Good place...a small one! Food really Taste good! Fresh lime soda and fish fry were excellent! Rest was very good! Mutton can be improved. Overall a good bengali food experience! If ordering a meal and you dont want pulao...Something which i liked as compared to other restaurants...they replace it accordingly with steamed rice or roti at no extra cost!

Loved the ambience and experience here Authentic Bengali restaurant, the food was soo good but the prices are little high. I had daab chingiri and Basanti pulao. Daab chingiri was soo good I can't tell you the sweetenes of Coconut milk gives it a better taste and it is served also with the daab

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this authentic Bangali restaurant Koshe Kosha, and the experience was nothing short of a flavorful journey to the heart of Bengal. From the moment I walked in, the warm and rustic ambiance immediately pleased me. The menu boasted a wide array of traditional Bangali dishes, each described with mouthwatering detail. I opted for my favourite Bengali food combination "Basanti pulao with Mutton kosha", a delicately spiced mutton preparation that perfectly encapsulated the essence of Bangali cuisine. I also tried fish fry. The fish was impeccably fresh, and the blend of mustard seeds, turmeric, and green chilies danced on my palate, creating a symphony of flavors. The courteous staff were more than willing to share insights about the dishes and their origins, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. The price is slightly more but according to their quality and service that is justified. No Bangali meal is complete without desserts, and I indulged in the exquisite " Baked Rasgulla." The sweetness was balanced to perfection, a testament to the chef's skill. So overall I will recommend this restaurant to all of you if you want authentic Bengali food to experience.

This was my first time to the Ripon Street outlet. Ambience is ok. We ordered Kabiraji which was excellent along with Bhetki Paturi which was also delicious. Posto bora was also quite good. Service was ok. The place does not have abundant parking space and hence that could be a hassle.

On 25th of December, we tried this restaurant and repented every bit of it. The food was horrible. It felt like someone added as much spices as possible to make a bitter mutton kosha. Everyone we mentioned this incident was not surprised with our experience. It seems they have maintained their low standards for a while. Don’t waste your money and time at this restaurant.

Had a really wonderful time there. One of the best Bengali cuisine restaurants in Kolkata. The food was scrumptious. Had chicken thali for lunch. The quality as well as the quantity of the food was commendable. The ambience is very pleasant along with Bengali theme oriented decor. Will visit the place again.

"Koshe Kasha" .yes name should be immediately changed.New name should be "Jaghany bhabe kasha". Food was very bad.mutton gravy was very bad.Chicken masala gravy was very bad today. We are frequent customer of this restaurant.Within 15 days how this quality has been degraded so much, you can't imagine. We were compelled to waste food & pay around 2300.but satisfaction value not worth 300.

I'd rate 6 out of 5 for this epic restaurant. Fantastic ambiance and they play old Bengali songs inside. A very cosy ambiance and authentic Bengali food. We had basanti pulao, bhetki paturi, mutton kosha, Malai daab chingri, plain rice as main course and baked rosogolla with mango curd as dessert. Baked rosogolla was so soft which I've never had anywhere. Malai daab chingri was another mouthwatering dish which no one should miss.

Koshe Kosha is an excellent, superb and fantastic choice for everyone who wants to experience authentic Bengali food! It is a fine-dine aesthetic Bengoli restaurant where you will find the classic bengoli interior with the old-school furniture adding beauty to its aesthetics, the black and white tiles and the wooden blinds on the window takes you straight to the 90s! The food was simply out of this world and extremely flavourful and delicious! I had ordered a starter Bhetki fry which was simply yummy! It was a deep fried crispy, crunchy and muchy dish with soft and tasty fish inside that just gives you the joy of crunchy and flavourful fish to my surprise I was not able to spot any oil in it as well! In the main course we had ordered Mahabhoj pabda and mutton thali which easily serves 2 adults. It had Plain Rice, Sona Muger Dal, roti/Basanti Pulao, Two types of Bhaja of the day(very famous Baigun Bhaja which was awesome and aloo bhaja which was very similar in taste to Uncle chips salted flavour). Two types of Sabji of the day(aloo phulgobhi and a mix veg, the mix veg was fine kindish but the aloo Gobi was very well cooked and homely). Salad, Chutney of the day(aam khatta), Papad, Misti(very soft and famous rasgulla), mutton curry at the very appropriate spice level with 2 tender mutton pieces & ofcourse the showstopper of the thali pabda fish curry which was extremely flavourful and savoury! It is a must try!!! The only thing I didn't like was the service, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great as well it was very average, the staff's behaviour was very average they served main course and starter together and didn't give a walkthrough of which dish is what, which is a usual gesture in fine-dines. Rest koshe kosha is a must try for its food !

Had heard a lot about them, and finally got time to try them out. The place is quite old and the outlook is nice and homely with the walls adorning old Kolkata pictures. The menu had a lot of options, so the best option was to try out their thalis. We went for three different ones - Fish/Chicken/Prawns. And loved each one of them, especially the prawns one. Also tried their special Nolen Gur Ice-cream, which was ok. Overall it was nice lunch.

One of the best restaurant for having bengali cuisines, also not that pricey. Ambience was so good. Though we had to wait for almost 30mins after placing order, but the wait was worth it.

Had a mixed experience. Most of the food was good. In fact very good. But the item that should have been the show stealer, was hugely disappointing. I am talking about mutton. Vetki Chingri Melbondhon was outstanding but overpriced. The amount of rice given in the thali was ok for a small kid but simply not enough for adults.

  • 4/5 Shromona G. 5 months ago on Google
Very good experience!! The food was delicious, we ordered Bhetki Chingrir Melbondhon, Plain rice, Sona Muger dal, Mochar ghonto, Chingri malaikari(badga),Basanti Pulao, Mutton kosha. Each and every dish was tasty and properly cooked. Though the rice was a bit hard. The atmosphere and service was excellent.

Yesterday I visited the outlet twice. First visit, I went with six of us ordered thali. All was good but nothing overwhelming. The mutton was nice. We ordered for a pabda but the pabda was horrible. It was deep fried and very hard and dry and tasted stale and old. When I asked at the counter about the same the explanation was that a lot of guests says that the fish is raw that's why they deep fry it. Then I asked if they deep fry Hilsa as well or not. They didn't answer anything. While payment at the counter, surprisingly the two staffs there said that their QR code is not working, hence to transfer to one of their personal account. Amount of 3525 was transferred to Soumen Pradhan. Second visit. Within one hour I went back with three more people. Ordered for one mutton kosha and two portions of roti and aam pora shorbot. Paid through the koshe kosha QR code this time. I doubted hence mentioned here for the higher management to notice.

Good place for bengali food. The ambiance and service was good but only issue with hand wash place. It could have been better with respect to the price it was charging.

👍👍 Recently visited this place and trust me, it was worth every penny. The ambiance was great. We had Mutton Chello Kebab. The kebabs were very juicy and tender, I couldn't stop drooling! 😐 Simply come here for the atmosphere and history. Nothing should be eaten here. Cold coffee was a letdown. It was cold water that had been sweetened with a pinch of coffee.
