3/23/2022 So excited that I could have takeout dinner from Garden Island Cafe today! Called in an order to a friendly sounding lady for one order of egg rolls, one order Singapore noodles, one mini chicken cutlet no rice all mac salad, and one mixed plate with spicy pork eggplant and fried fish. In my experience, they're very flexible when it comes to making different combo plates and requests like all mac salad no rice. Awesome of them! It was ready when hubby went to pick it up and he said he didn't have to wait. All the food was packed neatly and my plate, which was the spicy pork eggplant and fried fish, was wrapped in plastic wrap so it wouldn't spill/leak. Then the boxes were in a cardboard box and they were taped down with masking tape. I love when a restaurant packs their food well! All food was delicious! Hubby said that the Singapore noodles were a little salty but good. I loved my spicy pork eggplant because the eggplant was exactly the texture that I like, not too firm and not super soft, and the sauce was tasty. This wasn't spicy at all, which was fine with me. The fried fish came with two big fillets, one on top of the other. It was crispy and not soggy and the fry mix coating had lots of flavor. Hubby tried to get me to make tartar sauce but it wasn't necessary because the fish was so tender and yummy! Garden Island Cafe never disappoints! Hope we can eat takeout from here again soon. 1/14/2022 Called in a takeout order for two mixed plates, one Hamburger Steak and Korean Chicken and the other, Salt & Pepper Pork Chops and Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings. It seems that they can make mixes of all their menu choices. Got there in about ten minutes and waited a little bit for both plates to be ready. We were the only customers as it was 5pm, early for dinner. Husband liked his Hamburger Steak and Korean Chicken and ate the entire plate! My pork chop was crispy without being dry and had lots of flavor. The Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings were tasty, a little spicy, and covered with chopped garlic. Garlic lovers would enjoy this! Both items were on a lot of crunchy cabbage with white rice and Mac salad. The Mac salad was a little too mayonnaisey for my taste but still yummy. I can make at least three more meals from my leftovers. They give a lot! And the total for the two plates was $24.35! We'll be back to try their other plates. They've got so many choices!

I came here because of the great Google reviews. I'll come back because of the food. Not knowing what to order I asked a local that came in behind me what was good. He said everything. Then perhaps realizing that was an overly broad recommendation, he said "Try the special". So I did. A chicken Katsu plate for about $8. Killer deal! Easily two meals for me. Tender, flavorful, juicy, crispy chicken. Two scoops of rice and Mac salad. The sauce I thought was a little sweet, but still tasty. In the words of a famous Austrian "I'll be back".

This place is my new favorite Chinese/local lunch spot. This should be at the top of your hole in the wall list.

This is the ultimate Cheap Eats! Gigantic portion for a mini or regular size plate lunch. The regular plate lunch you can easily break it down to a minimum of two meals... Maybe three! Highly recommended if you are in the area and don't got a lot of money. Majority of the regular priced plate lunch is under $12 😳😊

Family owned Cheap Eats hole in the wall restaurant that serves Local and Chinese food. Prices have adjusted due to the rising costs but you can still get Weekly Lunch Specials for $8.75 and All Day Specials for $9.75. Friendly counter lady that gives excellent customer service everytime i visit. Cant be beat these days, their plates are massive and usually dont fit in the food containers. Their Chicken Katsu, Cold Ginger Chicken and Korean Chicken are my faves. *Tip. Call in your order to avoid waiting since parking lot and restaurant can be busy at times*

Excellent prices with the 20% discount they run and they give a lot of food. They don't disappoint. We found this place couple years ago and have been going since. Very decent prices compared to other places.

I go here every weekend for the lunch specials. The plates are big, I can make one plate into two meals, my parents split it into 3. The $7.75 lunch special is available from 9:30-2:00, rotates between 2 dishes from a set of 6 every Monday. It's hard to be tempted away from the lunch special but the salt and pepper pork chops are amazing.

Small place with few tables but don't let that stop you from their delicious dishes. Shrimp was good size with lots of flavor and pork with eggplants was delicious. Also don't forget dessert, rice cake was one of the best I ever had. Fluffy and just sweet enough. Very friendly service!

Not only tasty, but huge portions, and they have weekly plate lunch specials. Service is friendly and efficient, and there's ample parking. They also cater and ask that you call at least 3 days ahead to place your order.

This was fantastic place. The staff was full of energy and helpful. The rice portions were large and very yummy. This place seems very popular among the locals. There was plenty of parking.
