The flower show arranged by KMDA was very nice and attractive. We took the opportunity of flower photography. Persons posted there for help of the visitors were cooperative. Only difficulty is the distance. It will be very much difficult for Senior citizens to reach there.

The Durga Museum was not on my list on arriving in Kolkata, but I’m so glad I discovered it! Located on the south side of Savindra Barovar Lake near Gate 2 of the park, this is a gorgeous gallery housing 15 contemporary depictions of the goddess by 15 different artists. The first view on walking in is breathtaking, and each work is so detailed, unique, and beautiful that we spent quite a bit of time studying and appreciating them. Do note the hours: 5 AM - 10 AM, then 3-5 PM.

Kolkata's first Durga Museum. Located on the south side of the Rabindra Sarovar lake. It preserves the stunning artwork of pandals. Do visit if you haven't visited yet. Timings: Monday to Sunday (7am to 9am and 3pm – 5pm).

Great initiative, fair execution. A nice opportunity for a detour when you visit Rabindra Sarobar. "Maa Phire Elo" - the name of this art gallery enunciates the cause:This gallery houses Durga pratimas from various pandals and various years, giving us an opportunity to treasure some of the charismatic constructions of the past. The expanse is neat and "to-the-point"; could've done better with additional ornamentation. Very amazing place it is. It is situated nearby Lake Gardens railway station, nearest metro station is Rabindra Sarobar metro. Inside the museum a huge Maa Durga murti and a tower. It is very awesome place.

Durgas of the city unite! Here lies the sanctuary for retrospecting Durga Pujas of the bygone year. Within these hallowed walls, the illustrious Durga idols from renowned thematic Pujas across the city find their abode. Among them, a permanent exhibit commands reverence – the intricately carved Mahogany Durga from Chetla Agrani Club, a masterpiece sculpted by the diligent hands of Bhabatosh Sutar. Yet, the passage of time ensures change, and every year, new idols grace this complex, replacing their predecessors. Here, the preservation of Durga Puja transcends mere idols; it extends to embrace some of the most exquisite and rare pandal artworks. Esteemed committees, including Sinthee Bondhu Dol, Bosepukur Talbagan Club, Hindustan Park, Naktala Udayan Sangha, Jodhpur Park 95 Pally, Sreebhumi, Tridhara, Hazra Yuva Maitree, Chetla Agrani, and Hatibagan, unveil their finest masterpieces annually. These remarkable works of art find sanctuary within these walls, meticulously guarded for generations to come. However, within the shadowy confines of the dimly lit hall, where these colossal idols rest in enigmatic silence, solitude can take on an eerie aura. Envision yourself ensnared within this vast expanse, where spectral encounters seem to rouse these dormant deities into earthly existence. It's a harmonious blend of myth and reality, where the boundaries between imagination and reality dissolve into the great unknown. Entrance to this museum is free, and it welcomes visitors throughout the year, except for a few select public holidays.

It’s a beautiful place for people to visit who wants to experience Durga Puja in Kolkata. Located in the Dhakuria Lake Park, Rabindra Sarovar, it can be easily traveled via Metro. The place has beautiful aesthetics and each one of the sculpture of Durga Ma looks absolutely amazing. 🤩 There is no ticket system and it’s open to all. Evening Timing : 3pm to 5 pm

It was beautiful but on Google they have mentioned 10:00 to 5:30 but in practicality they just open from 5:00am to 10:00 am then 3:00pm to 5:00pm... Which they've failed to mention... Also the security guards are very bad.

Title: Maa Durga Museum - A Captivating Journey into Devotion and Culture Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: My visit to Maa Durga Museum, also known as Maa Phire Elo, was an enchanting experience that left me awe-inspired and deeply connected to the rich cultural heritage of the region. From the moment I stepped foot into this museum, I was immersed in a captivating journey that celebrated the devotion and reverence towards Maa Durga. The museum showcases an impressive collection of artifacts, sculptures, paintings, and memorabilia related to Maa Durga and her various forms. The meticulous curation and presentation of these exhibits brought the divine aura of Maa Durga to life, capturing the essence of her power, grace, and divine presence. Each artifact told a story, and I found myself mesmerized by the devotion and artistic brilliance that went into their creation. The attention to detail and the ambiance within Maa Durga Museum were truly commendable. The museum's design and layout enhanced the overall experience, with well-lit galleries that showcased the exhibits beautifully. The information provided alongside each exhibit offered valuable insights into the historical and cultural significance of Maa Durga, deepening my understanding and appreciation of her divine manifestations. The staff at Maa Durga Museum were knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to share their passion for the subject matter. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their willingness to answer questions and provide additional information added immense value to the visit. Really a model place within the city. It has such a beauty surrounding itself. Ideal for photography and a day's tour with your loved one. One star couldn't be given due to lack of maintainance of the place. The wooden sculpture is adversely affected by the bird's poop. Another structure at the farthest corner remained incomplete. The authority should look after maintaining the beautification of the place.

Unique one in the city. Quiet place. Nicely maintained. Beautiful & efficiently crafted Durga idols from different parts of Kolkata. It has 3 idols outside and a tower like architecture in front of the hall. Terracotta like designs are done which has added to its grace. The place looks even more beautiful in the evening .

Fantastic exhibition centre opened few years back. An initiative taken by present West Bengal government under Mamata Banerjee of TMC party. Over here you will find selective few (10 to 15 numbers) famous Maa Durga idols of several famous Durga Puja pandals in Calcutta & other parts of Bengal, which were not immersed but preserved here permanently. The entry fees is totally free. I would urge everyone to visit this exhibition centre named as "Maa Phirey Elo"

An exhibition of durga idols in Rabindra Sarobar lake. One can take a little peek while walking in the Rabindra sarobar lake. The gate is beautifully constucted with a resemblence of Hindu pradip. Inside there is a durga pratima and a mechanical machine known as ajantrik. The main exhibition is yet to be opened.

Pretty decent and niche place tucked away in one corner of the Ravindra Sarobar lake. This museum features some prominent Durga idols from various renowned clubs and the idols as well as the arena are quite well maintained. Entry is free to everyone and it's open everyday (be careful of the timing though). Although they could've added more into their collection as there's only a few idols to see.

A nice initiative to preserve Durga idols. However the area is not too big to accommodate a large number of deities. The place is typically not too crowded and being located within the Dhakuria lake premises the atmosphere is soothing. Most of the deities are kept in a decorated shade while a few are outside. Entry closes at 6pm. It is easy to reach by both bus and train routes. Use of single use plastic is strictly prohibited.
