One of the most scenic landings in the world is at Amata International Airport on Majuro Atoll. It appears you are going to land right in the middle of the ocean, but instead touch down on a narrow strip of land just wide enough for the plane. The airport itself is pretty simple. One outdoor room for checking in, a small restaurant, and the transit lounge. It would probably be a 4-star airport, but I am deducting 1 star for the ridiclous $20 departure tax. Please work this into the ticket price!!!

It's your basic topical island airport. Looks rundown, but otherwise operates fairly efficiently. United is the big carrier here linking the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia to Honolulu and Guam with their Island Hopper service. The gate area is gets pretty warm, but there is at least a snack bar past security. Just remember, the $20 departure tax is not included in the price of your ticket and you have to pay it in cash.

「Welcome to the Marshall Islands : Friendliest People in the Pacific」I am anxious for the end of Covid-19 and the return of the free sky.

Landed here to take fuel on our way over the Pacific. The service was primitive but very acceptable.

Located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, only landing for refueling aircraft From Seattle to Biak, Immigration and Customs Officers are very friendly in checking the completeness of documents, unfortunately only a few moments, after that fly back

Nothing wrong with this place. In many ways it is a lot better than HNL: short walks to get around, convenient concession stands (check out the spam rice ball at The Hanger), pleasant and efficient personnel and comfortable seating. Not much congestion in the air or on the ground so flights are typically right on schedule. The fire trucks greet all the planes so don’t be concerned when you see it after you land.

The airport is very simple. Immigration was a breeze, you just need to be polite and ready with your answers and documents. Overall, they are very welcoming and cheerful.

Free wifi! Immigration process upon arrival can be quite slow, hot and stuffy. Depending on the time of day but it’s breezy elsewhere throughout the building Restaurant/cafe and a store are also available inside the airport. I wouldn’t recommend using the men’s toilet

If this your first time departing on United from Majuro, a few tips: - Arrive at the airport AT LEAST 2 hours early. Check in is slow, and they manually inspect every checked bag for prohibited items. The check-in counter closes at least an hour before the flight. - There is a cafe with local fare food and drinks adjacent to the check-in area. - To get your boarding pass, you have to pay a stamp duty of $25 at a desk near security. - When you see everyone going towards security, follow them. You should go through security and immigration at least an hour before departure. - The gate waiting area has a small snack bar with food, water, and alcohol.

If you haven't flown into an island style airport before, you're in for a shock. The runway takes up most of the width of the island, and there are no jetways here. Boarding and deplaning takes place on an outdoor ramp. Then, you pass through the immigration windows. The luggage is delivered to a covered area: no moving conveyor belts here, and then you pass through customs. Taxis are available, but it's easier to arrange a ride beforehand. When leaving, you'll want to arrive early because they have to check everyone in before they open up the security checkpoint to let you into the departure lounge. I usually get there three hours before the flight, which gives me a little time to browse the gift stalls and have a drink at the bar or a cup of coffee. International departure fee is $25. In theory, you can pay with a credit card, but the machine is slow and unreliable so plan on cash. The addition of free WiFi in the terminal and on the tarmac is quite welcome.

Probably one of the worst airports I've been to but then again it is a 3rd world country receiving US government aid. While flying on MD-500 helicopters the controllers dont really answer when you come in to taxi nor do they let you know when an aircraft is inbound.

Friendly staff and free fast wifi. Important to arrive early as the seating before security is limited and have to wait till the scanners are open. There are souvenir shops before and after security, in addition to a refreshment shop after security. Airport charge is USD25.
