Sera Jey Guest House is beautifully located on the main road in the Sera Jey Monastic University having a huge campus. The campus is beautifully adorned with decorative plants with a small cafe in the frontside. Parking slot is sufficient. There is also a provision store near the gate of the guest house. This is comparatively best place to stay in this area.We should not expect the luxuries of foods and top class facilities facilities of a star hotel available here, but we can experience the Tibetan lifestyle and daily life of monk community in and around. The rent for double bed rooms on the first floor was 1500/- per day. They have an in-house canteen on the ground floor offering normal Tibetan food items like, momo, chowmin, thukpa, fried rice etc. as per the tastes of the local Tibetan and monk community.

I recently stayed at the Sera Jey Guest House for the second time. My last visit was in 2018, before the pandemic, and I returned for Christmas vacation in 2023, almost five years later. On both occasions, I was impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff and the delicious breakfast served in the guesthouse restaurant at early morning starts from 6am till 10am. The rooms were tidy and well-maintained. While there have been some recent renovations, I believe that the leftover materials need to be cleaned up in order to make the guesthouse even cleaner and safer, especially for children.

To be very clear, this is a guest house not a hotel. This being a place where people come to pray and meditate you'll find rooms that are BASIC so don't expect room service or TV or AC but you will be treated with kindness and generosity by the hosts. People looking for just some simple peace and quite will enjoy their stay.

If you want to spend some quiet time away from the din and bustle, then this is your place. Basic accommodation. Everyone here is warm, friendly, and helpful.

This is a monastery run guest house for visitors to the monastery. Very peaceful place within walking distance to the monastery.

Guest house is very close to nature and best for your vacation. It is affordable as well. I was there based on google reviews a week before the start of Tibetan festival and over phone I had confirmed my booking. They had confirmed that the guest house will be closed in two days so I can stay there only for those two days. I went there and the bed was dirty (lots of ants)but the staff over there changed the bedsheets and pillow cover. Then I enquired for food in their cafeteria and it is then they told me guest house and kitchen is closed. They were all laughing when I enquired for some cafes/restaurants nearby. They were like you can walk 2 3 kms and MIGHT get food in golden temple. Even JIO network was also poor. The receptionist and others gave a terrible welcome (poor service) and gave false confirmations that I immediately booked another stay and left that place.
