What an amazing place to eat at! The ambience, the food, the music, the interior everything is beyond comparison. I specially loved the walls where people from different countries wrote messages in their own languages! Coming to food... Chef's special pizza is finger licking, very soft and moreover you don't know what surprise (different slices of the pizza may contain different food items๐Ÿ˜‰)will be in the pizza! Spicy Chicken Pizza is also very tasty! Oreo milkshake is also a recommended item from Shakes.Soufle di ciccolato is something I'll never forget, an excellent dessert, probably one of the best I've ever had. In conclusion I would say it's a reasonable cafe & you'll find very home made feeling in the food.

Hidden Gem (Without any doubt) !! The ambience is perfect, cozy, the staffs are good too ! Not only for the pizza tastes good, but each & every item tastes delicious. Try the different Pizza & Salads. Tiramisu is a Must ! The price is also OK ! You can also write your own personalized message on the Walls. Ideal place to unwind yourself after a rough day.

This is probably the most popular cafe in New Market area that doesn't need any introduction. They're very popular for their Spanish items but unfortunately when we reached, we only got Italian items. But the ambiance, food and service here was so amazing that I'll definitely visit them once again for their Spanish items. We ordered below items from their special menu. It's good that they've mention their specialty items on a board as well as staffs are very courteous to help. Iced Mocha @ Rs.150 (2/5) ----------------------------- I'm not a coffee guy so can't judge, but I didn't like it much. Espresso was too strong for me and whipped cream didn't go well with it, if you're into strong coffee you might like this. Garlic Pasta Fried Chicken @ Rs.320 (4/5) ------------------------------------------------ Their pasta was different, not very creamy rather very thin and light, well done fusilli with the perfect amount of cheese. But the turner was the fried chicken, it was excellent and a fabulous combination with the pasta. It was like fish and chips but solid portion of chicken inside the fry in place of fish. Polo Asado con pure de patata @ Rs 330 (4/5) ------------------------------------------------- Roasted chicken served with mashed potato dipped in butter. It tasted quite amazing. Chicken portion was quite big. A must try here. They're popular for a reason and that reason is in every segment. I'll surely visit them again for Spanish items. Prices were affordable. Highly recommended.

Visited this small hidden cafe at New Market area after being recommended by a friend. Simple but elegant place with an outdoor sitting arrangement. The staff is friendly and will give you a homely feel. Tried some : Darjeeling Tea, Ginger Lime Tea, Cold coffee and all the drinks were lovely. The Croquettes De Pollo was flavourful and portions were good. Margarita Pizza had the perfect thin crust and flavours. Pasta Aglio Olio Peperoncino was delicious as well. Enchiladas Verdes was nicely cooked with good flavours and sufficient chicken filling. The tomato sauce on the top gave another dimension to it. My most favourite was the Chicken Sandwich. Good amount of chicken and veggies and it was the best. Unfortunately wanted to try few other dishes but those werenโ€™t available. Surely coming again to try those. You can see a lot of young crowd at this place so itโ€™s really perfect for get together with friends or for dates.

The place is absolute delight for people looking to hang out with their friends and close ones. Itโ€™s cosy. The ambience is warm. And the walls are filled with words by numerous other people which impart empathy, support, their memories, and their message. The walls make you feel welcome. Make you feel more at home. But a cafe is not just about its atmosphere but also itโ€™s food. And the the quality of food is actually amazing. One should really try their chicken burger. It is an absolute delight. One could work, one could laugh and one could enjoy all they want. This place has everything for everyone. PS: I just hope every food on their menu was available. I hope this changes soon.

Raj Spanish Cafe is a cozy cafe located in Sudder Street, Kolkata. The cafe has a young and vibrant atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The menu features a variety of dishes, including pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, and desserts. I recently visited Raj Spanish Cafe and tried the pizza and roasted chicken. Both dishes were delicious, and the portions were generous. I also tried the Kashmiri khawa, which was a bit disappointing. The khawa was supposed to be a blend of spices and tea, but it tasted more like green tea. Overall, I had a good experience at Raj Spanish Cafe. The food was good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. I would definitely recommend this cafe to others. Pros: Cosy ambience Young and vibrant atmosphere Friendly and helpful staff Delicious food Generous portions Cons: Kashmiri khawa was disappointing 4 wheeler parking can be difficult to find Overall: Raj Spanish Cafe is a great place to go for a casual meal with friends or family. The food is good, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting. I would definitely recommend this cafe to others.

Recently visited Raj's Spanish Cafe that serves authentic Spanish food in Kolkata along with other Mexican and Italian dishes. Located just opposite Simpark Mall(a walking distance of 5min in Sudder street). The quality and quantity of the food was really really good! Went there for the pizza especially since it is prepared in a special technique in a wood fire oven. Also tried the meatballs and chicken combo which tasted absolutely "yum-yum" ! Food is served fresh and hot. The service is top notch, the environment is cozy and wonderful. Loved the overall graffiti work, quite photogenic indeed. Loved everything about it. A highly recommended place and astonishingly very pocket friendly! Tried their: - Chicken combo (Fried chicken with salad, fries and coke) -Albondigas en salsa espanol(Chicken meatballs served with fries and bread) -Pollo e funghi pizza(with mushroom and chicken toppings)

Visited this place two days ago after seeing it on Instagram reels. 5/5 for me. The place has a really nice vibe and is very aesthetically pleasing, the walls are covered with messages and quotes from customers. The outdoor seating is beautiful and there's music playing on the speakers. The menu has Mexican, Spanish and Italian dishes. THE PIZZA IS AMAZING, 10/10 MUST TRY. I would also recommend the Honey Lime Soda, it's something I haven't heard or tried anywhere before ( 9.5/10 ).

This cafe is very beautiful with grafitti adorning its vibrant high walls and relaxed, laid-back seating arena, both indoor and outdoor. The ambience is ideally suited for couple and friends for an intimate evening. However the main turn-off is the food here. Exorbitantly priced with mediocre taste at best. I have no inkling how this place has managed to get such a high rating with reverend phrases thrown around it such as "under-rated" and "hidden gem". We were so overwhemled with the menu and the google reviews that we asked our table attendent for his recommendations. Accordingly, we ordered spicy chicken pizza(Rs.500) and Tiramisu cake(Rs.250). The 12-inch pizza had a thin and super crunchy crust, but the raw smell of the refined flour was still lingering. The toppings, made from bits of chicken with cheese and some sauce, was very sparsely scattered. Though the 8 pieces of pizza satisfied my hunder prangs, it never touched my soul. Coming to the dessert, the Tiramisu cake tastes okay, but it is not worth the price. Needless to say, the presentation was top-notch with coffee powder sprinkled all over(don't believe me? Check the photos below) I wanted to visit this cafe for a long time, mainly because of the reviews and the hype created by the (somehow paid) influencers. But any pizza lover worth his salt will never recommend this joint. I visited this place on a saturday evening after being buzzed from a nearby watering hole of Metro Gully, and came out dejected. This parlour doesn't live upto its expectation. I will not recommend this place to anybody, even to the locals. There are far better alternatives available out there nearby. I myself am not coming back to try anything else off their menu.

Small cafe in Sudder Street but serves excellent coffee and food in terms of quality. Price is very reasonable. Itโ€™s my favourite place to visit whenever I am in Lindsay Street. Must visit for a warm experience. FYI, try to avoid Saturday and Sunday as it can get very crowded and you will have to wait & share a table with others.

In the midst of remains of hustling and bustling business lanes of New Market, lies this hidden gem of a restaurant which tries to bring Europe on the plate. To start with if coming by metro this is closer to the Dharmatala metro station rather than Park Street. So we had ordered 01 Bruschetta 02 Huevos Rellenos 03 Huevos Rotos 04 lced Mocha 05 Lasagna De Pollo 06 lced Cafe Latte 07 Tiramisu 08 Affogato 09 Pollo E Funghi Pizza ADDON: โ€ข Garlic โ€ข Oregano 10 Mountain Dew 11 Iced Tea 12 Gambas Al Ajillo 13 Croquetas De Pollo 14 Fresh Lime Soda 15 Pisto Manchego And here are the Pros and Cons: 1. Food is very similar to the European standard, they have not tried to Indianize the cuisine. 2. The vibe is pretty good. The crowd is also very happening! 3. Affogato was the best coffee I have ever had in Kolkata, moreover getting an Affogato in Kolkata was a dream come true. 4. Croquetas De Pollo was also very tasty! 5. The Tiramisu was one of the best Tiramisu I ever had! 6. The menu is pretty long and diverse. They serve Spanish, Mexican and Italian cuisine. 7. Huevos Rellenos is a must recommendation. The tuna filling was just delicious! Improvements: 1. I suggest the bruschetta can be improved in taste, it missed the garlic and the basil flavour! 2. They should try to open a branch in a better location !

The food is hands down delicious. Specifically the pizza has fingerlickin good. The only disadvantage is the ambience here. It has become a bit gloomy after the pandemic. But the staffs are really hospitable and friendly there. I would prefer to go there in the evening for a better ambience.

It's one of the hidden gems of the city. All foreigners know about this place because it is located within the bylanes of Sudder Street. The entrance to this place will make you realise that this place wants to remain camouflaged. And for good reason too. It has wood smoked pizzas which are a delight to devour. And the ambience of this place during winter is very very different. The walls are adorned with messages written by customers in a myriad languages who have come to Kolkata from all around the world. It has no AC so it is difficult to sit during the Kolkata heat. But if you visit New Market in the winter, do give this place a try. It's desserts are really really good. But refraim from trying the Chef's Special Pizza as it had some kind of a fish and spinach in it which, Boy do I need to tell you, DOES NOT GO WELL AT ALL. But I will definitely come down here again to try the tiramisu and the pizzas againโค

Amazing food! The pizza, the lasagna, the roast chicken, the brilliant salads - everything. Even the beverages, absolutely fantastic. Itโ€™s usually crowded, but it has an outside seating arrangement too - which on a pleasant day is a great place to be. The prices arenโ€™t that expensive and you can write your personal messages on the wall!

Reviewing this place is height of audacity I feel. This place needs no introduction. Tried tuna salad, tuna sandwich, pasta, lime soda and ice team. I also tried a particular dish which was made by staffing tuna in egg whites, don't remember the name. Everything was amazing. Budget friendly. And tried Tiramisu , which felt like winter in my plate. The best dessert I have had so far. Although I am not a sweet tooth. Please visit and have anything you like. If you can't choose, ask them to suggest or google before ordering. Have a nice time there.

They have very compact area, they have arrangements of open air table and also have AC room. Food was quite good but all the mentioned foods are not proper like the style of the foods and taste is is different form the origin buy still it's a very known for Spanish and Italian foods, lots of foreigners are going there for the food options they have maintained. But that I can say the washroom was truly worst ever i have ever experienced. Trash in the basin, worst smell, unclean and also this washroom which is common for the others stalls over there, so much annoying, I literally not able to click the pictures of the bathroom cause it's really been a worst nightmare for me.

I'm writing this review after my 2nd visit.. I simply loved the food of this place in my 1st visit, so I was literally waiting to visit again to try out their other delicacies. The owner and the staff are just lovely people. 1st visit order: Spicy Chicken Pizza, Freslime soda, Soufle Di Cioccolato The pizza was just mind-blowing, I love the simplicity and authenticity of this dish with their tomato sauce, chicken, and mozzarella.. next, the dessert is just delightful.. The hot chocolate cake with molten chocolate and the, cold vanilla ice cream is the perfect combo.. 2nd visit order: Roasted chicken, garlic pasta fried chicken, lasagna de pollo(takeaway), Tiramisu, and fresh lime soda. Now, the only disappointment I had was the roast chicken. The chicken was overcooked, and so it was tough and dry. The mashed potato paired with it was great, but I struggled to finish the chicken due to a lack of some sauce and dryness. The garlic pasta was just love.. the creamy pasta woth the paired chicken was just amazing. Now, I have my greatest praise for the Tiramisu.. Honestly, I had this dessert a few times but was disappointed, but here the Tiramisu is just authentic and amazingly delicious.. I was very satisfied with the dessert and so I packed 2 more for take away.. This has become my go-to place now whenever I visit Kolkata.. especially when I crave tiramisu and pizza..

A pleasant diversion amidst the crowded Esplanade area. It's easily accessible from the old new market area. They serve some Mexican, Italian and Spanish dishes, partially adapted to the Indian pallet. We tried Pollo asado, Gambas and Chocolate souffle. Pollo asado is roasted tender chicken (whole) sitting on butter, olive oil and garlic sauce. It is served along with mash potato. Gambas shrimp is another delicate dish that comes with Italian bread and salad The chocolate souffle was the best. Hospitality was excellent. The two owners and the manager , answered our queries regarding these dishes and also spoke about their passion and core competence that made their venture a success and sustain over a period of time. Other reviewers have spoken at length regarding the ambience, I don't have anything to add further. Instead, I'm attaching a video clipping showing the ambience as we entered the cafe from outside.

Visited on a weekend after a long time and was stunned by the sheer quality and variety of authentic Spanish and italian food items. We had quite some different varieties of food including Chicken pizza, Lasagna, Albondigas en salsa. The tiramisu cake and the souffle di ciccolato are to die for. Excellent staff behaviour too. Only downside is that the cafe somewhat feels a little cramped and is located a bit far off from the main street. Will visit again soon :-)

I recently visited Raj's Spanish Cafe and had a delightful experience. The quality of the pasta, pizza, and refreshing drinks was exceptional. The graffiti and overall ambience added a unique touch to the atmosphere. Prices were surprisingly affordable, making it a great value for money. The location is conveniently accessible, although it tends to get quite busy in the evenings. The food, atmosphere are all average. they can speak Spanish and behaviour are good. somehow, due to networking or maybe because of the location, it's a frequent dining place for foreign travellers.... We had lasagna de pollo (chicken lasagna), french fries and some meatballs gravy that i forgot the actual name.. The food was a bit too salty for me... The wall graffiti was awesome though... alcohol available. it's not appropriate for family dining. maybe ok for a casual date, or friends hangout. Not exactly kids friendly.

A decent place to hangout near new market area. Food is nothing to write home about except for few items, i.e., grilled chicken, tiramisu, coffee. Ambiance is more or less okay as long as the owner agrees to turn on the ac! The main waiter/owner behaves like a kinda know at all persons most of the time.

*Follow kolkata.foodie.dibyajit at Instagram and Zomato for more drooling pics and unbiased reviews* Raj Spanish Cafe is a hidden gem on Sudder Street, undoubtedly. The orange wall with scribbles on it, the photographs, the guitar and the books add a new dimension to the ambiance and the decor. On the wall, you will find a writing saying 'Thank you for bringing a bit of Spain in India' which is absolutely true. I doubt whether there are any other Spanish Restaurants in Kolkata which is visited by a large number of Spanish tourists. Needless to say, every time I visit this place, it is only because of the ambiance and the food. I am coffee lover and hence, Expresso Con Panna and Cafe Bombon are my favorites. I like the Ensalada Pollo that they serve. The pan fried chicken that they serve with this salad adds to the real great taste of the dish. Burrito is something to die for but please make sure that you at least have 40 minutes in hand to enjoy this dish. Except these, the Chicken Burger is also out of this world, at a reasonable rate. I have heard from other foodies that this place is making great pizzas and hence this is on my cards when I visit this place next time.

Great food, best wood fire pizza in Kolkata. Pasta was not that great, but surely the pizza is a must try. Ambience not up to the mark but authentic food. Truly amazing experience. Loved the food.

A wonderful atmosphere with amazing food and attentive staff. This is a great place to spend the afternoon or evening with friends or family. Over the years Raj's Spanish Cafe has only become more accommodating and friendly. There is a huge range of foods from different continents to try. The pizza is a must!

This place has okayish ambience. The food is good though. I had Iced Mocha which tasted really good since I'm into coffee. I also tried the lasagna, which is a famous dish of theirs. I had seen reviews about it but tbh, it was overhyped. Don't get me wrong , it is good but not like other places where they'll bake it and give it to you in the container itself. Maybe it's pre cooked and they serve it on a plate after heating. Not really sure about that. The service is really good. They are maintaining protocols of covid prevention and have updated their menu to a digital one. You can scan and choose the order from your phone. I think this is a good initiative by them. If you're around esplanade, you can drop a visit there. I am gonna try their wood fired pizza the next time .

Loved each and every dish we had today! We had Pasta con pollo e funghi, cold coffee, and Soufle Di Cioccolato. The pasta was creamy and delectable, the cold coffee had too much ice but was tasty, the soufle was amazingly sinful โ™ฅ๏ธ I wish it followed some kind of sanitization processes.... other than that the food was amazing.

Filthy ambience. Breakfasts are delicious. But overall service was pathetic. There was thick dust on table & spoons, even when told about that, they were reluctant to change. Washroom & way to washroom not cleaned regularly. Only reason to go is food is ok type in reasonable rate. Overall service & maintenance as cafe not good.

Visited the place today. It was awesome, the ambience, the people and the food. Very healthy. People can have breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Prices are very reasonable. The best Spanish Cafe I've ever seen.

This is a quaint cafe set in the corner of Sudder street. It can be a little hard to find as its set a little inside a complex, ask for directions the first time you get there. Coming to the ambience..its good but not great. Its non ac, so better avoid it during the summer afternoons. What really shines in this restaurant is the food. Many of their items like pollo asado..aka roast chicken, chicken sandwich, chicken burger ..the pizza...true thin crust wood fired oven pizza...are great. A must visit place if you are near Indian museum or park Street for any errand.

Good staff, tasty wholesome pocket friendly food, comforting ambience and CLEANLINESS, this place has got it all. But please call and check for the availability of dishes. Went there with my parents today, the staff was very cordial and helpful, they are following all the Covid guidelines be it digital menu, total non-contact experience or all over cleanliness in general. The walls are decorated with writings all over and with soft music playing in the background it was a very good experience! We ordered : A Vegetarina pizza Veg. Sandwich Veg. Pasta All of which were of good quality and taste. The flavours didn't blew my mind but I felt content after the meal.

Amazing ambience. Great food. Quite accessible. Great people. The best thing is your pizza is made from the scratch and in a brick oven. A must visit place.

It is a nice cafe. A cozy place if i describe it. You can easily spend some quality time and chat comfortably without getting interruptions. The staff behaviour is also so polite. I would recommend that you go during the lunch time, then it will be less busy. Now coming to the food part, they were quite affordable and the quantity is also good. I would definitely recommend the "Polo asado con pure de patata" a.k.a roasted chicken enough for 2 persons. P.S. they have a pet dog who is super friendly and super lively ... Definitely meet with him.

Good food, nice ambience, would recommend visiting during late evening. Famous for Authentic continental cuisine. The owner is pretty good, and the crowd is also amazing. Pink Sauce pasta needs improvement, but the pizza was amazing. The deserts here are the best. Overall experience: Value for money

Ambience is good. You can get Italian, Mexican as well as Spanish food at reasonable price. Have seating arrangement inside as well as outside. Smoking is also allowed in the outside seats. A homely experience. Since the day I've discovered Raj's Spanish Cafe in the corner streets of Park Street, I've found myself walking in again and again for its comfortable ambience and lip smacking amazing food. Raj's Spanish Cafe is one of the best places to try continental food, at an affordable price range. The pizzas are absolutely amazing. Such a thin crust, and the tangy touch of the marinara makes you swoon from the inside.
