I used to visit this place with my grandparents and wanted to do so again after nearly 25yrs! But on this occasion it was disappointing. I have to say the fried rice lacked the taste and the vegetables were so over-cooked that they lost the taste and freshness.

Good food . Little bit of legacy here and there at the place . Built before 1947. Though don't know much about this Mr. Jimmy but it's kitchen provide a bit oily chinese delicacy .prawn golden fry with too heavy crumb though prawn after a long time tasted like prawn . Hot garlic fish and shrimp noodle is decent enough fill your stomach and your senses. Rest all were okay, ambience seems to be fine but has a charm of old chinese joint. They serve alcohol as well if anybody has a reason for it . Yeah,over all I liked it as Saturday lunch where you don't demand anything except solace...

An old-timer of Kolkata, this was the place I had my first Chinese meal, sometime in 1973. In this visit I found the food average. Only the Hakka noodle passed the muster.

Their food was superbly delicious, I tried Roasted pork, their special fried rice, fried chilli chicken and lollipops, pork pieces were so soft, chick items were too good also, and the rice also liked very much. Not deducting any star but the price could be a bit less😊

This was a reference from my foodie friend and I just go by his recommendation when it's Kolkata. The place looks like a drink joint and has liquor served. The chinese food is perfectly what you would want to to please your taste buds. Loved rhe shrimp chicken fried rice and the roasted Pork. The wanton soup was the best I have had with the wantons perfectly made with enough meat and size to submerge in the broth. Prices are moderately high.Taste of food is not as per expectation.Staffs are not courteous at all.They should behave well with customer. I have seen to refuse to provide finger bowl to a customer who has mobility problem. During visit to restaurant we requested to serve the food but waiter simply denied.Worst service

Being a chinese food lover I have a wish to visit the the joint but every time made a plan of visiting the place it got cancelled or shifted to another place. Being one of the oldest and renowned chinese joint of the city it holds its charm. By looking it from the outside never thought it has such a calm and sober atmosphere inside. No coming to the food, we had: Chicken Wanton Soup (Rs. 280): It contains of 4 pieces of succulent wanton in a clear soup with soup sprin onion sprinkled on it. The wantons were nice and juicy and it surely give a nice feel to your taste buds. One of the best Wantons I have tasted. Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice (Rs. 410): Oh my god..!! One of the best fried rice served in and around our city. Filled with chicken ,shrimp and veggies it has perfect balance of authentic chinese flavour in it. Just loved it. Chilli Chicken (Boneless, 8pcs) (Rs. 450): Again as it is known as the best chilli chicken in the town, it totally justifies the tag. One of the best flavoured chilli chicken I have tasted. It doesn't contain any chunks of onion and bell pepper, only it contains chopped chilli. It comes in gravy and dry version whichever one prefers. The chicken were soft, juicy, well marinated and thin coated. *Note: The only thing which bothered me was the price, it can be a little lesser depending on the quantity. The quality was top notch.

The good quality food undoubtedly but the pricing is on the higher side. Cant afford to have meal daily on office hours. Weekend days yes surely preferred.

Food is good but price is on the higher side. There are better options available in Kolkata for that price. Though the restaurant is small but ambiance is good and well decorated. However, the staff may have been more attentive towards their customers.

Although, expectations were very high and the gathering rather formal, enjoyed the meal which borders delicious and healthy. The portions per plate is adequate hence, if you are not big eater, order in moderation. Soups and salads are highly recommend and needless to say divided by two ... only problem I faced was with the airconditioner,as it's chilly and can't be turned down....so yes, best to come prepared with a coat ..

Test of food was excellent I love it. The behaviour of waiters are very polite and good. But if you want alcoholic drinks you have to show your age proof that is bad for me but all over it is excellent experience..

Price is 20% higher compared to the quantity. Only mix chow and chilli chicken are worth to eat. Really tasty! After a many years I visited this restaurant. Maximum people ordering the above dishes. Serving plates could be better quality.

Food was ok, but in this cuisine kolkata have better places with better ambiance, portion size, taste, and last but not the least price. One plate very average size golden fried prawn costs 620 plus tax which has only 4pieces.
