Lovely park with lots of things to see and do. There's a little free zoo with native Swedish animals. You can ride a pony for 20sek and a couple of sights that include an old water tower and a small house. There a couple of small lakes and plenty of places to eat and drink. Can easily spent 3 hours there I'd you want to see everything it has to offer.

A great place to visit for a day out as a solo traveller as I was, or for groups of friends or families. There is something for everyone here. The park is very big, so plenty of things to see and walks to be done. I was aware there were animals at the park but was pleasantly surprised to find seals, penguins, (you can get super close to these) also moose and other general farm animals. There are wide open areas for picnics, volleyball courts and cafes dotted around to stop for food and drinks. The landscape is a mix of planned nature and natural nature and is a lovely place to see.

Greenery at it's best in well maintained enclosure yet no less than a forest, nice place for a picnic. Neighbouring natural history museum and zoo is a plus especially with kids... to spend a splendid day with loads of fun...

Great place to go out and chill, relax, go for a run/walk. Enjoy the nature, also you can sip a cup of coffee or have an ice-cream. Best place to go out when the sun is out and shining. You can relax on the grass or enjoy any of their food outlets. Also you can play mini-golf. The area is really huge so you can easily spend your whole day their. They have multiple entrance, I generally use the entrance from Linneplatsen side as it's right next to the bus/tram stop.

This is the best place in all of Sweden. You get to see cute little seals, penguins, and moose for absolutely free. The park is absolutely stunning, the staff are so friendly and professional and keen to share their vast knowledge about the animals they care for. I recommend the seal feeding at 2pm. Such fun and educational.

Slottskogen is a wonderful, free, public park located along Dag Hammarskjöldsleden traffic route in Gothenburg. It’s an enormous park, and it’s easy to spend hours here. We visited during early November and the park looked really lovely in autumnal colours particularly on crisp, chilly days. There are a lot of trails and opportunities to see different animals, from seals to penguins. I’d strongly recommend a visit to this beautiful park in Gothenburg!

I just love this park there are plenty of walking roads and a green area to sit outside and enjoy when the weather is good. Small zoo for the kids, mini golf, playground for kids and another for the dogs. Enough of the coffee shop and public bathroom. Easy to be reached with public transport

It's an amazing place. I've been there with my daughter, she is 14 and was really interested and we know how hard is find something interesting for teens 😉 sometimes was really sad because this place is like a huge cemetery but we hope these animals were already dead, no one killed them on purpose. We had an opportunity to see many animals that we would never see in our life, we were very surprised that some of them were really big or that butterflies can have so many colors.

This park is really worth a visit, especially “Älghägnet” where you can see lots of animals that look well cared for. Everything was clean and organized, it was good for walking and exercising, but it is also surrounded by good works of local architecture. The park also looks great to enjoy a sunny day with friends at a picnic or playing some sport. I went as a tourist and I think it's a must see.

Todella ihana paikka vaikkapa lapsiperheelle viettää aikaa. Lapsille hienot leikkipaikat ja pieni ja ILMAINEN eläintarha, jossa pääsee rapsuttelemaan esim. vuohia ja pupuja. Ravintoloita löytyy isoon ja pieneen nälkään.

A very beautiful park with a zoo. You can go for walking, running or go for a stroll in the midst of nature. You can see Moose 🫎, Snake Geese 🦆, Fallow Deer 🦌 and many more animals in the zoo. It also has many cafes inside. There is also a pony ride for kids but do check the timings before visiting.

A great park to enjoy with the best in life. You can do picknick's. Enjoy ice cream go on a guide tour with a train. Or just site in the grass. There's a really nice and big playground here to. Or just feed the birds in one of all water areas.. It is something for everyone here.

Everything was wonderful except of the penguins, they seemed so sad and trapped in that place. Reindeer also seemed he had a hurt leg or something, he was walking slowly and carefully... Anyways to us humans it can be a wonderful place for a bike ride or a walk ... I'm not sure about the animals ...even though I was thankful to be so close to some of the animals there.

Very nice and big park centrally located. Includes a children petting zoo, natural history museum and a small zoo with a wide range of animals local to Sweden (Including moose!). Probably the easiest way to see a moose in Sweden. All 3 are completely free. Several options for coffee, food and snacks in one of the serveral cafes.

Next to the park is the Naturhistorik museum. A huge collection of animals, shells, rocks (even meteorite), insects and fossils. You can eat here and the museum shop is an incredible place to find some treasures for your home. The museum isn't he perfect place to make a great trip with kids because it is within a few minutes walk from the minigolf area in front of the park. The entry is free. If your kids aren't tired after this, you can take a walk through the park (eat ice cream and see a lot of animals).

First time I see (and probably only time, since this one seems to be the only specimen of) a dissected whale!! I have no idea walruses were so big! There's also a model of a now extinct animal As usual, you will come out of this place knowing a lot more than what you did before you came in. You'll also probably see 45 birds you hadn't seen before. Beautiful selection and excellent organization. I'm not a huge fan of insects, so I just went really quickly through that section, but I enjoyed the rest quite a lot. Obviously, extra points for the stegosaurus 💜

  • 4/5 Eva S. 3 years ago on Google
I love museums of natural history anywhere, so it's hard for me to give bad stars, but this museum feels very outdated. We were there last weekend and they closed the whale room for renovation, that's probably a good idea although we were disappointed because I heard that was the main attraction of this museum. That said, they have a very extensive collection of birds!!! It's crazy how much (preserved) birds they have on the 2nd floor. I'm a bird lover so it's fascinating for me to see all these. Will recommend to anyone who is curious about nature and want to learn more

  • 5/5 Jaime L. 3 years ago on Google
It worths the visit! I was looking forward to seeing the insects collection and really enjoyed it (very varied, with insects from Sweden and the rest of the world), but the bird collection is even more amazing. I also think that it is a nice place to enjoy with your children, so they can learn the biodiversity that surrounds us and, therefore, appreciate and protect it since the beginning of their lifes. I strongly recommend it!!
