Exceptional hospitality is the first thing that needs to be mentioned about this beautiful dining spot. Conveniently located and easy to spot, there's free roadside parking near the place. The decor is tasteful and ambience is soothing with Rabindrasangeet in the background. Food is delicious to say the least. Do try their fish preparations. Seating may be limited due to lack of space so its recommended to reserve a table beforehand. Overall, one of the best dining experiences you can get in terms of Bengali food in Kolkata.

One of the best Bengali cuisine restaurant in South Calcutta. The nostalgic feeling of a Rajbaari dalan would be hovering in the back of mind. I would also say it is a perfect reminiscence of 80s dalan Bari adorned with ambience. Mild ranindrasangeet is played which adds a fetish flavour altogether. The chef is brilliant in bringing up the dishes from our old grandmother's recipe with a tinge of newness. Inspiration inbound.

Had a wonderful lunch at this newly opened restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the Chef and other staff. The staff was courteous and very professional and looked after us all the time and cleared our plates and removed our glasses even before we realised we were done eating and had empty crockery on the table. Food was wonderful and the dΓ©cor and other details of the restaurant such as temperature and soft Rabindra Sangeet was simply too good to be too true. We ordered Fried Fish and Mutton Cutlet as appetisers followed by a main course of prawns and Pulao and yet more fish. All in all, a place for all people wanting to experience exceptional Bengali cuisine served within a truly Bangaliana ambience.

Been to this wonderful place for dinner. The ultimate Bangaliana and Sahebiana Fusion is something one can enjoy here. The ambiance is of a fine cuisine restaurant tastefully done with soothing music makes your dining experience way more enjoyable. We ordered Chicken Salad Baligard β‚Ή150 Thakurbarir Pulao β‚Ή150 Ol Die Mangso β‚Ή350 The salad was great im taste with perfect fusion of tastes and textures. Thakurbarir pulao was really outstanding and tasted authentic. Ol die mangso was a Mutton item and something I tried for the first time. Highly recommended Overall a great dining experience

A must visit ..awsome fantastic restaurant.. Today it's really a great day for us. Six of our office friends today after lots of argument decided to visit a new restaurant. After lots of research.. permutations and combination one of our friends soumya recommended to visit a very new outlet named Baraanda. For a typical authentic bengali cuisine. We were doubtful as the unit is just 3 months old. Location : near to ballygaunge cultural / samaj sebi puja pandal place, near to Kamala girls high school. Parking place available. Ambience: 5/5.. Small but very cute , only 24 covers. Elegantly designed. Giving a feeling of ΰ¦¬ΰ¦¨ΰ§‡ΰ¦¦ΰ¦Ώΰ§Ÿΰ¦Ύΰ¦¨ΰ¦Ύΰ₯€ Interior is designed keeping in mind the house of jamindars / upper class families of times before Independence. We were welcomed and greeted by a very cheerful energetic person Mr.Prasenjit. And I will say that he is an asset to this restaurant. Food:. 5/5. (With an extra *) Starter:Gondhoraj friend chicken 5/5 Morola macher piyaji 5/5 Main course:dhoney pata Bata murgi 5/5 Jhal bhuna mangsho( mutton)5/5 Narkol Bata chingri 5/5 Thakurbarir polau 4/5 Basanti pulao. 5/5 Luchi tukri 4/5 Dessert:. Baked chom chom 5/5 Amaotto khejurer chatni. 5/5 Crispi gajorer halua 5/5 The food are awesome.. we were so pleased that we even forgot to thank / congratulate the Chef. If you are really a foodie and have love for authentic Bengali cuisine.. then this unit deserve your visit.. it's a must must try. Pocket pinch: accurately budgeted by zomato. For us 6 people the bill was 3130/= . One portion is enough for two people. Lastly Like to comment for the management of this unit.. pls don't change your chef.. maintain the food quality.. your customer will be ready to pay more if you can maintain the food quality. All your negativity (though we have not noticed any thing) will be overcome by the Great quality of food that you have served today. Thank you Baraanda for giving us such pleasure today.

This restaurant is located near sothern Avenue and holds a beautiful bengali theme. But their menu is way too overpriced. They charged us 450 for daab chingri which had 4 small pieces of prawn and some curry. This was totally a turn off for us as we had high expectations from this place. The bhetki paturi was just like any other Bengali cuisine restaurant. I wouldn't recommend another visit to this restaurant. The staff was very cordial and helpful though.

One of the most elegantly designed restaurants in Kolkata. Beautiful decor. Spacious and initmate. Food is great too. Specializes in authentic Bengali cuisine. Courteous and friendly staff. Pricing is slightly on the higher side but worth it for the experience. Best for a quiet and soulful lunch or dinner.

A must visit for all Bengali cuisine lovers out there. This restaurant is located at the food hub of South Kolkata, ie. Southern Avenue. Let me start from the decor of the place. It has a grand touch of Zamindari style. The staff were very good - courteous, well behaved, well groomed, quick service. The foods served there too has a royal touch mixed with typical Bengali flavour. We ordered- 1) Gandharaj Lassi- A Lassi with a flavour of Gandharaj lime. 2) Gandharaj fried chicken- A plate full of boneless chicken strips with a touch of Gandharaj lime. 3) Thakur Barir Pulao- Pulao with handful of vegetables, cashew nuts & raisins with strong aroma of ghee. 4) Aam Kashundi Ilish- The queen of fish cooked with mustard & mango. 5) Kasha Mangsho- The famous mutton curry of all time. The best I had. 6) Crispy Gajar Halwa- The well known Gajar Ka Halwa served in a crispy coating along with Kheer & topped with a creamy layer I will recommend all the above mentioned dishes. Trust me, you will thank me later.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Recently visited this place and trust me, it was worth every penny. The ambiance was great. We had Mutton Chello Kebab. The kebabs were very juicy and tender, I couldn't stop drooling! The egg yolk was runny and just perfect. The rice portion had a nice fresh smell and all together it was magical in...

😐 Simply come here for the atmosphere and history. Nothing should be eaten here. Cold coffee was a letdown. It was cold water that had been sweetened with a pinch of coffee. The fish kaviraji was satisfactory. Despite the fact that there is a no-smoking sign on the premises, I observed people smoking...
