πŸ‘ One of the best pice hotel in Kolkata. Food quality is very good. Rate is affordable. Must try Posto bora, Ruhi Steam, Chingri Malaikari. AC dining also available, but price chart is little bit different for that. Their behaviour is very polite. Allover very good. (Ruhi posto and Dal is not good) People often mention Bengali, hotel, good, pice, visit, fish, bengali, taste, price, Kolkata,

Good place for lunch. Tasty homely style food is available here. The dishes are of pure authentic Bengali cuisine. Every thing is payable here and every dish has individual price. You can add items to form a platter/thali. Staff behaviour is good. They have a small ac section and non AC section for sitting. Tables here are shareable. Mutton dish, Rui bhapa(steamed fish) and mishti doi are a must try here.

'Pice hotel' that's the native way to define this eatery. Very famous amongst the offfice goers and locals. Cheap and best bengali cuisines available here. Reasonably clean dining space. The location is little bit odd but real travelers should visit once to feel the essence of quintessence 'Pice Hotel' of Kolkata.

Age old eatery located at the busiest ever Janbazar area. Walking distance from New Market this place serves one of the finest pure Bengali dishes. Priced moderately and run purely according to the pice hotel rules this place is famous for some of its signature delicacies like Postor bora, Maacher Kabiraji Jhol, Rui posto etc. Overall the visit was fantastic with majority of the dishes been superb. I tried Bhaat, daal, kaata tel chocchori, lau chingri, echor chingri, chicken and rui kosha here. A cost of two provided that we dine medium it shall be aroung 350. I am giving this 4 stars because the service could have been better here. A great place for any family, couple or friends to visit but absolutely with a Bengali taste bud. Caution is often a waiting queue here so have time in your hands.

Its a very old place serving authentic bengali food. I tried chingrir malaikari which was out of the world. Price was very very reasonable. For 180 they gave 2 pieces of prawns. They serve in kolar pata and matir bhar if you want. The staff behaviour is really nice. They took care of us very well. All the price was so reasonable. Taste of the food was awesome. Really had a good experience. Will go again for sure.

My favourite favourite favourite bengali restaurant. I only eat here whenever I am in a mood for pure bengali feast. Reasonable price, great taste, homely ambiance, friendly people. Only one minus point is: they don't provide bill, they don't have menu card. They only cook what was available in the bazar that day and the price is according to that only.

I was visiting Janbazar near Esplanade to get a picture frame done for a painting... Felt some hunger pang knocking around 1pm... Like a lightning this old gem memories came alive in my grey cells... Without any delay started walking towards this 110 years old legendary institutional pice hotel of Central Kolkata... Got a comfortable seat and readied myself for the feast... Bhaath on Kolapata is simply love along with lebu lonka and maatir bhaar, any Bengali would swear by it.... Ordered bhaath, maacher matha(fish head) chochori, aalu bhaja(potato fries), ghono moong daal and the Sidhheshwari Special Posto Bora(Poppy seeds fritter)... Trust me the chochori taste like heaven, simply unputdownable... Daal and alu are bhalobasha as usual... Post clearing the plate, had some space still in my belly so ordered my all time favourite Chingri Malai Curry( Prawn Malai Curry)... Quintessential it was... A must try for chingri lovers... Didn't had any more spare in my belly for their mutton or chicken items, but ended my feast with chaatni... At Sidhheshwari Ashram you will get Mango chatni all the year round... Packed one plate of chochori and Malai curry for my mom... The total bill came around Rs.550 which I consider personally as justified as per value goes... Do visit this place if you are there in Dharmatala or Janbazar... These restaurants will always send you home smiling...

Very good pice hotel to taste authentic Bengali food in the Esplanade area. Food is really very tasty. They have AC rooms which will cost a little bit extra. Try Kanta chocchori, Ruhi steam.

One of the famous & oldest restaurant where authentic bengali cuisine food can be tasted. The restaurant menu changes everyday. They have two types of seating arrangement one is AC and other is Non-Ac. In AC seating arrangement, every food item is 30-50 rupees higher than normal rate! This Pice hotel now at food prices can beat any Bengali cuisine restaurant!! On any Sunday many people come here to take lunch & one has to wait for sometime to get the seat.

Being a Bengali food maniac I love everything about the hotel. In the era of air conditioned beautiful restaurants, the hotel presents a classic ambience of the the pice hotel. The owner herself looks after the order, recommends a dish or two.. a homely atmosphere. Talking about the food, it's nice. Each and every fish item is finger licking. Sizes of the fishes served are larger than king size. Quality of the food is unquestionable.

One of the best pice hotels of Kolkata with authentic Bengali food at a very reasonable rate. Although it doesn't give you the luxury and comfort of big Bengali Restaurants, the taste and varieties are better than that of them at a much cheaper rate.

Century old eatery. Previously it was a boarding and lodging mess. Now full fledged restaurant. Food is tasty, moderately priced and quantity sufficient. Service is very prompt because all the items are cooked and ready to serve. But nothing outstanding. Moreover, the place is too much crowded and the seating arrangement is not comfortable. Actually local shop keepers, office people etc have their lunch here. Nowadays many people from far off places are going there due to some viral YouTube videos. Not that worthy.

We found this hotel near Sudder Street, it is awesome. If you're Bengali and want great taste like your home, it's the place. Don't order online food, come here and tell them to pack and then carry. They are 40% cheaper than online food. Also they serve food on Banana leaf, and water on matir var, it's awesome (you have to pay extra for that).

It is a pice hotel so the ambience is not up to the mark. And you cant even think about a bright and clean toilet where most of the pice hotels dont have toilets. The food quality is good and looked hygienic but they are overpriced. The most embarrassment is the price of glass, salt, lemon πŸ‹ they provide. Lol

My favorite bengali cuisine restaurant πŸ˜‹ πŸ’— It's authentic and homely. And low cost. You have to reach there by 1-1:30 pm to avail all the items in the menu. The owners are also very welcoming, will definitely help you to find out seat among the crowd. We have been visiting this place since college (5 years) and trust me neither the quality nor the quantity has been compromised.

You want to taste authentic Bengali food without the fancy ambience. You cannot miss the chaos of this place with its tastiest food on a banana leaf. Must try Prawn curry, Variety of fish preparation, even vegetables like Macher Matha diye Pui saag, Posto bora and all other yummies

I recently visited this place on a Tuesday afternoon. I reached there during lunchtime. Almost all of their items were finished at 3:30 pm in the afternoon. This speaks highly about how popular this place is among locals. I ordered rice, dal, cabbage with fish head (only vegetable that was available at that time), pabda fish curry, chicken curry, mango chutney, papad and sweet curd. The food tasted really awesome. Though I did not like the taste of plain dal. This place has a old world charm and you get a vibe as if time has stopped, once you enter this place. They serve the food on banyan leaf (placed on a steel plate) and water in a clay pot. If you are going towards dharmatala from moulali via S. N. Banerjee Road, this place will be on your left hand side and nearest bus stop to this place is Janbazar. This place has washroom facilities, though not very clean.

Excellent Bengali cuisine. Fishes are absolutely fresh. Reach at 1pm for the famous posto bora and fish fry. Try chicken dishes instead of mutton.

Amazing, absolutely amazing experience and not to be missed when in Kolkata. We had their vegetarian meal. Also had the sorshe bhetki, mutton curry and posto bora omg! Everything was so prompt, so fresh and just so beautifully prepared, it deserves all the praise. The staff was also so good and the service was very efficient and quick! I need to add if you want to experience the real Bengali food just come here you will never regret, this place is a hidden gem of Kolkata. Near landmarks are Wellington market, Aura hotel.

The food is delicious,no doubt about it... Food 10/10... Serving staff behaviour is also good, Everything is top notch. The place is too crowded,so you have to wait a little bit for your food. For students it's not pocket friendly rates, but for service holders no effect on the pocket.

The food was authentic Bengali cuisine. It felt really homemade. The owner was really sweet. There was a bit wait but it all seemed worthy once you taste the food. If you want all the food options, please visit before 2pm.

Great location - minutes walking from New Market and other major thoroughfares. The historic location with reference to Rani Rashmoni and the ambiance of the place ( high ceilings, wooden beams) add to the charm. Food is quite homely and not all popular items will be available at the time of your visit. I had dal, alu bhaja, shukto, catla maach and chatni. All good. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

For soulful Bengali food. Place is a treat for fish lovers. The shorshe bata pomfret is rich and yet the shorshe doesn't burn your mouth or inner nose. The fulkopi is damn right one of the best in the city. Kosha mangsho is correctly wah wah. And nothing will give you a single burp... 😁

One of the Famous Pice Hotels of Kolkata. It's located on the first floor of 19, Rani Rashmoni Road. One can dine in or take out parcels from the hotel. Try to visit early to avail the dishes, or else some items may be out of stock in later because of the popularity . I visited today around 12 PM . It's famous for its bengali cuisine. Tables're shareable. I ordered Rice, Daal, Alu Bhaja, Kochu Chingri, Mangshor Jhol(Mutton Curry) . The food was more than delicious, the taste was finger licking good. Personally, Kochu Chingri was the best. They served rice on Banana Leaf and water in bhaanr. The price was pocket friendly. Service was good.
