have

Unprofessional and aggressive behaviour from the dentist Joanne, my previous dentist Mr Makinson was lovely. I was disgusted by the aggressive behaviour and lack of empathy. Would give a no star rating if it was an option. The practice is only intended for making money out of patients, and I was left feeling disrespected and with a large hole in my tooth, diabolical.

At MyDentist Bootle, the March 2023 staff is lovely - in person and on the phone. The dentists are also very nice and tolerant.

I'm a father with full parental rights. I have two children both see this dentist. This morning I was denied medical information about my two children. This is illegal. I wouldn't trust a dentist who brakes the law and has no regards for yours or your childrens rights. My children have not seen a dentist since march 2021. My eldest teeth have now twisted and are growing backwards. Updated 28.8.2023 Once again I've been denied basic information about my childrens teeth. The negligence from this dentist has resulted in my oldest daughter needing several surgeries. The attitude from the reception staff said it all. They're rude, unhelpful and very snotty. They put the phone down on me because I asked for the manager. Don't trust these people with your children.

This is on my wife's behalf. Got a cancellation appointment for a cracked veneer. Lady dentist fixed and repaired my tooth, all done within an hour and to a really high standard. Felt at ease with her. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Thanks from Ann McMillan

Not happy at all! I sent an email of my teeth for the dentist to look at. Well, apparently, receptionist did and she called me very rude and condescending in her tone. Id asked for a dentist to advise if I'm a candidate for crowns on the nhs due to another dentist telling me restoration work must be done soon to ovoid the damage getting to my roots, resulting in tooth loss. So she calls like "according to our records you've not even been since 2014!" With this tone and I'm like? Er, no and explained iv been referred back to maxiofacial not even long ago by their dentist? So she had the wrong person. Yet she continued with her condescending tone and instead said "well according to our records..you're a my options patient so you don't qualify no! So I said what about nhs? Continued with a now obvious snotty and rude and sort of laughing tone except not actually laughing. Sort of like she's getting off on this? So no they're not taking on nhs patients. So I said OK I'll look for one who will and I can tell she's buzzing when she said OK. And ended the call! Listen you! My teeth are a show thanks to nhs dentists destroying them! Thanks to covid and no appointments! You want me to pay you privately speaking to me like that? You can get lost! Will be finding a new dentist and btw I'm inheriting! So I will be paying privately for crowns if I'm not accepted for restoration on the nhs but if you think I'd see you again after speaking to me like that, you thought wrong! Typical snotty dentist or should I say receptionist, doing the bare minimum and wanting a fortune! Off to instanbul. You don't deserve my money and will not even see you again for a check up! Can't believe the state of my teeth and she didn't even advise a check up! She was that determined to look down her phone at me she just said OK and ended the call when I said I'd look for an nhs option? Absolutely disgusting way to speak to patients! Lose my number! No it's not a mistake and I find it odd with each negative complaint the patients can't be found? I had an appointment in February, I obviously have the txts it was at 1400, then one in March at 1450 and an emergency appointment as stated I paid 90/95 for 2 minutes in the seat to be referred back to maxiofacial. I assume the confusion is the txts say caroline and my name is Carolyn. Not that I blame you for that it seems to be a Liverpool thing that no one understands that Carolyn isn't a dialect it's a totally different name to caroline and it doesn't matter how many times I say Carolyn they repeate back caroline.

The surgery was very busy but my appointment was exactly on time. I was made to feel welcome for my first visit there. All the team were professional and the dentist gave me good advice about managing tooth sensitivity. I'll be back in 12 months!

After not being to a dentist for over 15 years I was apprehensive. Total professionalism and care for the patient. Nobody likes having dental treatment but, if you have to, I would highly recommend this practice.
