This place used to be a great restaurant for North Indian food. I remember going to this place for more than 20 years! Though recently the quality of the food has deteriorated to levels below acceptable. Eating food here can make you really sick. The worst part is that nothing tastes fresh here, well there is no taste at all. The service is fine, but there is a sense of greediness of tip that can be seen in every service you get at this restaurant. From the toilet guy, to the server, to the lift person, to the entrance security! like really!? this is so cheap! The prices when compared to serving quantity, the quantity is not enough. Each order of curry is barely good enough for one person. Overall extremely disappointed and my last visit to this restaurant. Hope the owners take these customer reviews seriously or this place is surely going to shut down soon!

So much authentic place I have ever visit.... The hotel is running its quality since 80s... And let me tell you one thing first they serve you very quickly. Their hotel includes bar but its family friendly restaurant. you have to try their Butter masala paneer... It's so juicy and tasty.... And the hotel room has design which sofas and comfortable seats with the large amount of place. You should go there.

The Food Quality is good but the price is a little high specially in the Dessert section an ice cream cake of pastry size costing a whopping 225/- after seeing that I become spell bound. Service and behaviour of the staffs are awesome. The only thing is the price is little high.

Well I love the food they provide... It's like I used to eat from here since I was 8 and now after so many years they since managed to maintain the quality of the food... Yeah it's a bit expensive but if you want good food and proper hygienic ambiance then you may spend some extra bucks and the staffs were also quite humble and the service was also quite quick and efficient... The restaurant's service is very good. People there are so friendly and nice. The only problem is the quantity. The quantity is really less. I mean it can be only for a single person. The Veg Au gratin was not that good. It was really bland. The paneer tikka masala tasted pretty average and also very less quantity. The chappatis were well cooked and the place has very beautiful lighting which will make you calm and composed. It is also a bar. So you can order any type of drink you want. You can take cake from outside and the people there will help you in every manner they can do to make your birthday special.

In frame- Masala Kulcha and Butter Naan paired with Murgh Butter Masala, Chicken Tetrazzini Cocktails- Screwdriver and Bloody Mary My experience here was somewhat disappointing when it came to the food. The murgh butter masala was utterly bland and salty. It didn't had any creaminess that is expected from a good serving of butter masala. Chicken Tetrazzini was good. Compared to the prices, the portions were pretty less.

Moderate. Had high hopes due to friend hyping it all about their tandoori chicken. It failed to meet our expectation that day. Moreover, blood was traced on chicken tandoori to which manager refused to replace the piece. But later he did by himself realising he are not requesting/urging for any replacement. Its a bar cum restuarant so you can enjoy with old friends there. Overpriced by the quality offered.

Aesthetically it was very nice. Food is very nice. Try chicken kabab with extra cheese. The workers sometimes forget, what they have served you so always remember what you have ordered (Else you have to pay an extra amount).

It is one of the most iconic restaurants in Kolkata, but loosing it's charm. The breads need a little more attention in terms of softness. Daal makhani is fabulous as usual. Bring down the salt in cutlets. Make the mutton more softer. Get someone who would give attention to detail. Keep going great.

One of the legendary old multicuisine and bar family restaurant in Kolkata. It is in Waterloo Street. Food Specially Indian and continental food is really good. The restaurant is costly. Fish liver gin, classic fish fry strongly recommended.

Food taste is good but little expensive at par with what they offer.

Great food, great ambiance and great staff. You should definitely try out their paneer kulchas, its smackalicious.

Went there for lunch, food did not feel fresh. They served another table nearby after us, there were no hot heat effect coming off as it should naturally for any other fresh hot serving. Very disappointed. If it's in your bucket list and must have to go, then just go and be done with it. Price was pretty high for the kind of serving we received. You could get much better servings from other restaurants nearby, they atleast serve hot and fresh, at much reasonable price. Amber only has ambiance to show for at this point.

Amber has a nostalgic feel. Great food but Quality has been on downside compared to price. The service was too fast though there were plenty seats available during lunch. Personally I find it not of the same standard as it was pre Corona period.

The quality of food is not that good as it was prior to COVID. Fish Tandoori was delicious, but chicken Tandoori was not to the mark. Butter nun was the best. Hope, Amber will return to their own glory fast.

Lovely place, nice vibe. Had to experience nuisance by a drunk guy but hotel management handled quite nicely. Food can be a bit better for the price.

There were a few things that I liked. The cheese pineapple cherry is the best thing to have with your drink! The mutton was chewy. Liked the Fish Liver Gin. The mutton rogan josh and mutton masala were okay. Wouldn't go praising about them though. We also had the baked fish tomato, the fish was great but the dish tasted of tomato sauce and looked hastily made as well.

The heritage and the quality of food are the only good things about this place. Although some waiters are courteous general restuarant policy is not customer friendly. Pricing is high and definitely not proportional to the quantity. Good for those who specifically want to eat here. Would not recommend a second visit.

Amber deserve 4 Star but I gave 2 due to servent misbehaving with us name not remember but the guy do not serve well and mistalk with us on date 26/09/21 at last table .

The food there was bland, maybe because it was due to the rush of Bengali New Year, but a place which is recognised as one of the legendary eateries needs to maintain its quality even in rush. Secondly each dish has enough portions for 1 single person.. That's nitpicking but it matters for a middle class family..

Bit costly. 1l kinely mineral water cost 65/- Otherwise staff behavior is very good. Food quality average. One more thing i find ridiculous that they are a non veg restaurant but do not serve Chicken Biriyani! Otherwise peaceful atmosphere, neat n clean.

Although it boasts a choice of indian and continental food, the taste of Indian, particularly North Indian food, is far superior to the rest of the cuisine. Well balanced menu (choice for all), reasonably priced, tasty food and not a long waiting time either. Great to see an old time restaurant keeping up with the times. Great job!
