A place for shopping peacefully. There are shops from different states of India along with various other shops. As it is comperatively less crowded customer will get more time choose their items more comfortably. In "state shops" prices are fixed. Market remains closed on Sunday and some public holidays.

This is a shopping complex, where clothing shops of many states, which are approved/ owned by the respective states, are located. Quality of the available products are very good. Besides, some local shops are also there. One cooperative store, named Samabayika, selling grocery and some other household items is also situated there. A few restaurants / sweet shop are situated there, too.

Great place for saree and khadi lovers. Definitely not that congested as Dakshinapan but one can get all state empowered shops that are found in Dakshinapan, with satisfying options.choices are as per your budget from pocket friendly to expensive/exclusive shopping - you will be a happy shopper for sure. Assured quality because of state govt. affiliated shops.

It's a good place for buying clothes, home decor & furnishing items. Almost every shop accepts digital payments. However, I would suggest you to keep some cash in hand.

The Uttarapan shopping complex houses a variety of state handloom shops, including Bengal, Orissa, Assam, and more. Additionally, a Tripura stall offers unique furniture, while home furnishing and decoration items are also on offer. The complex features a jewelry section, although prices tend to be on the higher side. For refreshments, there are food stalls available.

Proper shopping arena, if you don't want to spend more in the malls. For Saree, you can have lots of States Govt shops.

Quality items are available at very affordable prices. The shopkeepers are also very friendly and helpful. Large parking is available. Proper maintenance is required immediately.

Varity of options available. From sarees to churidars to men's ethnic dresses to bedsheets & many more. Stores of different state crafts & Small enterprises are present. Mostly govt funded. You will choose from a lot of different options & also get a lot of discount. Payment options are also available in most of the store. the only drawback is it closes at 8:00pm.

Government handlooms of all states available. Sundays closed, except before Durga puja. Authentic things available. Like pure taant, silk, jamaani,dokra, handicrafts and other products. Due to purity of the material of the product, price is high.

We visited Mrignayani there to buy some running fabrics (Chanderi silk) and Saree (Tussar/Kosa Silk and Maheshwari silk-cotton) and loved their collection! Fabric quality was very good- at reasonable prices too, and staff behaviour was exceptionally nice. Will definitely head back again.

Its a decent place . Could have been better if washrooms would have been better . Its open kinda place with park sort feel and a small room . Okayish for average party hostings. Spacious and all but washroom is big disappointment. That's not what you expect these days. Overall a mediocre place .

This is the first time I went inside Uttarapan Shopping Complex. Very neat and clean. Have some very good Government shops like Tantuja, Byonika, Khadi and have superb quality sarees, home decor. Well managed. But it should advertise more and more because I think customer visit are not so much regular. But overall very good place.

An excellent place for handicraft and handloom products with showrooms of various State Handicrafts.Kashmir ,Gujrat and Tripura handicrafts showrooms are especially worth visiting.If you are a khadi enthusiast Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan and showrooms affiliated to Khadi and Village Industries Commission Govt of India selling various khadi products such as silk and tashar dress materials,readymade garments for both ladies and gentlemen such as shirts,punjabis,salwarsuits,dupattas,scarves,hakerchiefs and khadi masks are also present.They also have an exquisite collection of sarees both silk and cotton.There is a samavaika or cooperative shop selling regular household goods on the ground floor.Ample parking space is also avalable in front of the cooperative stores so that you do not have to drag along your marketing a long way to reach your car.The prices of the handloom and khadi goods are however on the higher side but discounts are avalable on special occassions like Diwali,Durga Puja Bhaiyya Duj(Bhai phonta) etc on all products except khadi goods such as soaps,facewash,agarbatis and some cottage industry food items like honey,achhar,hajma goli etc...Overall I would like to say that if you are a fan of Indian Ethnic products this is the place to be rather than the overcrowded shopping malls selling mass produced western products at much higher prices.Thank you for your time ..do give me your feedback...Happy Shopping.

Huge scope for improvement. Such places should be better promoted. A lot of space is wasted. Some shop owners are very encouraging...others do not care if people buy or not.

It ia a shopping complex located in Ultadanga Calcutta. All State Government Emporiums are here. Along with shops selling clothes, bed linen, towels. There is a adequate parking area available. The range of products suit every budget . Good place for clothes specially sari

I feel like this is the most underrated shopping destination in Kolkata. The collection of handloom is just breathtaking, and in very affordable prices, as this is mostly home to government emporiums of different states. The place is smaller than its South Kolkata counterpart, the far more famous Dakshinapan. But the variety is honestly to die for. If you live around North or East Kolkata and love all things handloom and handmade, this place is a good pick.

It is a shopping complex very old. The saree shops here represent different states of India and their weaving pattern. Apart from sarees, one will get kurtis, blouses etc. A nursery is also there.

It is sad that many people do not come to this place, centrally located. No parking problem. Many state emporium are there. Atleast go the market and help the khadi movement and enjoy the cheapest variety.

Very useful place for women's ethnic clothes shopping. All state government stores are here like Khadi, UP handloom, Maharashtra, Tantuja etc. Prices are good and choices are extensive. When tired, get some food and drink at the simplistic garden restaurant. Great place for a shopping spree.

The shopping complex is situated between Ultadanga and Kankurgachhi in North Kolkata. A nice place for shopping. Prices are reasonable. Outlets of various states like UP, MP, Jammu and Kashmir, Tripura, Karnataka are available here. But a lot of space still remains unused. Some shops remain closed always. Not a well utilised market. Neither are the premises maintained well.

Very calm and quiet environnement. Toilets are not very clean. The customer services and selling policies have improved much.

Hygienic foods are available there, it is placed inside the Uttarapan market between Ultadanga -Kakurgachi road. Normally office people and business men are enjoying the tests of the food here.

Went here for Income tax office for some specific wards in the upper stories. Near Hudco more at Ultadanga. Many textile n West Bengal state produced material related shops are located besides Tantuja in the ground floor shops

I love shopping for all seasons in this Government market in Ultadanga. The shops particularly Mrignayanee, Chandrakanta Khadi, UP handloom, Appu are very well stocked and have authentic materials. I love the genuine Government discounts given which makes it all the more attractive 👍

A great diassappointment. About 60% of the state emporiums are closed. The maintenance is in a very sorry state with portions of the building crumbling, let alone the dirt and shabbiness. I understand this is a very old shopping copex of the city and is no longer relevant with the advent of malls. But still,we can try to lift up the overall customer experience for the very niche customers visiting these places.
