Similipal, which derives its name from ‘Simul’ tree, is a national park and a Tiger Reserve situated in the northern part of Orissa’s Mayurbhanj district. The tiger reserve is spread over 2750 sq km and has some beautiful waterfalls like Joranda and Barehipani. The park is surrounded by high plateaus and hills, the highest peak being the twin peaks of Khairiburu and Meghashini

Must see place ...but go if ur back is alright ..bad roads as expected and it should be like that only ...120kms in one day not advisable ...make a point to stay inside ...barehipani location . Animal sighting is rare ...but they can't let u into core area as such ..

Good place stay few days. India's second longest waterfall Barehipani is present here. Deer can be seen easily, little difficult to spot tigers.
