Kaidi Kitchen is a casual dining located at 1 Usha Kiran Building, 12 A, Camac Street Area, Kolkata. The restaurant’s popularity rides chiefly on its theme. The interiors of this 165-cover outfit on Camac Street (they also have an outlet in Mani Square Mall) replicates a prison, complete with barred prison cells, arched doorways, palm prints on the walls and a host of prison paraphernalia. The ushers and waiters come dressed as prison guards and inmates. The place serves vegetarian food – a mix of Italian, Mexican, Oriental and Indian. However, their Indian kitchen is their real strength. Try their signature Subzi Dewani Handi (a medley of veggies in a rich tomato gravy) paired with cheese garlic naan. If you are in a group of six to eight, ask for one of the prison cells for a more private dining experience and primarily to have some fun.

Prior booking is recommend or else waiting time is too much. Perfect vegetarian restaurant with a touch of prison. Parking is available both 2wheeler and 4wheeler. Service Tax is charged in bill.

Kaidi kitchen as the name tells all about the theme. I visited this place after a long time and loved to see the same gesture of all the staff. The food is tasty, we ordered corn cheese balls, they were all cheesy not only in name but in real, then we ordered Italian sizzler which has good veggies , pasta and rice and then the sizzling brownie with icecream which was wow .the server was really good. My niece was not well so he made sure that she atleast eats and smiles. Thank you for do much concern for the guests. It's a vegetarian restaurant.

It's truly a heaven for veg lovers. Food was tooooooo good and ambiance too. We had Mexican fajita sizzler, quesadilla, pink paradise mojito, italian smooch. Among these i only didn't like italian smooch, as i felt that it was too light. I had quesadilla before in some places and here it was very soft, a big thums up. And the sizzler was mouth watering. Would like to visit again.

Kaidi kitchen serves one of the finest and yummiest food in town. Being the first visit, place was better than expected and it had litteraly a look of enclosed Jail. Waiters were dressed as kaidi with white and black clothes and to our surprise there was a jailer, the one we must have seen in Sholay Food was very good. Starting with Sweet corn and Hot and Sour soup, Baroodi Aloo was yum, we hade ordered Tandoori kabab Sizzler which was okayish, dal makhani was one of my fav anongst it. Kulcha and Masala naan were better than expected. The only thing which let me down was Virgin Mary - 0/5 it was pathetic

Good theme. Good food and lively staff too. We went for a group dinner. I can guess why we had to wait before we got a seat for 6 of us. We went for a family dinner. From the food we ordered, I just became a fan of Gandhoraj nimbu once again. Do try their gandhoraj lemon shikanji for sure. The soups manchow & minestrone al pesto were delicious too. Minestrone had a tinge of sweetness which was surprising for me but it was balanced with the flavor profile. Dhaba daal, paneer bara masala were really yummy. Ambience wise -entire place is themed on jail and the sitting booths are like cells with the decor as well staff uniformed as jail personnel or the criminals adding to the theme. Good economical place for group food.

Imagine you are having lunch or dinner behind the bar! After getting good reviews in map we went to this Pure Veg place last month, when we visited Kolkata. This ‘theme restaurant’ looks like a jail and a cell is allotted to each guests. The staff’s dressing style is also a main sort of attraction. The pure vegetarian foods are fabulous and very tasty. But the price of the foods are little expensive. The place is clean and service is also good.

As the name suggests, This place is purely a veg restaurant, and it is themed as a jail. The place can accomodate around 70-80 people at a time. They have a large number of dishes to try from. This place has to be my favorite when It comes to Vegetarian Food. The portion size of the food was worthy enough. Loved the presentation, I swear. The food was hygienic. I visited this place for lunch and was a pleasant surprise. The food was good, the ambience good and the decor too being a theme restaurant. Since it was a weekday, it was pretty empty.. I would recommend this place to people.

Very bad 5 meal course policy!! They attract customers with 5 meal course offer and then u have to order through A La carte menu and that with limited choice! I mean like just stop fooling people. A must no no for those who don't wanna spend their hard earned money! Would not give a single star.. The staff is also very impolite. Doesn't carry a smile. The bad choice I ever made coming down to this place. They are ready to throw away the left over food but will not pack it. I mean seriously were food is becoming a scarcity these people does not care about. Worst!!!!!! Regret coming here.

Now coming to the most important topic " FOOD" . The food is justtt great. I personally loved their Litti Chokha. The Chokha wass soooo delicious , the potatoes were perfectly mashed and the amount of spices added to it was perfect. Secondly I loved their Kashmiri Kofta and Paneer Malai Seekh Kebab. If you are thinking of going out for a dinner then do visit this place for amazing food .

It might be a bit difficult to locate for newbies in the city because if you approach from one side of the street, you might miss the board. Total veg resturant with jain options available. I loved the mexican sizzler,quite spicy and the chinese platter was good as well.. the virgin mojito wasnt that good, abit heavy with the lime cordial. They have option for hard drinks as well. Overall i enjoyed my meal

Located at Camac street near camac street petrolpump . It is located in the 4th floor . The segments are made as a jail with minimals lightings. To my surprise the waiter was in the uniform of the jailor. Everything gives the feeling of being in a jail. Very good theme with unique ambience.

I went on weekdays and there was no rush...we had our lunch peacefully. Service was ok . Food is again average. I enjoyed there red kidney beans kebab and hariyali paneer tikka in the appetizers part but the main course was disappointing. The pickled onions were served along but they were not at all tangy. We ordered palak choley and naan which was not at all good. so I would suggest go for some regular dish and not the unusual one...

Kaidi kitchen is very super but very high prices food . Middle class family not affordable with this price. 2 person minimum upto 2000 get several foods. That's the point I gave the 4 star.

We, 3 families, went for lunch on Sunday afternoon. The food was good. The cost is on the higher side. The ambiance is also fine. The starters and sizzler quantity are very less. Buttermilk cost 201 is extremely high. The crispy chilly baby corn starter was good and very crisply. Jain food is available with many options. The menu doesn’t depict all the right options. Some of the items mentioned were available as Jain was not available. I would visit if either they increase the portion size or reduce the price a little bit.

There are not many family outing vegetarian restaurants in this city, maybe that is the reason why this place is always full house! There might be some wait time, but once your food is served, all the wait is worth it. The interiors have been designed to give you a feel of being locked up in a jail, but I think they need to work more on it, as barring some tables, others dont give you that feeling. The menu is full of spicy dishes and you should try out the different dishes that this restaurant has to offer. Overall a good place to visit.

Food was tasty, service great. We were there in not so busy hours on a Tuesday afternoon. Staff were very polite and explained us everything that they had to offer. Children were entertained by various props. Theme in itself was unique and had a nice ambience inside. Restrooms were clean. Great experience.

The food is really good. However, the staff was in a rush to get us out so quick, they served the soup, appetizer and main course at once. We had to eat in a hurry and leave. I do not recommend this place for people who prefer to be relaxed when eating. They also levy a service charge, which is unfair in my opinion. Patrons should have the choice whether to tip or not.

One of the best places in town for foodies, this restaurant includes some popular cuisine(North Indian, Chinese, mouth watering starters, a lot more). A bit expensive but 10/10 for value of money and for the quality of food. PS - A must visit place for those who love Chinese.

Service is worst. It’s a jail based restaurant which has actual feeling of jail in terms of staff behaviour. Food quality is just okay but in terms of price it doesn’t worth it at all. I usually don’t write review but bad restaurant like this should be informed to everyone.
