This place is owned and maintained by ISKCON thus you will get Satvik food ( Veg food without garlic and onion). It is well decorated and the ambience is good as well. Though I have heard of service issue but I haven't faced anything as such. On the contrary the staffs were very well behaved. But yes it took some extra time for the food to be served. Even the food was good but it was oily. We took Pulao, Pudina Naan, Veg kohlapuri and paneer lababdar. The side dishes were oily and too some extent same in taste. But the taste was good. Ended it lunch with ice cream which I liked. To me this is a nice place but I think it's a bit overpriced.

Visited for lunch this time. My first visit was in 2008, that ambience was far better then now. It's simple. Now a days they increased the price however reduced the quantity. Good things is quality remain same as before. Hope we will get a service later as well.

Govinda's maybe the only Restaurant in Kolkata which prepares it's complete menu in Pure Desi Ghee. It serves a wide variety of menu ranging from South Indian to Chinese to few Italian Items and then finally Indian. The South Indian is available only upto evening 1830. All other items are available during dinner time as well. I did not taste the South Indian items as I arrived later than 1830. There were 6 varities of Pasta and similar number for Chinese Noodles. Both the items were cooked in Desi Ghee. I felt that the quantity was slightly less for the asked price. Notwithstanding, the best part of their menu was the Indian Menu. Starting from the Kulchas to Starters to Main Course Gravies everything was extremely good. The best part of the place is its warm service. Overall it is a must visit place.

The food was delicious. Quantity was enough for two. We ordered a starter one side dish and rice. Two aam panna. And we couldn't finish the side dish. The quality of food is very fresh and well presented. Absolutely recomend this vegetation restaurant for people who are fasting. Worth the price. Would definately recommend to non vegetarians too incase they need a change in taste.

Being a Non-Vegetarian at heart, Govinda's was truly a delightful change of sorts! That being said, the special thali was a truthful delight to have. Very well curated in a brass like tableware, the food was all the more delightful to relish. Excellent taste, very chic yet subtle ambience. It's a Vegetarian's match made in heaven for sure. First of all I am a non vegetarian hence I rarely go to pure veg restaurants. But I liked this one . Quite peaceful, family friendly with a take away sweet shop attached with it, I just ordered 2 things . Cheese corn ball and aam panna (they added water bottle xtra) Cheese balls are pretty big and tasty however aam panna at the price of 110 I thought would be better . Cons: I don’t know if it’s me or others will think the same . I felt paying rupees 415 for 1 aam panna , 1 corn cheese ball plate and 1water bottle is a bit much . Even most of the sweets for takeaway costed 21rupees per piece which is moderate.

It is a great place to have Jain vegetarian food without onion and garlic. The food is fairly good and some dishes like crispy chilli baby corn and vegetable kofta stood out, the photographs of the same have been attached with this. Additionally this place has a great ambiance.

It was an absolutely amazing experience dining here. The food was delicious! It has a vast range of vegetarian dishes. The thalis are not mentioned in the menu but it is usually available so do ask the waiter attending your table. The special veg thali was a good combo of variety of curries all of which were well cooked and mouthwatering. The star of the meal for us was mughlai malai kofta. It was absolutely delicious be it with masala kulcha, butter naan or tandoori roti. We ordered Raj bhog for dessert and it wasn't bad but not that impressive in taste for it's price.

I loved the ambience and their cleanliness. Staff was well behaved and welcoming. The food is reasonably priced, portions are decent and taste is good. Definitely worth a visit. The only problem we faced was parking. We had to park quite far off, valet service is necessary here.

This place had changed a lot... Before hand it was a small sitted restaurant and now its a full fledge big restaurant. Decorations are awesome... They give food in brass plates and glassess. The manager was quite decent and helpful and suggested with proper food ... To my personal view taste of dishes had depriciated a little from earlier dishes... Do take dessert n sweet dish from the adjacent shop because if u take the same dish in dinning place they ll charge the sweet dish jus double..sweet dishes are nice to eat...Cheese Nun is must to try..

Place is good but the service was worst.. I ordered Tandoori platter which was served in normal temperature I presume it was prepared long back and was served like that... When complained about the same they took it back just mirco waived it and gave it back and it tasted horrible.. After waiting long when we got the table even a glass of water was served 20mins later after requesting the staff twice that too only Water bottle was served and 10mins later glass was given to drink water.. Service was too slow and to ask staff couple number of times... Even food the food was not appropriate as compared to the outlet near Birla High School... Staff had the different level of attitude which made us felt as if we came to dine free of charges... Worst Experience of mine... Actually it was shameful coz it was a family dinner and i suggested them for Govindas coz of past good experience from Govindas near Birla High School... I will never suggest anyone now for Govindas it was a waste of money and time for specially our cherish mood on New Year Eve of 2021...

The renovated Govinda's on Gurusaday Road is a sight to behold with double heighted eating space and rich bronze and brass tones and gives stiff competition to many uber fine dining restaurants in terms of ambience and looks. Parking is easily available at the rear entry of the restaurant. We ordered the Govinda's Special Thalis which has * Kulcha * Naan * Peas Pulao * Dal Makhani * Paneer preparation * Chole * Boondi Raita * Salad * Papad * Rasgulla. Easily enough quantity for 1 person and a child, the Thalis are served in heavy brass plates. The brass glasses and side plates also add to the richness quotient of the place making you forget that you are sitting in a restaurant run by ISKCON.

Strictly vegetarian, even onion and garlic are taboo here as the food prepared here are for the devotees of Lord Krishna. The food and sweets prepared here are not only of excellent quality and purity but very delicious too. They also serve Indian thali as well as a few chinese and south indian preparations too. The paneer ( Cottage cheese) served here are of excellent quality and the items prepared with it are simply awesome specially the Paneer Tikka and Kadai Paneer. A must visit place specially the one on Gurusaday Road in Kolkata.

If you do not like waiting to get a table reach between 7:00 to 7:30 PM for dinner. The Main course is great infact perfect. Starters are not that great. Well Chinese items and soups are great.

Well, we walked in for dining just today.. I mean sitting here right now. There is average rush, but these people seem to not able to manage at all.. took 20 min to take order for starters and another 40 min to serve.. then another 20 min to come for main course order and the way they were taking orders is like .. "finish off and go away".. there are exactly 19-20 table and about 8-10 people to serve.. but the lethargy and callusness will destroy ur evening totally if u choose this restaurant. The starter cost of 4 adults reached about ₹1500 .. with main course about ₹3000/-. So cost is high-moderate.. but service is third class.. food taste okayish. Choose this restaurant on ur own stake. I am not coming back ever in this life...!! Horrible and Pathetic experience so far.

Great place for pure veg lovers. This guys don't use garlic and onion also in there dishes, which just what I wanted. Great family place and staff was friendly and helpful. This place is managed by ISKON so they really have good standards. I would strongly suggest people should go with there family, provide they love pure veg.
