Bhojohori Manna

Restaurant Bengali restaurant

🫤 Not a good experience overall! The dining hall was too poky and the food is kind of ok. I have ordered basanti pulao, sukto, mocha chap, mocha ghonto, post bora, dhoka er daalna and sweets. It will please the taste buds of only those who like Bengali food. People often mention good, Bengali, quality, taste, price, quantity, small, Bhojohori, restaurant, Manna,

Very small place. Food is tasty. But food hygiene was pretty poor, and the menu option were limited as not all items were available off the menu.

I am no authority on Bengali food but have had tons of bengali food sonce last almost 15 years. Am in kolkata right now I ordered through Zomato as had heard a lot about Bhojohori Manna and trust all these years I had never had the food from them. I ordered PAPDA THALA and GONDHARAJ CHICKEN. Gondharaj chicken was more or less fine just that they had put Jhur Jhur Aloo which is a Fabulous crispy potato dish in the same container with hot chicken so what I finally got was Gondoraj chicken with Aloo Jhur Jhur which had turned more or less like a mashed potato. Papda thala was not upto the mark. For food I try not to use harsh words so am saying not upto the mark. Fish seemed fresh from the stiffness of bone but the head said its stale. Wonder how did the gravy which is supposed to be mustard paste based become so salty most probably they didn't use fresh mustard paste and relied on kasundi. Was surprised to see rogan traces in it. Rogan is a typical Muslim Awadhi cuisine thing which is made by tempering red Chilli powder on a mildly hot mustard oil. Salad missed the basic lemon and green chillies which are like must haves for a bengali food. Kasundi supplied I dint dare open it coz it had a green layer in it and was not sure if it's fungus or they have tried to do some experiments with mint sauce in it. And last but not the least please use lesser plastic the food came like a junk of plastic and had to fish eatables out of it.

Had a splendid, mouthwatering experience here at Bhojohori Manna. Even though the space is small but it doesn't disappoint because of its quality food. We had ordered - Steamed Rice, Daab Chingri, Daal, Bhetki Paturi, Katla Kalia, Bangali Pulao, Mutton Kosha. Well, I literally cannot choose any one among these to say which was the best, we loved all the items! The food was damn tasty and mouthwatering. I highly recommend everyone to come and eat here. I can't wait to go back there!

It is a decent place. Though the resturant is small. Not enough space there. Around 30 people can dine here at once. The behaviour of the staffs is good. And ambience is not so good. More like a roadside hotel. Now, about the food all I can say that this is over hyped in social media. The food quality is not so good. We took eilish sorshe, and it was not tasty at all. Rest of the food are also of average. And as this place is over hyped in social media, all this items are over priced. We get more tasty Bengali food here in durgapur at low price.

Bhojohori Manna was known as one of the oldest and eldest addresses for authentic Bengali foods in Kolkata but really got disappointed by its Esplanade outlet. This outlet is very tiny and as we went on Poila Baisakh, the accomodation was poorer than any other day. We tried a thali which was served 30-40minutes after ordering!! Stuffs were just rampaging cluelessly , made the whole environment more claustrophobic. Food quality was average but quantity was too low to spend money. Hygiene was poor and as shown in the pictures, they served authentic Bengali foods with disposable thermocol plates!!! The worst thing is the washroom system...yes! You have to wash your hands by going directly to a smelly congested bathroom and in front of a commode!! No hand wash was even there! Anyway, If anyone wish to experience it, I must suggest not to go there in any special or crowdy holiday.

Unlike being overhyped, I am here for a honest and real review. First if I compare the other bengali reaturents like Saptapadi or koshekosha, this is the worst bengali resturent to go. 🔵 Only good thing about this resturant is they sanitize well 🔴 The list of worst things- 1. Oddly overpriced. 2. Even thali contains low quality food. 3. Rice is cold and stiff. Feels like it's not freshly made, which is a shame. 4. Fish smells off. 5. They don't serve good dal, compared to Saptapadi and any low priced restaurant as well 6. Service is ok, repulsive, welcoming only when u tip high, otherwise not. 7. 95 for a small bowl of rice is what makes it the worst place to go. 8. Posto bora is so small and without any significant posto in it. 9. Mochar ghonto was cold and spiceless. 10. Other items may be good, I haven't tried all. But basics shows the notion. It's terrible to me. Even 2 star is much for this. May be their quality is decreasing, hoping to get a good behaviour next time, if I go.. that I won't.

Fourth outlet for me of this legendary chain of restaurants. And bang bang was my feeling when it came to the taste of some of the bengali dishes. OMG, how can everywhere the taste is exactly the same. Must try it out at any nearby outlet. You will fall in love with the bengali cuisine

Amazing food! They give very small servings and you have take multiple so the price becomes like a normal restaurant. But you taste the real taste of Bengali cuisine. I highly recommend the Mutton Jhol. Dab chingri was also nice. Papda fish was very nice. I had the sorshe(mustard) gravy with it. But it was a bit pungent for my taste but I'm sure that's how it is authentically supposed to be. The vegetarian posto Bora (fried) and posto torai was very nice. They make the food in a central kitchen and just heat it in their restaurant branches so the service is really quick.

Over priced and less quantity and and for rice quality I can say, you can have better rice in any restaurant in Esplanade, I spent 1328/- but not satisfied with Ambience, Food quality, Food quality. My suggestion please don't waste your money and time, we have other good restaurants at the same price.

Bhojohorir Veg Thala at Bhojohori Manna This elaborate Bengali vegetarian thali has Luchi, chholar dal, rice, shukto, kolmi shaak , postor borar jhal, alu jhurjhuri ,Tomato-khejur chutney, Rosogolla and Mishti doi. The story of Bhojohori Manna began out of a garage space at Ekdalia, Kolkata in March 2003. Five friends from diverse backgrounds with no formal F & B training but having a passion for food and people, reckoned from their own personal experiences that there was a vacuum in Kolkata for simple 'home style' Bengali food. The name Bhojohori Manna was chosen from a popular Bengali film song rendered by the legendary singer Manna Dey. The humorous track "Ami Sri Sri Bhojohori Manna..." revolves around a widely travelled cook who returns to his native land with a signature culinary style. The business model was inspired by the charming old-world concept of 'pice hotels' and moulded to the requirements of the day.

We went to the Esplanade branch, the food was good but slightly sweet in taste . We are expecting typical Bengali food but overall taste was ok. Chicken cutlet was the best dish we ate. We also ordered Daab Chingri, Kosha mangsho, Vetki paturi & Mishti Doi. The restaurant premise is very congested and there is no separate washbasin to wash your hands before and after eating. It will be highly appreciated if they can move the restaurant to a cleaner place.

Visited because I was craving luchi and mangsho, and they didn't disappoint. The prawn malaikari and basanti polao was excellent as well and so was the vegetable cutlet, rabdi and chutney. The staff were really nice, but they missed an item from our order while taking the order but made sure we receive it asap when informed.

The place is too much small. There have not all the food. Whatever we ordered they reply not available. Some of the countable item was available their. Few tables are available for the services. If all full you have to wait for a long time. According to location it is in the good place. But due to unavailability of the item's and small conjusted place it is decreasing the brand Bhojohari Manna's fame.

Today ordered Bagda Daab Chingri, Mutton Kasa and Alu Bhaja from Bhojohori Manna, Esplanade. 1. There was no daab in this order. The chingri was not BAGDA CHINGRI. CHINGRI WAS ROTTEN AND SMELLY. Size was very small. Have thrown 1 piece in dustbin. 2. SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED FOR RANN PIECE MUTTON. THEY ALSO ACCEPTED THE REQUEST. STILL SOME OTHER SMALLER PIECES WERE GIVEN. QUANTITY OF GRAVY WAS NEGLIGIBLE. 3. Rs 700/- was spent in this order. When we asked zomato for refund they simply denied. How will I get the refund? Both chingri and mutton was cold when received. Just look at the pics and decide if you wish to visit this restaurant or not. FSSAI AND Food Inspector should make surprise visit and check for the rotton foods kept in refrigerator.

(Translated by Google) Bengali food that brings sixteen to the food .. even if it tastes good to the taste, it will put a little pressure on the pocket ... the stinginess of the quantity with the price is noticeable .. and the lack of space in the Esplanade shop is very bad ... 2star because of their food quality. 1star deducted bcz they don't have proper hand wash facilities.one small washroom including basin. So,you have to face bathroom smell both handwsh time. This is totally disgusting.i feel very uncomfortable it their system 1star dedication because of their oOver rated prices. Hilsa one price 380/-. It means you r eating your own money which is not worthy. And 70rs rice place is not sufficient for a single person. Don't knw why they charged so so so many high food regular food items. 1star deducted because of thier sitting arrangment and room quality.it means you r spending 1000/-+ for 2 person and feel like 100rs hotel. . Although quality of food Is good bit quality is very very low...so Beware to eat your own money. Location- 2 shop left of KCs resturant Timing - start from 12pm on sharp

I have found bengali food tastier than them in sector V, that too on a roadside hotel. Infact what I felt was that, I cook better than them. The mutton they cook is not upto the mark. I genuinely can say, I cook tastier than them. But the hilsa fish served, which cost Rs.390 was good in taste. The quantity is really a big deal moreover.

It’s a fine dining restaurant offering Bengali cuisine. It’s not inexpensive, and not too expensive either. But the food is awesome. Bangali food at its best. We tried as many items as we could and one was better than the other! Vegetable items are delicious. Fishes too. As a Bangladeshi Bangali, the difference in cooking styles was all too apparent.
