First impression, poor! The staff had no idea about parking fair enough, eventually found a car park around the corner. Came back, toilets are grim, tea machine had a sign "ask a member of staff if you want a hot drink" so I did and they said they have no idea. Let's hope everything else is perfect. Second review After leaving my son just before 11am (whilst I found parking), he was seen three times for checks, then at 11.37 he was told he was going in for the laser treatment, I was told to be back between 60-90 minutes to take him home. At 12.30 my son rang me to tell me that they had problems with the machine and he will need to make his way to a different location, they said get lunch and they will call us. At 1.35 they called and said " make your way to optical express as they are ready for him." We arrived at 1.40 and we are still waiting at 14.21. Can I give less than 1 star? Third review My son finally went in just after 3pm, came out within 15 minutes, he was shaking from the adrenaline, and then sat down in the waiting room (amongst several other people) for several minutes to try to calm down. Ordered a cab back to Harley Street to pick up the car and recently got home where he has just gone straight to sleep. All in all, it wasn't a good service, for £4200 i was expecting a lot better!

Went for an initial consultation for laser eye surgery. I was greeted by a 18-19 years old girl with no customer service training or interpersonal skills. All the initial assessments were done by her. Terrifying! The worse part was the comment on my antidepressant medication. Her exact words “ you guys with depression could react to the staff or do something during the treatment”. Excuse me? What type of company are you running? As if that was not insulting enough, finally met the ophthalmologist. A grumpy woman that had anger issues and no interest in me as a patient. I felt very uncomfortable. Overall, I felt that I had to run. Their bathrooms are worse than public toilets. I nearly threw up … disgusting! I had to shower when I got home. Stop cutting corners! Hire some professional staff and offer them trainings!

I’ve have such a wonderful experience at the clinic. From the start I had a very thorough consultation with Robert who talked me through the whole experience and reassured me about the eye surgery. I was also seen for eye check-ups by a few eye Doctors to ensure my eye was fit for the procedure. I did suffer from dry eyes as a result of using contact lenses for 10 years, and this was solved by using intensive eye drops leading to the surgery. Each visit I had at the Harley street clinic, I felt very welcomed and very comfortable. I Finally had my procedure which went successfully. I have been booked in for eye check ups, so I’m very happy with the aftercare the clinic provides. On the day of the treatment you definitely feel uncomfortable so I spent the rest of the day resting at home to avoid any risks. A day after I feel absolutely fine and can see really well. Thank you so much! It’s a really big deal for me to have had this treatment and will definitely make my life a lot easier, especially with my small daily tasks from the moment I wake up!

I had LASEK eye surgery on the 29th January 2021 at Optical Express in Harley Steet and have regretted it ever since. I constantly have pain in both my eyes and have told them multiple times but have been ignored on the severity of my issue and my pain. I have been recommended to put hot towel on my eyes and wash with warm water or put eye gels on but this does nothing. I wake up multiple times during the night to put the eye gel on as my eyes feel like sand paper, stick together like I’ve shut them with super glue and that’s just during the night. During the day I have blurry vision, I see everything mixed and am in constant pain. My life has been destroyed, my work life has been destroyed and I wish I never had this surgery WITH THIS COMPANY as their after care is terrible. Everyday my vision and pain is getting worse and they do not care at all. I have been to see them multiple times and I feel less heard and cared about every time. They are not experienced, they do not know what they are doing and they will send you away with generic answers. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR EYES. They will leave you in pain, RUIN your vision and do NOTHING about it. Aman Larijani - you have my contact details.

Had a bad experience today here with the desk staff Misbah and Aminah. Judging from other reviews here I can see other people have had similar experiences. I hope Optical Express know they are loosing business, I will not be returning. This is not what you expect from a business on Harley street

The customer care at Optical Express has been brilliant. The procedure was quick and easy and within 24 hours I could see as clear as if I was wearing contacts. I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts for 10+ years, so this is always something I have wanted to do, but I was worried about finding the right clinic. I am so glad I chose Optical Express. I had my initial consultation at Eastcheap, the surgery in Harley Street and a check up in Shaftesbury and the staff at all three clinics were lovely, especially Aminah. It’s a big deal to get this done and it’s comforting to know you are in such safe and supportive hands. I would definitely recommend.

The whole experience from the very first phone call to the moment I walked out from my follow up appointment has been nothing but professional, pleasant and polite. Everyone explains everything in detail and you feel at ease at all times. Laser eye surgery was a life changing procedure for me and I could see properly as quick as the day after the procedure. Attended for a laser consultation in Harley Street due to being fed up constantly wearing contact lenses and glasses. Always wanted to consider laser due to friends having it done also. The consultation was great from start to finish. The staff were really friendly and did all the checks and explained what each machine is used for. I had an amazing consultation today at Optical Express Harley Street. Osa took such good care of me and made sure I felt at home. She was very welcoming, helpful and informative. If I could give a million stars I would! The receptionist was very helpful and I barely waited a minute to get in my consultation. Beata was whit me in the interview and first part part of the consult, she is highly knowledgeable and clarified all my questions promptly, plus she have a awesome personality, what made the whole process much more enjoyable.The second half of the process was done by Aman who did it in a very professional way and she delivered the good news and explained the LASIK process which is the one I will do. Overall very good experience, very straightforward, plus the clinic was super neat! If anything they deserve a raise xD

Worst mistake of my life. Spent over £5000+ for iDesign LASIK laser eye surgery, and I’ve been left with suboptimal vision. They promised 20/20 vision or your money back guaranteed. My vision is not 20/20, I cannot read a license plate from 20 metres clearly. I have stopped going for follow-ups now as they constantly tell me my eyesight IS 20/20, but my eyes are just dry so the vision is not sharp. It just excuse after excuse with them. My treatment was very poor from start to finish at the Shaftesbury Avenue branch, especially AFTER they had received my money. I had over 5 appointments cancelled at short notice, within the space of 2 - 3 months. There are only 1 or 2 friendly ophthalmologists there, so i transferred to Harley Street instead. The receptionist are much friendly, but the treatment itself is just as poor. I complained to head office about the treatment and what I was not happy with. What did they do? They just sent me photocopies of my consent forms, even for questions I was not asking about! I will be taking all of this further, but if you are looking to get laser eye surgery I would look elsewhere (Optimax, London Vision Clinic etc)

I have just had my 3 month Post-Op following my Lasik with iDesign, with Mr Mughal. Aside from some ongoing issue with dry eyes (expected), I am very happy with the results. I had most of my care at Harley Street with one post op appointment at Shaftsbury Avenue. I have to say I have been very happy with the care I have received, from start to finish. Thank you to Tasnia Uddin, who was my adviser when I went for my first consultation, who was patient and not at all pushy. Parmdeep the Optometrist at Harley St was excellent in my initial consult doing the testing and even having a second phone call with me to discuss my concerns. Mr Mughal was very nice on the day of the surgery and did a skilled job. Since the surgery, the experienced optometrists have been helpful and diligent. The dry eye issue has been taken seriously and they are continuing to follow me up, going above and beyond. I am a clinician myself so I understand that side effects of treatments can happen at random, and it is no ones fault, and luckily my dry eye symptoms are minimal. I saw another Optometrist at Harley Street on Fri 13th at 9am (forget her name sadly, maybe Shubana?) who was brilliant if creating a follow up plan. Thank you for the great care at an affordable price, Optical Express - I would definitely recommend you. My ONLY criticism is actually the staff in the head office, who I assume are customer service based/ had no medical training. THEY were quite off putting as they would call an excess amount of times (prior to me agreeing to the surgery), and one I signed up, often with incorrect information (relating to admin aspects) or postponing appointments and at one point even changing my surgeon date/time with no explanation. HOWEVER, do not let their incompetence put you off, as the clinical teams in the actual clinics are excellent, and every time this happened, I would speak to them, and they would quickly sort it all out, with no fuss and professionalism (shout out to Aminah and again, Tasnia). Thank you Optical Express! If I could name all the fantastic staff there who treated me I would, but I can't remember them all!

Recently had a laser eye surgery consultation and I must say the staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Especially Rakhee who makes you feel very comfortable throughout the whole process and was incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions. I can't speak for the surgery itself yet but the consultation was a very pleasant experience.

I've just had my LASIK iDesign surgery at this branch of Optical Express. I can honestly say I have been thoroughly looked after by the excellent staff here from start to finish. Robert took care of all my scans during the first consultation and his enthusiasm was contagious (literally, cos I ended up booking LASIK there and then!). I met with Reiza a few times as well and he was so caring and you could tell he is passionate about his work, an absolute pleasure! Halima on reception was always welcoming, friendly and super helpful with booking the next appointments. Sejal a star Optometrist with a wealth of knowledge. There are so many people whose names I've awfully forgotten (ya'll really need a whole "get to know our staff" website page, the surgeons are obviously fab but it is truly the whole staff that make the experience). The nurses who put me so at ease, the other optician who did my post care consultation (I am so sorry - you were lovely!!), the lovely clinicians who went through my after care... I can honestly say there wasn't a single person who wasn't genuinely caring and helpful. Thank you Harley Street!

My experience with the consultant was extremely bad. The male asian looking was extremely pushy, and initially, refused to even conduct a consultation if i would not pay the 500 pound deposit. I had to insist for it to be done, then he was very persistent in me paying there and then although i insisted that i need to think about it, then at the end of the consultation, he was still insistent and when i asked for the documents, he insisted they would be available should i return. Honestly his customer service was pushy and rude. Sadly i was interested but after his persistence on paying rather than the health of my eyes i will not. The rest of the people were good and fine

When I woke up one morning experiencing flashing lights and floaters in my right eye I was able to get an appointment to see an Optician that morning. I went to the Harley Street branch and was seen straight away and received excellent care. The tests were carried out with professionalism but also reassuring me. I was then seen by the optician who quickly assessed my condition as a posterior vitreous detachment and reassured me that despite the short term effects to the sharpness of my vision I had nothing to worry about. I was able to go to work, reassured that both my eyes had been thoroughly examined by professionals. Really impressed with the whole unexpected experience.

I would like to say my experience on 12 October at the Harley Street Clinic was beyond excellent. Optical Express after care service is wonderful - they don't just take your money, they follow up; they're easily contactable and very nice to deal with on the phone and in person. After years of debating laser eye surgery I finally booked in with Optical Express. I spoke to Osa when I made my appointment and then saw her for my initial consultation. She was an absolute delight, we laughed a lot and she put me at ease about the surgery. I am now a week post surgery and whilst eyes are still a bit “gritty”, I can see perfectly and I’m so glad I did it. I had the most positive consultation experience at Optical Express London Harley Street! It started with a friendly call from Saadia to confirm my appointment and explain what to expect at the clinic. On my visit, I met Osa who guided me through the extensive eye tests and clearly explained what each of the 5 machines measured. Next, Amandeep performed further examination on my eyes and reviewed my options. At each step, I felt reassured and confident that my best interests were paramount. Amandeep presented all the facts for me to decide how to proceed without any sales pressure. I greatly appreciated that everything was clearly explained, so that I would not have any unrealistic expectations from the procedure. When I am ready for eye surgery, there is no question that I will go to Optical Express!

The service at Optical Express was extremely good! From being welcomed in , to every step that i had to take before going for my consultation was exceptional! Robert took the me for pre tests / explained briefly the types of laser etc he was a lovely man made me comfortable and not too nervous about the information regarding laser eye surgery! You know when they say someone has good vibes? Robert had that! He was kind and patient ( i had lashes on so some of the tests took longer 🤣 ) but he didn’t mind he made jokes and was happy! I had Lasek surgery 5 weeks ago and I am very happy with my experience with Optical Express. The staff did not put any pressure on my during my initial consultation and were very thorough with all the checks. I would definitely recommend them.

Never seen more unprofessional place then this, went in for Laser eye consultation but I guess it’s never meant to happen when you have Manger like Priti Patel who can not manage a place. When I got in I could hear that they are an hour behind their schedule and rather then informing me that running late on schedule, they made me wait for 22mins. My appointment was at 4pm, I was spoken to by the manger at 4:22 and she said their running an hour late I am like ok at least i will be seen at 5pm when I have already waited almost half an hour. But she goes it’s hour from now which will take 5:22pm which clearly they didn’t won’t me then because they close at 5:30 and my consultation is for an 1hr. I think company like this is very pathetic - if they weren’t the best in laser eye treatment I would have gone somewhere else. Tbh I am not even interested anymore. When you have unprofessional people in the business it doesn’t really give me confidence to curry out my eye surgery

I had my eyes done at Harley Street for Lasik, and had to have another procedure to flatten the flap on the left eye. It's totally worth it to see again. It was definitely nerve racking but the staff were so incredible and kind that it was overall a great experience. My eyes are still healing but I can already see better. In particular, Paul was absolutely incredible. He was clear, calming and explained things in a way that made them simple and less terrifying. Thanks to him, I was able to get the second procedure, and get both eyes sorted and feeling better. Paul is honestly one of the best people I've met, absolutely amazing at his job, and really helped me through the whole process. My check up is in a month, but I'm already feeling better. Paul is an absolute hero! And I would highly reccomend this clinic and procedure.

I had laser eye surgery here very recently (june 2021) the staff were very welcoming and made me feel at ease as much as possible. Mr. Ghabra carried out the procedure for me and I could have asked for it to go any smoother. Thank you so much for taking care of me!!

Disclaimer: I didn't have surgery. I was considering laser eye surgery and contacted Optical Express. After the initial telephone call they organised a consultation. Everything was very smooth and quick. The lady on the phone explained everything and was very helpful. Then everyone I met with at the consultation was polite and professional. I explained my concerns and fears about the surgery. They assured me that it is very safe and said that they guarantee 20/20 vision or your money back! After the consultation, all my concerns were addressed and I most definitely would have gone ahead with the surgery. However, I have a lazy eye and the optometrist advised that although the risk is small, she would not feel comfortable exposing my one good eye to risks and recommended I don't go ahead with surgery. I really appreciated their honesty and I think this goes against a lot of the reviews saying they are a conveyor belt company that only cares about sales and money. I got a free eye test and health scan out of it so can't complain!
