This place is an absolute gem. I was looking for a place for authentic Bengali cuisine which is close to my home and this place was a true revelation. Located exactly at Jadavpur Police station crossing (right next to Ashok Laboratory) - 2 mins walking distance from South City mall, this stylishly decorated eatery is a must visit. The interiors are tastefully done and the ambiance is classy and peaceful. Coming to the food, I had ordered Bhetki Fish fry, Prawn Cutlet, White Pulao, Daab Chingri, Chital Mach er Muitha, Mutton Kosha, Gondhoraaj Ghol and Freshlime soda and was really impressed by the taste. The Daab Chingri was the best thing that I had in a long time. Being a probashi Bengali I am extremely particular about authentic Bengali food - particularly fish, which I rarely get to eat and I was really impressed with all the preparations. The staff was nice and friendly and all safety and hygiene protocols were maintained. From a cost perspective its reasonably priced and if you have Zomato pro you can get good discount as well. I will give them a big thumbs up and will be back soon again.

We had an amazing time here on our first visit. The place is easy to locate , off Jadavpur thana road towards South City. Free Parking available on first come first serve basis. Interiors look old school and rustic. Coming to the food, we had a great experience. The service was good and the owner keeps a close watch out for the guests (quality, service and customer experience).

It was my first time at Calcutta Pi. I was expecting it to be a great experience but I didn't enjoy the food that much. I asked for their best recommendation as well.. however I didn't get the authentic Bengali taste. Mutton was half cooked in mutton kosha.. Bhetki was half baked in bhetki paturi.. rice was too sweet in basanti pulao.. daab chingri was horrible in taste and it hardly had any flesh in it.. Too expensive food for its poor taste. Starters were better though.

One of the best bengali restaurants in South Kolkata with an Amazon spread of items to choose from. The paturi was one of the best I've ever had and the dhonepata kachalonka murgi was delicious. Would recommend it to any bengali food lovers.

It was an amazing experience dining in here. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and the interior had the theme of a traditional house of Kolkata. It is highly recommended for those who wants authentic bengali dishes at a reasonable price. I must say that the quality and quantity of food is totally satisfying at its cost. Especially, the 'Daab Chingri' was awesome and is definitely one of the best dishes of this restaurant. One also must try the 'Chicken Cheeze Cutlet', 'Bhetki Paturi' and 'Aam Porar Shorbot'. The service was also very good and all the staffs were very well behaved. Overall, it was really an awesome experience having lunch here.

Must try Norkel diya cholar dal , Aloo phool kopi rasa not recommended I had lunch there and they serve pure be gali cuisines and very limited north indian(that too cooked in Bengali style). This is the nearest restaurant for people coming to CSIR- CGCRI or Jadavpur University Try dal and bhat and must taste aloo bhaja.(aloo lachcha for North Indians). Phool gobhi veg was not good ,I mean I didn't like the taste.

Mind blowing. Awesome to say the least. Be it the scrumptious Daab Chingri or the Fish fry, everything was top notch. Perfect ambience. And to be honest, far far better than the other overrated & overpriced Bengali cuisine restaurants in the City. Please do give this place a try! And way to go Calcutta Pi ❀️

It is a simple restaurant with simple decor. Pretty comfortable for families, friends and couples or solo diners. Food is really good when we dine in, however the only reason I gave it 4* is due to my food delivery experience of their Murshidabadi Grilled Chicken. The food delivery chicken seemed undercooked and had a raw smell. However, my companion and I have tried the following food to dine in, over our span of 2 visits here: Luchi, Polao, Biryani, Chanar Dalna, Dhonepata Kacha Lanka Murgi. All of the items were light on the stomach and extremely delicious. The quality and quantity both are sufficient. Service is very nice, however I am giving it 4* since at times it is hard to call over the servers since they are not around often.

The taste of the food was great but the quantity was too less! Daab chingri ta just fatafati khete 6ilo. On the contrary, mutton kosha tasted pretty strange which was not delicious at all! Murshidabadi grilled chicken was in little portion, the restaurant needs to enhance their portion for the betterment of their business purpose only.

Good place for bengali food. Starters are not so good. We didn't like fish kabiraji. But all the main course dishes are very tasty except mangser (mutton) jhol. Mutton kosha was really good but jhol was tasteless. Service is ok. Atmosphere is normal.

The place is quaint, decorated to add old world charm to its interiors and modern furnishings were properly used to provide a unique ambience. The place had ample seatings available on a Saturday afternoon. Food was very delicious and fresh. The taste was lip smacking for almost all the dishes. We ordered: Bhetki thali- had option of one from paturi, sorshe, jhal. Took sorshe. Chingrir Malay curry: Had two large galda chingri and was awesome. Must have with steamed rice. Kanchalanka dhonepata murgi- boneless legs of chicken cooked in a delicious tangy, mild spicy gravy. Luchi - fluffy yet crisp maida luchi - all was perfectly round. Gondhoraj chicken fry - not crisp but juicy chicken skewers with strong essence of gondhoraj lebu. Fish fry: 2 pieces were served. It was perfect. Basanti polao: Extremely good and soft as well as fluffy. Sweetness was very mild and had a proper balance. Potol dolma non veg : had prawn stuffing and was tasty too.

I found it accidentally during finding some good dine in restaurant at night when most of the restaurant were closing. But I was impressed by its service as well as the quality of food they provide that time. Almost all dishes in the menu were available though it's was a odd time to get everything available. Highly recommended to taste "Doi Katla".

I visited last sunday very disappointed with the service. From the outside the interior looked so amazing plus the ratings in google are pretty nice. Honestly the interior & decors are pretty good. But the services took so much of time, just for a plate mochar chop, cup tea & coffee took more than 30 minutese. Rest of the order took another 15 minutes. That evening except us there were only 4 people. So next time onwards I will not visit that place & will not suggest anyone. Thanks.

😐 Simply come here for the atmosphere and history. Nothing should be eaten here. Cold coffee was a letdown. It was cold water that had been sweetened with a pinch of coffee. The fish kaviraji was satisfactory. Despite the fact that there is a no-smoking sign on the premises, I observed people smoking...
