A few kms away from the ever busy Behala Chowrasta on Ho Chi Minh Sarani, The Saffron Restaurant brings in the best of North Indian cuisines for all the big time foodies living around here. This is a truly hidden gem! They don't have those huge hoardings and marketing publicity, and all the focus is completely surrounding the food quality they provide! It's going to be uncommon and hectic for people living in the main city going all the way to Behala, but this turned out to be a rather mesmerizing experience for us. The Saffron came as a savior for us on Friday night when we came to know that our maid has fallen sick and we were too tired to cook ourselves. Loved the restaurant I’m a true fan of their kebabs by now ! Loved their Indian cuisine ! The taste was beautiful the kebabs that I tried were very tasty and so was the paneer dish ! I would highly recommend this place for a family lunch/ dinner it would be the perfect spot for that ! In their chinease items I genuinely liked the drums of heaven and I think I would try more next time when I visit 🫶

4 stars considering what the restaurant had to offer in that location. I had only fish fingers and a mint mojito. But I must say those fish fingers would compete with those served in more upscale restaurants. Interiors were good, as was service.

Saffron Restaurant, yet another successful venture by the Sankalp group, is here to tantalize your taste buds with it's live veg barbeque and unlimited North Indian buffet. Located at the Godrej Watersite Building at Sector V, this restaurant is named after the world’s most precious spice, Saffron serves the authentic flavours and essence of the traditional North Indian cuisine. True to its name, the Saffron chain epitomizes the royal experience in flavour, aroma and purity. The dining experience at Saffron comes complete with a grill at the centre of the table and variety of starters skewered and ready for the guests to grill or roast according to taste on their personal grills. Saffron has certainly becime one of it's kind in Kolkata by serving a pure veg live grill along with unlimited veg meal, starting at an unbelievable price of just Rs.399. Now let's take a look at the item from the "Chill with Grill" menu- We stated off with the - Saffron Cheese corn tomato soup. It was tangy and creamy, perfect for the chilly winters. For the appetizers, they served a few different items- Crispy corn, a spicy goodness made by frying sweet corn kernels. Next came Smokyzz sizzler, which was an unique blend of noodles and rice topped with a spicy red sauce and veg tikkas. It was served with french fries and grilled veggies. Overall, it was very unique and also delicious. Then we tried the dry Gobhi Manchurian, Veg Munchurian balls are tossed in Manchurian sauce to make this lip-smacking appetizer. For the live grill, we had Kasoori paneer Tikka and Bar-be-que Aloo. Both the aloo and paneer were very well marinated and presented in screwers. The charring at the live grill added more flavours to the dish. Coming to the mains, the first item we tried was the Baked macaroni with Pineapple. Cheesy and gooye goodness, baked to perfection. The macaroni had a nice bite to it, and the sweetness from the pineapples helped to balance out the flavours. Next came a varites of North Indian delicacies - Paneer Amritsari - One of Punjab's most favourite veg dishes, made with a skilful blend of soft paneer and vegetables with herbs, spices and other ingredients to produce a rich taste and smooth texture. Mix Veg Lucknawi - a variety of fresh vegetables cooked in a creamy and luscious yellow gravy, it goes really well with naan and kulchas. Methi Aloo - It is a simple yet comforting stir fry, made with potatoes and seasonal fenugreek leaves. We gulped these down along with an assortment of breads - Naan, Roti, Methi Paratha, stuff paratha, butter kulcha, onion kulcha, pudina paratha We also savoured some delicious Dal tadka, Jeera Rice And a very flavourful Veg biriyani. Finally we ended our meal with the Dessert of the day, which was Gulab jamun. It was served hot, and was so soft that it instantly melted in our mouths. One thing to note is that, you can opt for unlimited servings of each dish except the dessert, which is single serving The pocket pinch for the buffet : Weekday Lunch - Rs.399, dinner - Rs.499 Weekend Lunch/dinner - Rs.499 Apart from the food I was impressed by the hospitality and service,.and to like to revisit soon.

Few days ago ,I ordered biryani parcel, but they provided previous days preparation with full of expired smell. As a result I,along with my friends and family including a child experienced the same rotten smell and unable to eat. After complaining to owner, the response was horrible.The restaurant owner simply denied the fact and only want to replace the rice . Don't order any takeaway food here. They deliberately mixed up previous days preparation in cunning way. I have heard about that fact before from some of its customers,but practically experienced on that day. While eating food in the restaurant, they almost provide fresh items but their cunning cheating targets the takeaway customers not in chronological but random way. Don't now why people just loose their goodwill in such way.

This place is really expensive..every single item be it Chinese or Indian after making your choice you will be sorry for your wallet..This is the only cons that I can see..but all other factors like food quality, ambience,staff behaviour, cleanliness of the entire place,restroom conditions I have to give them 5 stars..I tried Kashmiri Pulao, Chicken Biriyani,Steamed Rice,Machli Kadhai,Chicken Sweetcorn soup..every single item is delicious..I didn't know the quantity of the items I ordered would have been enough for 5 people and I had only 4 people total..so beware..

It's a place tucked into the interiors of Behala, however it's a gem. The ambience and decor as you enter is very nice. That the place is dimly lit just adds to the flavour. The food items are really cheap. We ordered a chicken kebab for starters and tandoori roti/mixed fried rice for main course. Chicken Manchurian was there as the side dish. Also another side dish worth mentioning and really tasty was mutton rara. The waiters were very courteous and amiable. Overall a great experience.

Firstly slow service we order 8:50PM and food came on 9:45 pm. Starter came but no mocktail. Mocktail came with main course even food taste is too much salty.

Ordered chilli potato and Haka noodles , quantity of the foods are adequate. Chilli potatoes were good but terrifyingly spicy , couldn't enjoy the bites. Haka noodles were not bad is quiet ok. Service was awful , dropped some foods on the table and mismanaged the orders. Interiors were designed good. There was no music , I got strange vibes cause place was empty when I entered it was Saturday evening.

On the way to Bakultala, Behala Chowrastha. Only really awesome but in between Chowrastha up to Shibrampur this could be the end option for Mughal taste. They have mostly take away option however they do have sit and eat, not really recommended. So if you feel to have non veg taste within 5 km go for this option and experience it.

The place is too good for lunch and dinner options with a great variety. The food quality is just too amazing along with the service of the restaurant.Infact the price range is also attractive. The ambience and the decor is one of the best part of the place. Inspite of its location it does have a good amount of people dining in.

Definitely one of the top places in Behala to have a sumptuous meal. Great place to come with family and friends. The ambience is super and also the staff are courteous and helpful. The food would score high in terms of quantity, quality and taste. All in all the place offers good value for money.

Went there as zomato offered 25% off on bill which i finally got also. *Interior- its nice and well decorated same is nicely being arranged. *Food - Quite nice and quantity is also sufficient for 2 people to have it nicely . Waiter and staff is nice to help you out with the order as i ordered chicken patiala same was not there on menu but was a special dish which indeed was abit different and nice . *Staff behaviour- very nice and humble
