Mezban is one the our favourite places for Biriyani and Chaap. We have been regulars at this place for almost 25 plus years. Nothing have really changed about this place. Which is good in terms of Food taste and most importantly quality . Firstly the food they serve us was piping hot which is good in terms of enjoying Biriyani and Chaap. Very Important. Taste wise good. Quantity wise good. The place just needs a better house keeping upgrade. Overall my rating about this place is average. But give it a try. Happy eating everyone

Delicious food. Our group of 5 shared 3 plates of biryani as well as one curry and one very large kebab. It was all tasty. We had the chicken cheese kebab which was unusual but tasty. It is huge and is best as a side shared with at least 3 or 4 people.

It most famous restaurant in Ripon Street, Kolkata, Nearly in 1990's near by it was established and become very famous for its food quality, earlier i was found of its biryani, chap, tikia etc, during lock down they started lock down biryani reducing the rates and till date it is quite famous, during Ramjan they prepare chicken/mutton halim and quite tasty, Nearly ten years back expand their venture near by with AC accomodation and tandoori items. At present date also without doubt their tandoori roti is quite superb and unbeatable. This can be tried with chap, tikia, rezala etc. Original restaurant is quite clumsy and crowded, side by with AC is less crowded but not so hygienic, what ever i love the items of Mezban specially the roti.

Mezban is a famous restaurant on Ripon st. serving mostly Mughlai foods. I went there in a winter morning to have the Mutton Nihari. I really liked the taste. There was no overpowering aroma and the meat was very tender. You can have either tandoori roti or dalpuri with the Nihari. Price: Half plate 150/- (1 piece mutton), full plate 280/- (2 piece).

Taste is Good. Pricing is moderate. In comparison to similar restaurants, I felt starters were priced a bit high but taste well. Main course gravy taste well and were budget friendly but comparatively lesser quantity. Biryani was also moderate - not spicy. Not everyone will like it especially those who love biryanis on spicier side. Improvements should be done in terms of varieties and innovations. More dishes should be welcomed in an innovative style. I know many people still like the traditional way but then there are many who is looking for the change

I ordered chicken Manchurian and I received this. Very bad taste and I vomited twice. Horrible taste. I ordered food at 11.20 pm and they have gave food to some other delivery boy. I waited more than hour and I got so horrible food at 12.42 am in night.

Place is awasome, feel old mughlai style restaurants. Food is no doubt too good. Biryani & Mutton Stew must try. Kebabs are also so juicy and tender.

Tried the mutton Nihari and Mutton Paya coupled with Tandoori Roti. The Nihari was average, the gravy tasted good but I wish mutton pieces were softer and tender. But then whenever I have Nihari, I benchmark it against the one (beef though) available at Sufia hotel opposite Nakhoda mosque. They set such a high standard for this particular dish, its almost impossible for other eateries to catch up. The mutton paya was decent but not outstanding. I was told to try their Dal Gost which I intend to do. Will share feedback.

Nice restaurant. Food quality is decent. But parking is tough because of the narrow road. Right side a takeaways couner available. I will suggest not go with two wheeler. Because only opositive foothpath is the only place for bike Parking.

Overpriced place with very few food options. We tried Mezban restaurant in October 2021. It has decent seating space and is located close to park Street. Their speciality is mughlai mutton dishes. We ordered Mutton chaap, mutton stew, fish fry and kheema naan. The mutton chaap was quite hard, but the stew was good. We had asked for a few egg options but the waiter just refused to offer any other options than Mutton. Anything would have a standard response of time lagega sir. The place is pricey as compared to the quantity served. Lot of Swiggy orders keep going so it appears that dining in guests are given what's already available and nothing fresh is prepared on order.

Early morning extravaganza in Mezban. Located along the back side of Parkstreet, this place offers you mouthwatering breakfast. We had Dal Gosht (5/5) Mutton Nihari (5/5) Dal Puri and Tandoori Roti. Awesome and I will be back for trying the Paya as well

Normally I hold them very high in ratings but today I felt cheated. Ordered for dal makhani , tadka and crispy chicken. On reaching home saw that they have given tadka in both containers, only difference was a few pieces of makhana in one container. Crispy chicken was anything but crispy it was like any other chicken curry with a lot of red chillies. These simple orders took them 45 minutes. The person at the counter was also very impolite. Time and money both wasted. Very bad.

Those who loves spicy biriyani, he/she can try it. Its not value for money. Chicken biriyani is 230 & mutton biriyani is 250. No egg in biriyani. Quantity wise ok for one. You can have better piece of mutton & tasty biriyani in other restaurants.

Accomodation is not bad. They have another outlet adjacent to it. One can try their chicken kassa, rezala, stew, Nan,tandoori roti, paratha. Chicken tandoori and kebabs are delicious but pricing may be reconsidered. When it comes to chicken and mutton biryanis some amendments may be required. The vicinity has some vibes. They have late night services and breakfast facility.

Please do not order online or from Zomato, if you want to eat and go and eat there. They make a cheaper version for online delivery and Zomato and swiggy. I have had this experience more than once from Mezban. The food they deliver has cheaper rice quality, with excess salt. The food was absolutely aweful.

I had a great experience at Mezban restaurant. Their biryani was incredibly tasty, and the overall quality of the food was highly satisfying. I want to recommend their "Lockdown biryani" to everyone โ€“ it's priced at just 120 INR with cash and 126 INR with UPI due to GST. This option offers a fantastic chicken biryani that's surprisingly similar to their regular chicken biryani despite the lower cost. It's an excellent choice for those seeking great flavors without the usual expense. Moreover, Mezban offers a variety of other delicious food items that are equally delightful. While there might be occasional delays in service, the overall quality of the food and the dining experience more than make up for it. One important note is that the "Lockdown biryani" is available only offline and not through platforms like Swiggy or Zomato. So, if you're interested in trying it, make sure to visit the restaurant directly.

Awesome food as usual, I loved the dalpuri for morning breakfast, very light, crunchy with minced channa dal filling inside. Cost Rs rupees per Puri. But you have to come early in the morning because they distribute token number, and it's very crowded just for the Puri, and token number crosses above 100 , so if u arrived late you have to wait for your turn to come, it may take an hour.

The food is excellent, especially the tandoori items and also the mutton stew. Service is prompt and the interiors are of good standard. One of the lesser known outlets, but could surely give the Arsalans & Nizams a run for the money

Nice restaurant. They have 2 separate place for AC and Non-AC. Non AC is named Mezwan and Non AC one named as Dasturkhwan. Staff behaviour was good but they're not wearing masks. Need more focus on table turnover.

Went for dinner on a friend's advice. The place is located in a congested area near Saint Xavier's. Food is tasty and deserves a second visit, but, I will avoid only because of the overall experience that is below par compared to other nearby options.
