Worst place I ever seen...it was like i was in jail. I know this is hostel, there must be rule regulations. But Shimulchaya's rule is terrible. you r allowed to go outside once in a day. If i have Class and tution both...I m not allowed to do so as per rule...food is non veg based and if u r vegetarian , u have only option to eat potato and potatoes stuff. I had bad experience over there. I went my hometown for 10 days and when i returned back , hostel authority convert my room in single seater( was double seater at first).and now they increase charge by 2500 suddenly without any notice. There were financial problem but I agreed to pay all amount. But they were not allowing me to stay in my room. Now she the lady(so called incharge) said me to shift in another room which was really small and uncomfortable room for me. And there were lots of reason...I just hate this place

One of my friend used to stay in this hostel.. Since we often had a talk, i exactly know what this hostel feels like. In the very beginning she used to say, everything is quite good except the restrictions of going out once a day and going out before 5:30. After 3 months or so came the real struggle. The lady of the hostel, she used to find some sort of excuse to blame one girl for may be wasting a food, shout on her and punish the whole hostel,like food can be taken once, after that even if u r left with rice, they wont give dal, or sabji! Can u imagine! Now the above thing happened because some people from aakash institute came to take review of the hostel, and the girl said that the quantity is really less(which is true, gonna realise after 1 month or so).. They say that they r gonna give 4 meals a day, but if u dont come before 7:30am which is the breakfast time, they would neither give u the meal, nor allow it to store in a tiffin if u dont go aakash. Horrible! Sometimes u will feel caged, deprived of food and respect... Be careful. My friend really struggled for a year,. Many of u may ask why she didnt leave,.. Let me tell u the reason. Suppose if get into the hostel in the month of june, and decided to leave in October, they will charge u the fees upto may.. They wont tell u this when u get into the hostel, but slowly as u develop hatred towards the hostel, that lady of the hostel will let u know the huge amount u have to pay before leaving, any middle class family would back off.

This place doesn't deserve a single star. This entire organisation is a scam. The owners will behave like angels before you enter the place, however it won't take a week before they expose their demonic selves. The hostel is just another way to develop a good profile for their NGO, so that they can ensure more and more grants. The internal situation is pathetic as hell. The single rooms are smaller than match boxes. They even offered a small kitchen as a single room by just putting a single bed beside the cooking slab. None of the rooms are provided with locks, which means the boarders will have no privacy at all. There is restriction on going out also. Now coming to food which were hardly edible. The breakfast was not provided even if you come at 8 am in the morning and if you do you'll get some milk tea flavoured water and some stale tasteless food. The lunch is vegetarian while dinner is "non-veg". The dal is basically rice water and the vegetable will make you cry. And even that they won't serve you a second time even if you are hungry. Coming to non veg, we were served rotten smelling fishes multiple times. Some of the boarders frequently suffered from digestion issues and loose motions due to unhealthy foods that were served. And no matter how bad and unhealthy foods they serve, they will keep you starving but won't allow you to use even an electric kettle to make yourself a bowl of maggi or soup. Moreover, they will make you feel vulnerable, powerless and captivated beggar every moment. I have never felt so low in my life like those days when I was staying in that hostel. I had to stay there for like four months when I initially shifted to Kolkata and believe me, those were the worst four months of my life. I am really thankful to myself that I decided not to accept this mal treatment and stepped out of the hostel. PLEASE PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO STAY HAPPY AND PROSPER IN LIFE.

It is a highly secured ladies hostel. Offering almost every facility. It has its own set of rules and regulations which are to followed by everyone. Moreover it is located few kilometres away from gariahat junction

This is the review by one of my frnd who left the hostel, frustrated, sick of their behavior. Initially they give food but after 2-3months they even degrade the taste of the food. Even when u give bad review about them and by chance they got to know it, they will torture u mentally, like nagging u for every little extra food u ask for, and ur clothes wont be washed clean.u will feel like a beggar, begging them free food 4 times a day. The lady of the hostel is also very rude once u enter the hostel, but before entering she is sweeter than honey. Goodness this hostel is a nightmare.

My daughter had been staying there for coaching classes. They neither give u enough to fill Ur stomach, nor do they let u buy from outside. They won't even let u maintain privacy. The doors don't have a lock, and the caretakers enter whenever they want, without asking ur permission... And they don't even let u give true review such horrific they r.they will terrify u saying what u will be the consequences u would face on giving bad (indeed true), review, because the lady or the owner of the hostel will shout on u for everything. Choose wisely.

Wish I had the option to review it zero star. Pathetic condition of food and lifestyle here.. Don't get mesmerized by the low prices and rooms of this hostel, cause in reality the life here in Shimul chhaya is hell. The owner of this hostel will treat you really well for the few days of joining but then comes the real struggle.. HEREIN I'VE SUMMARISED YOUR TO BE EXPERIENCE IN POINTS: 1. YOU WILL HAVE NO PRIVACY. They do not have any LOCKS on the doors and the caretaker woman has ANOTHER KEYS with her. 2.FOOD QUALITY AND QUANTITY IS ABSOLUTE LOW ALMOST NEGLIGIBLE. The food is without any taste and your taste buds will die. Even if you complain they won't improve it. 3.IF YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN THEN STRICT NO!!! You'll die of hunger here the vegetarian food is so bad.. You don't even give street dogs such food! 4. YOU CAN'T GO OUTSIDE TWICE A DAY. YOU CAN'T EVEN ORDER OUTSIDE FOOD AND EATABLES. 5. THE LAUNDRY SYSTEM IS THE WORST. Clothes will get holes and color will fade away quickly. You'll look like a beggar. And they won't let you wash on your own even then6. THEY DON'T EVEN GIVE EVERYTHING WHAT IS WRITTEN ON THE MENU. 6. THEIR IGNORE EVERYTHING YOU TELL THEM. THESE PEOPLE ARE ABSOLUTE SELFISH 7. THEY LITERALLY GIVE WATERY FLUID DAL, LOW QUALITY RICE, WoRST COOKED VEGETABLES LIKE EVEN BLANK SALAD TASTES BETTER, 2 BREAD FOR UR COACHING OR TUTION TIFFIN AND COLD AND STALE FOOD. 8. PAY EXTRA 2K BUT PLEASE PLEASE TAKE ANOTHER HOSTEL. DONT DIE HERE LIKE THIS ( TheRE ARE SURELY OTHER Ways TO SUICIDE) 9. THEY TAKE HALF OF THE WHOLE YR. FEES IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE THIS HELL. MIDDLE CLASS PARENTS CAN DEFINITELY NOT AFFORD THIS. 10. TELLING YOU LIKE AN ELDER BROTHER/ SISTER GO FIND ANOTHER PG/ HOSTEL. THIS PLACE IS A DISGRACE TO GIRLS AND THEIR PARENTS.
