Definitely one of our most memorable vacations ever was the week we spent on Bikendrik Island! I love to visit far-away islands, and was inspired to visit the Marshall Islands after reading about the global warming crisis and how it is affecting them. Since it's not a booming tourist destination, I had a hard time finding a nice hotel, but I stumbled upon the listing for Bikendrik. I'm so glad that I went for it! Many people dream of living on a private island. Well, now you can see what it might really be like, but without ALL the rough edges. Susi and Lutz provide a wondrous oasis of culture and class in the middle of nowhere! Dinner is spectacular - as fine as you could find in any top city in the world - and you have the beautiful lagoon to snorkel and swim in all to yourself. If you stay more than a couple of days, you will probably give up on bothering to wear clothes by day 3 or 4. It is that private! The hermit crabs all over the island are super cute, and it's fun to watch the tide roll in and out. The only other people you will see are Susi and Lutz, and perhaps their helper. Their company and conversation is definitely a highlight of the experience. Such adventures they've had! There is probably not another place quite like this with hosts like this in the world. Totally unique experience. We hope to return again someday!

This is a very special place. With a very special hostess. The location is superb. A small private tropical island in a remote region of the Pacific Ocean. Palm trees swaying in the breeze, the sea a fantastic ever changing palette of blues, and the background roar of breakers on the nearby reef. A perfect place to get away from it all and touch base with the elements. Susie is a wonderful hostess and a fabulous cook. One feels like royalty. Silverware, cut glass, and fine china set off the tastefully presented meals. The day starts with a pot of hibiscus tea delivered to your cabin verandah. Breakfast highlights include home made croissants and bread rolls, and coddled eggs. Lunch is taken outdoors under a shady pandanus tree. And the evening starts off with cocktails at seven on the verandah of Susie's house, followed by more mouthwatering dishes for a 3 or 4 course dinner, depending on ones appetite. A short walk under the stars and you are back at your cheerful beach cabin. Crisp white sheets and a good mattress await. Finally a perfect day ends with a peaceful and contented good nights sleep. This place is hard to beat. If you get the chance to stay here you will have an unforgettable experience.

We heard about this place through social media. After arrival, my other half and I were greeted with the most welcoming host. We were astonished to see antique furnitures and decor throughout the resort. The scenery was full of life, and the food was something you could never forget. As the host said, the food was made with magic. As for the rooms we felt like we were in paradise. At first, we were concerned that it would be a hot night due to no AC or Fans. But then we would soon find out that it wasn't necessary, because it was surprisingly cool, and breezy. I would like to thank Susanne and her wonderful hospitality, staff (Penny), and joyful dogs (Her family) for such a great experience. If you're looking for a getaway with someone you care about. Please visit Bikindrik and give Susanne the same joy we shared with her, it was a short lived stay but a memorable one that we'd visit again. Stay safe.

To stay at Boutique Resort Bikendrik Island is more than you can imagine of a idyllic island in the Pacific. After our boat ride to the private island, we were warmly greeted on arrival by hosts Susi and Lutz. We knew immediately we were going to have a memorable time. Our six-day stay was in the beach house with a deck right to the water. It was well-appointed and very comfortable. There were two lounge chairs and two deck chairs outside the double glass doors that invited reading a good book from Susi and Lutz's library or admiring the dreamy view of the lagoon where we watched the sunset each evening. Cognac is provided in the room to enjoy while watching the stars that are brighter than we've seen anywhere else. The beach house had plenty of room and a sitting area with large wicker chairs to relax before a restful sleep in the bed which was turned-down each evening. The bathroom was supplied with all the amenities from large towels to fragrant soaps, Bvlgari shampoo and moisturizing cream. We especially enjoyed using the outdoor shower just steps from the back door, surrounded by large plants, and supplied with plenty of hot and cold water. The refrigerator was stocked with beverages from water to beer and a variety of juices. The air was always fresh with a breeze blowing from the ocean behind to lagoon out front. We found the warm, blue water of the lagoon to be crystal clear. As we snorkeled around the coral reef just off shore, multi-colored fish swam all round us. Walking around the 3.5 acres island we realized there's a lot to be discovered. The many palm trees and green grass everywhere complemented the island paradise. Lutz treated us one afternoon to a fresh coconut he cracked open from one of the trees. On the north side, the waves of the Pacific ebbed and flowed, which created a soothing sound at night lulling us to sleep. The food was incredible! We were treated to three meals daily. Each morning would begin with warm baked muffins and hibiscus tea freshly brewed with flowers from the garden and brought to the beach house. Later we were treated to breakfast on the veranda of the main house overlooking the manicured grounds, which included freshly made breads and croissants with honey and marmalade, cooked eggs served in beautifully decorated egg coddlers, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee. Mid-day we were served a light lunch then in the evening after a cocktail and conversation, a delicious 4-course dinner was served. Our stay came to an end all too soon. However, we are looking forward to another visit next year. Update: We Didn’t Stay Long Enough the First Time The first time we visited Bikendrik was September of 2017 for six days. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we returned in January, 2018 for 10 days. We are planning to go once again in September. The beauty of Bikendrik calms the soul. Susi, our host, ensured that we were in good hands by taking care of everything we needed: from the amenities in our beach house room to the fantastic and elaborate Cordon Bleu style dishes served each day with care. Susi takes pride in providing first-class accommodations and leaves no detail to chance. The setting takes care of the rest. Bikendrik is a quiet, private island where the only sounds one hears are the rhythmic waves from the lagoon off the deck lapping at the shore and the refreshing breezes from the ocean rustling the palm trees. In addition, there’s a choice of an indoor shower or one outside nestled among foliage blooming with colorful flowers. With a setting like this, when our day came too quickly to leave, we could only depart completely relaxed and ready to plan for our next return.

We have been to Bikendrik Island twice. You can find my full reviews with photo's on Trip Adviser. This is a bucket list type of experience!!! We can't wait to return. Susi and Lutz have found paradise and are willing to share it. My advise, take advantage of it while you can!

wow...I wanna visit once in my life 😍

I chose to stay in Bikrendrik because I'm a bit of a hotel snob. I am on a journey visiting every country in the world, and after traveling to 125+ countries, I've slept in a lot of hotels! When researching where to stay in the Marshall Islands, Reimers got poor online reviews from many guests, so I opted for something different. As there's not much in downtown Majuro near the Reimers, I chose another option ... to stay in a highly unusual place: on a secluded island with consummate hosts Suzy and Lutz Kayser. Note: I walked around Reimers, and it was ok; reminded me of a 2-star roadside motel in the States, but nowhere near as bad as described online (try to score one of the 2 oceanfront units). After a 25 minute boat ride from the Reimers dock, the Kaysers gave me a warm welcome and showed me to my lovely oceanfront lodge at the edge of the lagoon. The accommodations were crisp and clean; island-chic. The queen bed was heavenly. Bathroom was exceedingly clean, complete with an indoor and outdoor shower. But the real attraction was the deck overlooking the tranquil waters. I sat for hours mesmerized, a luxury I don't normally have! The food ... ah ... the food. all cooked by Suzy, was EXTRAORDINARY! Think 5 stars here. fresh croissants, struedel, fresh tuna, parrot fish, out-of-this world desserts, I just can't say enough about the quality of what I was served for all meals. Suzy's husband Lutz and I ate many of our meals together, and he, Suzy and I had numerous conversations about their fascinating lives, and many other topics. I went snorkeling around the island's reef, and then went diving with Hiro, the island's finest dive operator. The waters were clear, the fish were plentiful, and if I ever come back I hope to go to Bikini and Mili. Overall, I loved my time at Bikrendik, and both the Kaysers and I were sad to say goodbye. The island is inhabited with wild dogs. The problem is that the dogs attack you at all costs. The rooms are horrible, they have holes everywhere over the walls. Rats come in, smacking everything off the shelves, and running around all night. Plus, the shower is filled with insects and no hot water at all! The wifi is horrible, the electricity goes out, no air conditioning, your bed turns into puddles from sweat, it's hot, and the toilet doesn't flush. The service is bad they offer drinks when you drink them. They take your drinks only the next day. They treat you like you came for free. Even though it costs 1'000 dollars a night! Lastly, the location is fantastic. EDIT: Your reply has nothing to do with my review. But I'm not surprised because you were making up things back then and continue to fabricate facts now. It's better to spend time and effort upgrading tour falling apart property, then to dream up things. If you want to express your fantasies, you might want to write books. I'm sure you'll be much better at it than in hotel management.

We are 2 adults and 2 kids. Stayed here for 5 nights in October'22. Had 2 separate bungalows. 1. One of the bungalows had no hot water and non-flushing toilet all the time. The other one was better, but still not finished. 2. The rooms are pretty dirty, lots of dead and flying insects. Lots of mosquitoes throughout the day. Burning incense all the time - hence the burning smell. 3. No A/C, no fan, no wind. +30 degrees Celcius. You have to either sleep in your sweat or under a wet towel. 4. There are many gaps above the walls and no nets, so mosquitoes and mice can enter the room with ease. Any food you leave in the room disappeares overnight. 5. There's no lighting on the way from the owner's house (where you dine) to your bungalows. Have to have a flashlight. Otherwise you're risking to step into dogs poop or not finding your house. 6. There are 3 very aggressive stray dogs living on the property. They can enter your bungalow and they bark at you all the time. The owner says that the dogs are part of the hotel and if you don't like them, just get out. Our children have dog allergies, so they couldn't walk around. 7. The lady owner was very mean, because we didn't like her dogs. She couldn't and didn't bother to solve any issues. Her Filipino female helper was very nice, though. 8. The owner kicked us out of the hotel one night sooner, claiming the future storm, that didn't come. She provides lots of disinformation, we learned that a hard way. 9. The food was hit-or-miss. Some fabulous shakshuka mixed with instant noodles. 10. The location is gorgeous. Both the lagoon and the ocean side are just stunning. 11. You have to be very careful getting into water, because the ladder isn't stable and it has many rusty nails sticking out. If you are bored with your life, have a good stay here if you trust other reviews.

How does one explain in words one of the most magical places I've ever been to and get the full experience across to the reader? I'm not sure I'm a skilled enough writer to fully explain this in enough detail, so forgive me if after reading this you aren't booking a trip here this very minute. In short, the island is absolutely stunning. Just a quick boat ride from the dock at Majuro gets you to the complete seclusion that is Bikendrik. My Husband and I were greeted at the dock by two of the loveliest people I've had the pleasure to meet. Susanne, who owns the resort, and Twinkle, who helps run the day to day. That was it. No one else was staying on the island. There are the occasional day trip lunch guests that come over for a few hours to have lunch. We were blessed by a lovely couple and their friend that came over on our second day there. All meals are served on the deck of the main house. It was easily the most fun and delicious 3 days of meals I've ever eaten. Lunch and dinner start with a cocktail, and, if you're lucky, some stories from Susanne about her incredible life, (she is easily the most fascinating person I've met to this date). Meals are multi-course and accompanied by wine, and they are some of the best meal I've eaten. Perfectly seasoned, every meal, every course, every day. After dinner you get an aperitif and more time to soak in stories from Susanne. We used a local dive master and went out diving the second day. Hiro was amazing (I'm new to diving and still nervous), he was thorough and attentive. The diving is amazing, and the reef off the island is the best snorkeling I've seen. That sentiment was confirmed by the group of friends we brought back with us the following week for a day lunch trip before we had to fly out that evening. We had spent a week on another atoll for a surf trip and couldn't stop talking about our experience at Bikendrik. One of our party set up the lunch day trip for us on our way out of the Marshall Islands after hearing us rave about the place for a week. When we asked them if we "over-sold" Bikendrik, there was a resounding "no way" from all nine of them. This is one of the last few private island gems left around that an average person can experience. If you're lucky enough to be anywhere near Majuro you would be remiss to not take advantage of this place. I unfortunately had to leave this oasis for my normal life, but I left with fond memories and hugs from two new friends. Thank you Suzi and Twinkle!!! Suzi, I will be back as soon as I can for another visit. Until then, thank you so much for being instrumental in the best trip of my life.

Exceptional hospitality, unique facilities

What a wonderful place to stay, surely the finest place to stay in all the Marshall Islands. Susanne is a wonderful host and has some incredible stories too. Everything is carefully thought out and each beach house has a delightful deck with views across the water. Snorkelling is fantastic just in front too. And then there's the food... I don't think I ate and drank so well anywhere else on my trip. This has to be the best place for food in the country! Everything is beautifully presented with silver and china and fine glass. If you're looking for high end luxury in the Marshall Islands then look no further.
