Best Pizza in the state! And definitely the best restaurant in Skowhegan Area! Update: I still stand by this, I come here so often due to the amazing customer service and outstanding fresh product. Always delicious, always fantastic staff service!

I've been eating here since I moved to the area in the early 80's and I've never had a bad meal here. They have excellent pizzas & sandwiches plus they have stuff for dessert like whoopie pies & donuts. You can dine in or take out. I highly recommend Al's Pizza!

pizza was good, plain pie, half mushroom half sausage pie. no garlic powder at table, had to ask counter for some.

Pizza was meh. My kids shared a 10” cheese and my husband and I shared a pepperoni and mushroom. I was very surprised to find that the mushrooms were canned which basically means they had little to zero flavor. Disappointing :(

Great food. Great customer service. Only issue is food isn’t being cooked long enough. Once they turn the ovens up or see the NEW employees stop pushing the pizza Forward I think it’ll be better tasting pizza. Only been buying sandwiches due to this issue.

Been coming here since I was a kid. And the food is great. Many different varieties of pizza (love the breakfast pizza and the Buffalo chicken pizza). My only complaint is that they don't make bigger sized pizzas. And yeah they do make good sized pizzas, but I wouldn't mind getting one larger than what's on the menu. Other than that: fantastic overall.

Great place to eat or get takeout. Prices may seem a little high but the food is well worth it. Really great quality food. Also staff is always nice. Even with a line of people waiting they are normally very quick to get you your food too.

As a customer: I've had pizza from this place on multiple occasions and it's decent. Not amazing, but pretty good. The breakfast pizza is where it's at, that's pretty dang good if we're being honest. The restaurant atmosphere is okay, plenty of seating. The bathroom isn't top quality nor the cleanest. The staff are a hit and miss attitude-wise. I can't really complain, but I cant really praise either. As an employee: I worked here in 2018 for about a month before I'd had enough. I would not recommend working here to anyone. Training is short and inadequate which may explain the inconsistencies stated in other reviews. Employees are trained by other staff members who are nice at first and then suddenly become rude and unapproachable. It seems to be made up of "cliquey" young people who care about nothing besides themselves. I was constantly put on cleaning duty and they had the audacity to wonder why I wasn't getting it. I was told that it wasn't working out by the manager who was never around to understand WHY. I finally decided to just quit entirely instead of trying to explain something to someone who wasn't there to address the issue anyways. In conclusion, I believe that this place needed a lot more professional management and better training. I hope that they have since gotten a new manager who actually engages in their employees' training and concerns. If they can keep it consistent and possibly improve the atmosphere, they'd be doing a lot better. Not a bad place, decent food, just got some room for improvement.

Best pizza and sandwiches in Central Maine. Best whoopie pies too. They do not skimp on their ingredients. Family owned and operated.

Al's Pizza in Skowhegan has been our go to place for Pizza, Italians, Salads and of course Whoopie Pies for at least 30 years! A big thank you goes out to the crew for making us happy 😊

Worst steak and cheese I’ve ever seen in my life. Take some pride in your food. Your could at least melt the cheese or cook the peppers and onions

Bad night for manager in charge tonight I guess. I simply asked if my food was in in oven because I was on min 25 of my “10 min” wait. Didn’t think his back talk stating “it takes time to cook” was appropriate. I completely understand if busy but no need to tell me 10 when it’s going to be 30 minutes and then give me an attitude about it. Normally have good service here. I guess I’ll keep it prior to 7pm once I decide to go back

Pizza is a little bit pricey for the area but I cannot complain on the flavor and the taste It was definitely a great pizza and maybe it's because I had a specialty pizza which may have made it cost a little bit more than average. But since I eat pizza 2 days a week as I travel across the country I've got a pretty fair assessment on pizzas prices and what I would expect from pizza place. Once again though it was a very good pizza.

This place has gone seriously downhill in the past few years. Orders are always wrong foods undercooked and just slapped together and the prices are way above what their quality speaks for. 12/21/23 Another bad order, after making two trips to pick up a large business order and my own order getting lost and not even made I cancelled it and went hungry - Rather than make a THIRD trip to pick it up. Next time the office orders from Al's, I'm gonna go to West Front!
