Don't believe the pictures, on google images it looks nice, but on arrival broken windows on the upper floor. 120 USD for 1 night, the gym "is being refurbished" aswell as the pool and the spa.... so 120 for just a room 🤨, needless to say the first room they put me in the balcony door wouldn't shut properly, so theu fixed it when I was there, then I had no water pressure in the bathroom. So they moved me to a new room, that did have water pressure but the built in jacuzzi in the bathroom didn't work. So I finally called it a day, got a refund and left, I recommend to avoid this place until they use the money they earn fixing the place up as the pool "that is supposedly being refurbished" I could see put of the window it was still full of water but it was closed off as the outside floor was in poor condition.

Well-appointed rooms. Warm and welcoming staff . The kitchen team was very sensitive to my need for pure vegetarian meal.

Definitely not the accommodations I expect for the price. It does however seem to be some of the nicest and Western friendly hotels in town. The rooms are reasonably clean and the common space is spotless. There are 3 restaraunts advertised as being on property. In reality there are 2, one of which was not open during my 4 day stay. The breakfast buffet is passable for a free buffet. Table service in the singular lobby restaurant requires effort on your part to find a server and request what ever you might need. It is usually empty so you are at least not competing with other guests. Finally, it does indeed have river reviews. The hotel is a bit off the shore leaving the view a bit lack luster. We used rewards points to book our stay and were grateful for the quality we did receive. I would not however recommend paying full price for this hotel.

Service was excellent, staff was very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location wasn't to far from any of the shops, probably a 10-15 minute walk. Breakfast was included with the room and it wasn't bad. Was offered the breakfast buffet the next day without charge and that was very good. The hotel is on a big lot with nothing around so at night it gets really dark if the street lights aren't on and you're trying to walk. The good side is that it's quit. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location. It is close to downtown Vientiane without being in the congestion. The view of the river is beautiful. There is a free shuttle service downtown but you must book it an hour ahead. There is a pool that is a great escape from the heat. The staff are polite and helpful.

Good value for money. Clean, large rooms. Marvelous location overlooking the Mekong River. Great walk from the hotel to the night markets. Hotel staff is very friendly. Make sure to explain very slowly in English. Try to get a river view room if you like to see a wonderful sunset across the river. Not much selection on buffet menu though.

I spent 14 days in quarantine at Donechan and was very disappointed with the discomfort of the bed, which was hard as a plank of wood, a very poorly functioning air conditioning and the lack of hot water in the bathroom. On the other hand, the worst part was the food, included in the price, but which was really of very low quality. Every day, morning and night, the same thing, boiled vegetables and tasteless meat resembling cardboard. The same meal served in the street should not cost more than 15,000 kip. Daring to serve such meals is a shame for this hotel, which I measure better now, when today I see friends who have spent their 40s in otherwise better hotels for a minimal price difference (only $ 10 more) and who at least ate properly. A positive point anyway, the hotel offers a view of the Mekong which is superb. But that is not enough to make up for the negative points of this stay.

The Chinese cuisine is excellent. Service is good. However I paid $10 for a very underwhelming American breakfast. Could have a breakfast buffet at other 5 star hotels for the same price
