Lovely place to visit and enjoy. Liked serene beauty of the place. Cool breeze all over the places from Lake has made it more attractive. Food quality is also good. Loved hospitality at reception as well as by restaurant boys serving food. They also arrange battery driven car to help you reach the place. Enjoyed a happy weekend over there.

It took approx. 1.5 hours for the kitchen to put the food on the table after placing the order. And, we were only 3 people that ordered only few items. By that time, people at different table were visibly upset. Children were hungry and crying. Some of the tables were canceling the orders. Even though the outside water body was stunning to look at but with an empty tummy even the beauty was bleak. The staffs were mixed bag. Some of them were quite polite and were soft to handle the agitated eaters. And, some of those seemed to be relics out of an institution without work ethics. Having said all of this, question is why still then a 3 star. It is the "taste" that wins the day. The overall experience was not what we expected but the taste of the food was pretty good. If someone wants to try Bengali cuisine for the first time, I would gladly recommend them about this restaurant. Basanti Pulao, Mutton Kassa, Mutton Dakbunglow (although the egg was missing), Hing-er Kachuri were very good. The Fish Fry was good but not as good as last time when we visited couple of years back. However, here is a tip. While after reaching Cafe Ekante, if you see that there is a marriage celebration and banquet is reserved, and if you are hungry, I would recommend you to about turn, and find out another place nearby. There are several. The food at the banquet is served from the same kitchen as the Cafe Ekante. That was why it took arbitrary long to get our food at the restaurant.

A lovely dining place for families and friends. Everything from the building, decor, surrounding environment especially the lake in the background creating a fairy-tale atmosphere, menu, service is 5*. Specially commendable is the excellent behaviour of the staff. Highly recommended for all.

I have heard about Cafe Ekante from my friends and decided to go for lunch when we visited Eco Park. We were so much tired for our day out and exploration of the park and became very hungry. According to the location showing in map when we reached one end gate of Eco park the guards said that if we take that path we can't re-enter the park. The cafe is in island so there is free ferry service from the ferry ghat to reach the restaurant from Eco Park. It was totally our mistake that we took the wrong path. I'm sharing my experience for awareness. Then after a total back when we came to the ferry ghat we waited for 5 to 10 minutes for launch and when we finally arrived there was no table for then. They have two different outlets in the same place in which one is for Bengali cuisine and another is for Chinese. We were ready to go for either but both of them were packed up. We decided to wait. But the service is so slow that we have to wait for more than 1 hour to enter. Since the place is small we could see the laziness of work and clearly that was increasing the waiting time. I would like to mention that the day was a holiday and I have no idea about the regular days. Alfer all these I'm giving the four star because the food was really very good. The price of the foods are a bit high but food taste and ambiance and the seen from the restaurant all are very good.

Parking is available for two wheeler and four wheeler... No prior booking needed.. it's first come first serve basis..

Everything is good except the ambience. You need to be really lucky to get a table along the edges of the boat restaurant. In case you get one in the inside cabin, the ambience gets pretty noisy. It might feel a bit congested when every table gets occupied

The restaurant and cafe are amazing for everyone who wants to sip on coffee or enjoy food with a view. There are two cafes- one serving Indian dishes and the other serving Chinese dishes. You could either opt for a fancy lunch on the pretty houseboat or have coffee and snacks on the open, roofless deck during sunset. Try the bhetki fry and the soups in Chinese preparations.

Cafe Ekante - The best location for beautiful photos in kolkata. No doubt, it is very well decorated and positioned. Staff behaviour was also good. We dined in both restaurants inside cafe ekante. Even though they provide wonderful location to dine in, but they lack cooking skills for sure. Both the restaurants (including the houseboat) Food was "okayish" as compared to the price they are charging. That brings it down to 4 star! You may or may not require advance booking. Please contact restaurants prior to arrival. Apart from that AWESOME WEEKEND GETAWAY ☺️

There are two cafe's side by side. I believe one serves drinks as well. The food was nice. Can't tell it was awesome. But the ambience of the place was awesome. You can check the same in the pictures I posted.

It's one of the most beautiful restaurants I have visited so far. The location is amazing. And the decorations and vibe just fit perfectly with the scenery. Also the food here is delicious. Specially the soups, they are just amazing. Portion sizes are enough. Most people think the prices will be very high based on its location and ambience but it's not at all the case. Prices are quite reasonable and affordable. The food is also great taste wise. Might need a few little additions in their desert menu. The ambience is awesome. Best place to have a family dining. And last but not the least the service is also very upto the mark. Staffs are helpful and polite.

It's located on an island in eco park lake. We came in our vehicle and were dropped off near the bridge that connects to the island. Ambience is great. There are two restaurants, one on the house boat and the other just beside it.

Definitely not a place to go. The counter guy was very rude and doesn't have manners to treat customers. Good for nothing. Tea was very average. the environment is worth to sit and have a short discussion.

They have 3 options to dine. One you can select the Bengali restaurant which is outside the houseboat. They serve all kinds of Bengali cuisine. Second is the buffet that they arrange in the open space in front of the houseboat and the third is the houseboat itself. The ambience was nice. You get a view of the lake while enjoying your food. The food was expensive. I think the cost is for the ambience and the experience of dining in a houseboat. Otherwise the food was quite average. We waited for about 30 minutes before getting our food. The staff are super lazy. There is no coordination among themselves. If someone wants to get the experience of dining in a houseboat, then you can visit this place otherwise there are many good restaurants in Kolkata.

Superb ambience! And splendid atmosphere, too good time spend some time with your loved ones. Talking about the food, taste is really awesome, I had my best kulcha in this place. Though prices is on higher side , but there was no compromise with taste and hygiene. Only con: is that you will have hard time to find a cab while returning from the place.

It's a beautiful place for small outing. You will have to enter through Gate 1 of eco park and avail boat facility to reach cafe ekante. This boat trip is free of cost. But if you want to go by walking then you need to purchase a coupon costing 300/- per person. It is available online too. Good thing is this coupons are adjustable with your food bill in the restaurant. There are two restaurants on the island. One is a floating restaurant which has only Chinese options available whereas the other one serves other Indian, continental dishes. The scenic beauty of the boat is awesome. However, not advised for a full course lunch or dinner at least for the Bengali visitors. The quality of food is out of question in both places. The cost of food is little on the higher side. We spend around 3900 for moderate lunch for 4 adults and 2 children. The taste was however quite satisfying.

Food quality, taste was brilliant. I like spicy food. A bit on the costly side - 700 for one. Quantity was on the low side. Ordered chilli garlic noodles and tangra chicken. The noodles is not '2 for 3' (as the they said) it is only 'one for one'. The chicken dish had around 10 pieces. Gravy was on low side. Atmosphere was calm . Customer service was as expected.

I will rate it good only for the ambience. We have tried Chinese cuisine and it was not up to the mark that chowmin was half cooked. The rice was hard and the test of the other dishes were almost the same. For food. I will give only three star but the ambience is good. Both are available from gate number one till 11:00 p.m. For the Indian menu there was a separate section and the Indian items were good. We have tried fish and chicken. Both taste good. I especially don't like West Bengal chief minister's photo on the restaurant wall.

In Cafe Ekante, you will get two options. One is Houseboat and another is normal resturant. In houseboat you'll get different types of Chinese food items which we had ordered. And in resturant you'll get North Indian dishes. Food is delicious and somewhere somehow justify the money you spent there. Because the ambience and the view from the houseboat is awesome. Overall I'll suggest the houseboat for the view and feel.

The timing of the Cafe ekante starts from 1 p.m. Now, if you want to go there you need to wait at the jetty of eco park or you can simply enter from the other side of the lake connecting directly from main road. If you are entering from eco park, the boat will take you to the restaurant, which has three separate sections, one is Chinese, another is Bengali, the other one is Buffet lunch outside in the lawn. I read recommendation from the Zomato and Google that there is Indian also available, but it is not available now. You need to wait there for at least one and a half hours after penning down your name in the queue. After ordering the food you need to wait for at least half an hour also. **So the total waiting time is almost two hours** (provided you are lucky) We arrived early even before 1 p.m. But got our food at 3 p.m. Now you can understand our frustration. the people working over there are overqualified to be receptionist and waiter, mismanagement is everywhere in that place. So basically you are already annoyed and you are not in the mood to have food. Coming to the food we opted to go for a la carte Bengali restaurant, and what we found that options are very limited, even some of the items are not available (disappointed at not getting the jhur jhure alubhaja). But what we found that the quality of food is splendid and in quantity too. We ordered - 1. bhetki fish fry 2. bhetki macher paturi 3. Cox Bazar Chingri Pulao 4. Daab Chingri Bhetki fish fry was ravishing. When we asked for kasundi, we had to wait for 10 minutes to get the kasundi. Cox Bazar Chingri Pulao is a must try there, never had something like this before. Bhetki macher paturi is just love to every Bengali food lovers. Daab Chingri was just heavenly, Gravy was mouth watering and the Chirgri mach melted into our mouth. ** PRICE ** What people usually complain about it being highly expensive, we didn't find that because their portion is satisfying. bhetki fish fry was given two pieces in one plate. vetki paturi was also of two pieces, Daab chingri contained 6 succulent Golda Chingri & in case of Cox Bazar Chingri Polao you need to take 2 plates for 3 persons. Now it is your choice whether you will go to this place or not, the journey to the centre of the lake was very romantic & soothing but the waiting time is certainly too much & you cannot do much activity at the center!

It is mainly famous for it's supreme view. Island is very beautiful. If you want a romantic place, must visit in evening and you can stay overnight as well. There are beautiful cottages .

Nice place and food. I love their Bhetki macher items ❤️. I didn't like was serving. We have to call them to place your order, they wont come to take your order. You have to wait long enough to get the food served. The worst part was ordering Brownie with ice cream. The ice cream was good but the brownie was nkt fresh at all. It tastes so bad 😖 and you have chop the brownie because its not fresh so its not soft either.

It was ok. Not too good nor too bad. Boat journey was awesome. But food was not so great according to price. I had taken buffet at 750+GST. Items available in the menus was soft drinks, luchi, alurdam, sada vat, sukto, dhania chicken, chilli vetki, basanti polao, mutton kosa, golap jaman, noler gur er rosogolla, chatni and papor. I only liked golap jaman. Overall review: Buffet is not recommended.

Never seen a more congested restaurant than this during covid! No social distancing, tables are placed close to each other. On top of it, most staffs don't wear their mask properly. However, the food was good.

Café Ekante is fabulous place, we stayed there for couple of days, enjoyed fully and the best part was the platform on water attached with our cottage.

The ambience is good. The veg food was also ok. Crispy chilly babycorn and halka noodles. The coke which they serve in glass is not even 200 ml proper and they charge for 300 ml. The cold drink should be given in sealed bottles or cans, a suggestion which I have been giving for a very long time without any action. The location is an advantage and the outside beauty amazing.

Cafe Ekante is hosting Ilish Parbon from 30th June to 15th July (2023). After coming across this advert we decided to visit the place. Lunch starts from 12:30. You need to buy tickets to get inside (₹300 per person which needs to be paid online via UPI). You can show this ticket during billing to get the same amount as discount. We ordered Steamed Rice, Chanar Dalna, Ilish Bharta (tasted best and quantity was sufficient for 3-4 people), Tel Ilish, Ilish shorshe and Ilish Paturi. Amongst these we loved the paturi the most since it felt like the Ilish was not marinated properly or cooked in the gravy for long. The fish taste was good and priced moderately, although these were not fresh but cold storage fish from last year. When we visited, it was around 3 in the afternoon. The restaurant was not packed yet it took them around half an hour to serve us the dishes. Overall it was a ok experience and suggest everyone to give it a shot, just for the Ilish Bharta.

The glasses were dirty on asking for replacement the waiter was like I don't see any dirt neither in water nor in glass and he just washed the glasses and gave them back. Food is expensive and quantity is kind of okay but good in taste. The atmosphere is really good.

I recently had lunch at a houseboat restaurant and it was such a unique experience! The food was delicious and the view of the water was breathtaking. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

It is a lovely place with a great ambience. However a few small things that the restaurant should address... Firstly, if certain dishes from the menu are not served due to the supply or demand, that needed to be pointed out while the menu card was distributed. That way the customer won't be disappointed after deciding on the food and learning it was not available. Secondly, we ordered one mutton and one chicken kossa with other stuff. We were told that the flavours and the tastes would be different. However both had the same gravey. Still a must visit. We will definitely be coming back.

we went there few days ago but we had a very bad experience. atfirst the ferry service will start if the total passenger more than 12. so we had to wait outside for more that 30 mins....its very wrong process... now comes to the restaurant.. ambience wise its quite good. but they dont have any professional staff. very poor service.. now comes to the food...as per garnishing its ok ok but quality wise not so good...you can get better quality food at roadside hotel...as per Restaurants food & service quality my opinion is they are expensive....
