Visited this iconic eatery on New Year's Day 2022. We ordered Chicken Ala Kiev, Chicken Ala Olypub in the main course with a pint of beer and a few other drinks. Our total bill was around 1.5k. No complain regarding the food quality and ambience, but noticed some major changes in the food prices of this restaurant. The price of every food item increased by around Rs 100 since my last visit (October 2021). This price hike dis not match with the portion of food served. Also the waiters ask for tip straightaway once they handover the bill, and if you don't pay, they create a scene. The restaurant should make an effort to maintain the standard of this iconic place.

It is one of the oldest pubs in Park Street and the price is very reasonable. The food quality is great as well. I loved their chicken tikka.

Poorly behaved staffs. Specifically, the doorman will not let you go, until you tip him. The waiters will not let you sit at a table of 4, if you’re two people and even if the bar is empty. Very irritating behaviour, poor customer service. People keep coming here for the continental dishes, which is good but doesn’t neutralise the poor service rendered by them. Ambience is also very poor. The tables and seating places aren’t even clean. Very poorly maintained joint.

Famous for its beef stake. I can't rate it. It is still nostalgia of college days for me. They got almost all brands of drinks available but no cocktail is served here. It has got an old looking interior not like today's trendy bars but that's where it apeals to me. Chicken ala kiev also very good. You can also complete your dinner here with few traditional Chinese dishes. Pricewise it is at per with any moderate park street hotels

Okay place, management not good as seating are available but you can’t sit in six seating as you have four people only ☹️. Bad experience waited for more than 40 mins standing inside at 1st floor. Food is also okay, overrated due to it’s historical importance. Not much recommended. Don’t try mutton steaks specially if you don’t like mutton with sauces.

Best place for beef steak and chicken ala-kiev Both the dishes are outstanding. The ambiance and the food quality is too good. Chicken tandoori is perfectly cooked. Pleased with the quality of food they serve.

Good experience, the first floor wasn't open so don't know about that yet but very good food. The Chicken A la kiev was to die for! The beef steak was a little overcooked, thus chewy but otherwise it was fantastic!

This is a nostalgic place right at the heart of the city. The location is awesome. This is one of the oldest places in Park Street area. They don't have very fancy ambience. The price is reasonable. Food is testy and the service is good. I would recommend this place to hangout with your friends. Sharing photo of some of their signature dishes.

A very famous, old pub located at Park Street. Location wise it’s a really good place. They serves cheap alcohols, food over years. Chicken Ala kiev was good as well as the chicken cutlet. Quantity was more. Very affordable price. But the surrounding is very noisy, loud.

Decent service, the prices are reasonable on average, with some beings average price and some drinks priced a bit too high. A place filled with nostalgia for every generation and this gets the biggest weightage.

I had been told Park St contains some great pubs. This isn't one of them. It is rather more like would those of us used to India or Bangladesh would call a 'hotel' but that's more like a truck driver's 'greasy diner' to Western minds. Very little beer on at the time of writing so the menu was mainly fiction. I saw plates of food and, frankly, didn't fancy taking the risk. However, the place was actually quite clean and was the kind of atmosphere where chatting with others there is quite natural. I had some food conversations with some guys while I drank my (sole) beer. Be warned, the staff expect a tip which I begrudgingly gave. I won't be going again.

Probably the most popular bar in Park Street and one of the oldest. Started in 1947 as Olympia and in 80's the name was changed to Olypub. Previously the prices of hard drinks were cheapest in this area and the food was quite tasty. A favourite of the intellectuals. Not so anymore. Mostly the young crowd throngs there and after sundown it becomes almost full. Combined ground floor and first floor seating capacity is huge. Number of staff are not many and it takes quite a long time to get the ordered items during peak hours. If someone wants to have a couple of shots peacefully, then this is not the right place, but it's good for groups who don't mind the cacophony and add a decible or two gleefully. One can always pay a visit to get the feel of a different kind of ambience in Park Street.

Old favourite from the college days (only bar in the Park Street we could afford). Visited multiple time and still go there. Recently they renovated and also the crowd profile changed. Food is still great, especially the steak and mashed potato.

A very old pub and famous with the young crowd for being budget-friendly. Though its located on Park Street, which is the high street in Kolkata, don't expect swanky decor or gourmet food. Staffs are very friendly and always eager to serve but always ask for tips. But they agree to any amount of tips

Only the name remains , it's all about tip here , after paying the complete bill ,if waiters are not tipped enough ,they will give you LOOKS and won't hesitate passing comments , I'd doesn't end there ,your are trying to walk out of the place the security guard will literally chase you and ask to be tipped at the top of his voice , best careful that you are carrying enough extra cash to tip the people .COVID -19 precautions look like a joke you can sit anywhere and have your drinks. CHEERS

Nice place in pocket friendly price . You can have good snacks , awesome πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž continental dishes over their if u want to get a old kolkata's pub experience then go for it . Ambience is so good also and one more thing in this time due to lockdown and covid all menus are not available so you can choose from the selected, good place for family and friends must try dishes are steak, fish fingers.. if u r thinking to visit on weekends then must visit early between lunch time it will be full.

Its one of the oldest bar in kolkata. One of the most renowned bar in the Parkstreet area. Its always a trend to go there and enjoy your drink. ITS located in Parkstreet. As always its almost full all the time. It have 2 floors and both are centrally air-conditioning. The best thing is that now they have started taking card payments. Its famous for its beef steak. Which is quite famous and good. Rather tasty. I had chicken ala keiv which was not at all good. The butter was not totally melted. The worst-case over here is that the service if you want to enjoy your drink you can't as they will serve you the bill without asking for it. And indirectly will say you please leave.... Didn't expected it from this iconic bar. The food stranded has just fallen bellow.. The price is now quite a high its better to choose other bar than this you can literally enjoy and have the beers. The price is same as famous restaurant in Parkstreet.

This is one of the oldest pub in Part Street just few mins from Trincas. The bar have two floor, the upper floor is quite decorative compared to the ground floor. Prices of Alcohol and food are quite reasonable as compared to other bars in Park street. In beers both 330 ml and 650 ml are available. All the alcohol are served with hot chanachur which is unlimited. Must try: Beef steak Chicken Ala kiev Fried Chicken. Best time to visit: 4:30 onwards except Christmas time.

Situated near the park hotel, a 5 mins walk from the Park Street metro station, this place serves some very good food options. We have tried two of their signature dishes- 1. Chicken Ala-Kiev 2. Beef steak with smashed potato This two dishes taste so good, and i liked both of them specially the beef steak was amazing. Earlier known as Olympia bar & restaurant, later renamed as Olypub (1981),one of the oldest bar cum restaurant in the city makes sure one has a great food experience by offering highly palatable food. The liquor prices are on a cheaper side as compared to other bar & restaurants near the location. My only bad experience at this place was they were selling packaged drinking water for much higher price over the MRP & putting GST on that. Overall, this place is very good for hanging out with your friends & family.

Carries a bit of old Kolkata nostalgia. Ambience of this place is good, so is the food. We ordered- Beef steak Chicken ala kiev (just perfect) Roasted mutton (tasted good) All the dishes are mouthwatering & tasted very good. The Chicken A la kiev is worth to die for.πŸ˜‹ The beef steak was a little overcooked & quantity doesn't suffice to the price(which is more than 500 now). They also offer alcoholic beverages at affordable prices. But, limited choices. Perhaps would be better if they had more choices for the beer. Service isn't good & staff's behavior isn't polite. The waiters ask for tip once they handover the bill, and if you don't pay, they create a scene. Also, the doorman creates this type of awful scene, if you don't pay him tip. So, authority should increase their salary or change the staff members. The restaurant should make an effort to maintain the standard of this iconic place. Overall average experience. Wouldn't visit here soon.

If you are looking for a posh and good ambience then Olypub is not the place. Its that local bar where you can sit and drink. Good for friends gathering. Not a good place for couple. Very noisy. Food is so so. Earlier it was better but now the food quality is not as good as before. Their last order time is 10p.m. we went on a Saturday night so it very busy. They served food very late like we ordered at 9.10 p.m and got around 9.50. But they were saying Again and again 10.30 is the last time and we need to leave by then. We were there till 10. 45. They didn’t force us to leave. If you are going there try there chicken liver fry, till now the best.😁

The place is always jam packed. Fortunately we got a table right away on a busy weekday evening. It was filled with office goers stopping by for a quick drink. The prices of the drinks are reasonable by park Street standards. The place could be cleaner, alot cleaner especially the tables. In the post COVID era cleanliness is everything. We ordered some of the popular dishes of this place besides drinks. Chicken ala Kiev : 2 smaller sized pieces are served instead of 1 big one. Minced chicken wrapped around a dallop of butter and deep fried. Personally I have had better ala Kiev. But this one was also good.(4/5) Mutton Roast: The star dish. Just amazing. That's it (5/5) Charteau Briand ( beef steak): No over the top frills. The waiter doesn't ask for the way you want the steak( rare, medium or well done). You order and they serve. The chef decides it. And they do an amazing job. The steak was medium done served with poached egg with a side of mashed potatoes. The steak blew my mind. (5/5) Chicken tikka kebab: it's as you would expect it to be.(3/5). The waiters are quick on their feet. They have to be. The place is always packed. You have to give credit to their service. I think it's best to order continental dishes here as they specialise in it. Also they don't pay much heed to presentation as is evident from the picture of the kebab. Would surely visit again for a drink or two

The pristine aboriginal pub in Parkstreet area, olypub boasts of its steaks and ala kievs. Supplemented with apposite beverage options like a chilled beer, I sampled the steak which came along with poached egg, mashed potato and peas. Such succulent it was that despite feeling almost full, I ordered one more and gulped that too like a glutton.

My first time it was in this iconic place. Food & Service are good. Drinks were fairly priced. But but but the vibe and atmosphere of the First floor of this place is poles apart from the nice ground floor. Too much noisy and it's poor lighting was a mood breaker.

I loved the place on historical aspect . Was very enthusiastic to order some of the iconic dishes but was disappointed with warmness and tastes . They dont serve any form of cocktails . There were couple of guyz came and they were yelling so terribly after getting drunk but no one from management came accross and warn them . Folks it's not a downscale pub . I had great expectations from this place. But I was disappointed. They didn't allow us to go upstairs and so we had to sit downstairs where there is no AC and also it's not that cozy.. The service of the waiter was not at all polite! They demanded for more tip than what we actually gave. After bill payment, they didn't even let us sit and chat for even 15mins, even if the restaurant was almost empty, they just forced us to go out. It was so much insulting.. The only reason I gave it 2stars is because of it's food and reasonable price of the same. The food was average. We ordered Chicken Ala Kiev and Chicken Ala Olypub. The latter was not very good but the former was fine. Quantity of both the items was fine.

Nostalgia, mostly, brought us down here again. Basic bar, quick service. Limited optionns on beers, but the fish was good. Drop by for a quick beer after a hectic day at office. No frills. Or come back for nostalgia, and stand the risk of being a lil underwhelmed. Holds on to shreds of old world charm.

Nice and cheap. However I really don't like the service but anyway it's good , clean and place is nostalgic. If you are from kolkata and know the ambience of the famous Coffee House, then it is just similar to it. However, they have not reduced the price of drinks although the market price is reduced as per the news of December 2021. The worst scenario is, the security guard and the service boys literally beg for tips πŸ˜’ and irritates a lot. However some food items are really good and mind blowing

Ordered their signature dish Chicken Ala Olypub and Chicken Ala Keiv for starters. I absolutely loved their Chicken Ala Olypub but the Chicken Ala Keiv was avarage. For maincourse we ordered Masala Kulcha, Butter Naan and Chicken Butter Masala. I dont know why we ordered these. It was not good but I must say this place is really pocket friendly.

Well this place needs no description for anyone from kolkata. One of the iconic bars that we have. Went there just to relive the old days and have some beef steak. Had few beers a beef steak and chicken alacave. All the dishes were really nice.

A conventional Park Street bar. Nostalgia and Old world charm loaded with new age service. Service staff could have been a tad better however the two signature dish Chicken Alakiev and Beef Steak didn't disappoint. Alcohol here is probably the cheapest all across Park Street. Good place to spend a couple of hours.

This place is one of the oldest pub in Kolkata. Very famous and cheap pub in parkstreet area. Their Chicken Ala kiev is all time fav dish. I am not so buttery person so kinda feeling monotonous to eat cz its so heavy. Then comes the chicken omlet , so yum n tasty. They have variety range of Drinks which are mostly cheapest according to me in area like parkstreet. However, we didnot like the chicken tikka kebab, It was of bittery taste and the mint chutney is so bad that we forgot to take picture of that dish. Overall, I recommend to try here atleast fir once. Affordable and nice 😊

It is a place where you can spend time with friends. Food is okay. The staffs ask for tips. If you are going there try the beef steak. The chicken Alakeiv is also nice.

I visited this place few months back .. it’s a very old & famous one in park street . They have their signature dish like beef steak & chichkn Kiev .. this place is not like posh & well decorated one.. but it’s a cheap pricing place for food & drink. The place is not good , I don’t like the ambiance here at all . It’s like local place .. the people comes are also weird . Staff behaviour is good but not like very well mannered in the recent cafΓ©s & restaurant. You can go when your pocket is almost done.

Be ready to be ported to the old world Charm. It's not like the present day pubs, one may get confused with a coffee shop with adequate lighting and canteen like set-up. Excellent food especially their mutton cutlet and burgers. One can enjoy intellectual conversation over a drink or enjoy your solidarity with a book. No music, No frills.

One of those places synonymous with Park Street and Kolkata. Famous for its steak and mixed grills. Good for stags and couples.

Visited this iconic pub after a gap of many years. Interiors have changed beyond reccognition and so has the client profile. Staples like mixed grill, beef steak, roast mutton etc are still pretty good and reasonably priced.

It was a time we use to be very regular at this bar. Visited almost after 5-6yrs . Everything has changed. Great renovations, good looking but still lacks service as before. Food quality has also degrated.
