All
along
I
had
a
very
high
impression
of
Disha.
I
had
at
least
four
of
my
relatives'
treatment
and
operation
done
from
what
I
used
to
feel
one
of
the
best
in
eye
treatment.
But
I
had
a
shocking
experience
today.
My
friend,
ex-professor
Allen
Da
Silva,
72
years
of
age,
had
his
cataract
operated
at
SankaraJyoti
Eye
Hospital,
Khardah,
by
Dr.
S
N
Das
in
the
month
of
May
2021.
The
cataract
removal
in
both
eyes
was
followed
by
a
procedure
of
retinopathy,
since
the
senior
doctor
diagnosed
bleeding
in
the
retina.
But
unfortunately,
as
per
the
feed
back
of
the
patient
,
vision
worsened
after
retinopathy.
When
complained
of
it
,
the
senior
doctor
expressed
his
inability
to
help
any
more
since
,
he
said,
the
retina
was
getting
degenerated
and
the
genes
of
the
patient
were
to
be
blamed.
I
made
an
appointment
at
Disha
for
my
prof
for
a
second
opinion
and
when
I
called
up
the
hospital,
the
customer
care
lady
recommended
Dr.
Somak
Majumder
for
the
cause,
since
he
happens
to
be
a
specialist.
Prof
Da
Silva
was
sent
with
my
son
at
2.15pm
at
Barrackpore
for
consultation.
The
specialist
was
extremely
rude
and
curt
with
this
old
gentleman
and
without
looking
into
any
paper
and
listening
to
the
purpose
of
his
going
there,
he
recommended
further
tests
and
referred
him
to
the
referral
desk
which
dispatched
them
with
a
further
appointment.
Prof
Da
Silva
isn't
going
any
more.
He
prefers
to
stay
half
blind
to
going
to
such
physicians.
I
would
request
Disha
authorities
to
see
that
patients
are
not
insulted
and
dealt
like
inferiors;
there
might
be
many
Prof.
Da
Silvas
who
have
gone
old
and
frail
now,
but
were
not
so
when
they
had
their
hour.
