Overall a nice hotel but a couple of issues. We were put in an accessible room which isn’t the nicest as the shower etc. is different and kind of cheaper feeling. There was mold in the shower and room cleaning was inconsistent so garbage piled up. The worst part was the breakfast. It was the same every day - when we checked in they said here’s the rotating breakfast menu, but then it was the same every day! Eggs and 2 types of sausages, waffles, toast, and rice. There were really limited options for a vegetarian and it was just kind of sad and gross. You had to ask for peanut butter they keep it in the kitchen for some reason. Usually Marriott breakfasts are pretty nice but this was the worst one I’ve ever seen, so kind of a letdown. There’s also a $30 per night charge for parking and a $30 per night destination fee. Overall it adds up and you’re better off just staying at a nicer hotel, this one is not worth the money.

This is a fantastic hotel. Our room was so nice and it was huge! The price was way less than other hotels around and it was so much nicer. They also had a free breakfast and it was shockingly a great breakfast. The location is good too, close to everything but in a more quiet part of town. I had to pay $30 for parking, which is why I knocked a star off. There is absolutely no reason why you should have to pay for parking at a location like this. Also, when we checked in they were having karaoke night. The common area/ lobby was super loud, and I thought that was a little weird but it didn’t bother us when we got to our room.

[Courteous only by words and housekeeping service available only 2 times a week with 4 hour cleaning window] UPDATE: spoke to the manager why I could not get my room cleaned on Thursday during regularly scheduled cleaning day. The manager said my room was not cleaned during the 4-hour cleaning window due to no request for cleaning. Come on Marriott, 4 hour cleaning window of which you clean only 2 days out of 7 days during vacation season? Is this true? Regardless, i am never coming back here, but be warned. Service here is almost non-existent unless you abide by the strict regular service window. There certainly is disregard from employees for guests who have non-regular requests such as cleaning outside of the 4 hour daily cleaning window and willing-to-pay to stay extra couple of hours due to sick child in bed, of all the instances which happens quite often for travelers with family members. I have stayed over 50 times at Residence inn at various parts of the world over more than 20 years, but this place at Hawaii Kapolei is by far the worst in terms of customer care. The front desk is courteous only by mouth and words. They seem like they care by words, but when things need attention, they go back to their "we only care about our priority members." I had a sick child and i asked repeatedly if we can stay an extra 1-2 hours on the day of check out (called at 5:19am to be exact and check out is at 11am), they basically told us we do not care enough to provide late check out as their priority members are only allowed late check out due to full booking. I understand that they need to provide preferential service for their "priority members," but if there is a need to provide care for guests in need who paid almost $400 per night for 4 nights with a sick child who will be flying 5 hours late in the afternoon, I should receive extra care instead of being provided with "unfortunately it is policy and only our priority members are allowed." I am not going to pay $200 (half day rate) to stay extra couple of hours when I can get a full night stay near the airport. You lost a customer who stays at Residence inn for all family vacations and some business trips over 20 years. This is not the first time I had issues with customer service at Residence Inn, but I endured because of convenience for families and having a full kitchen during a week-long business trip. Also, I am not sure why they do not have a full housekeeping staff during busy vacation season, but I had no housekeeping service for my entire 4 nights and 5 days stay here. I had to call the front desk each time I needed towels, toiletries, and trash pick up, and I had dirty bed sheets (from 3 beach trips and activities for 4 people), which was never replaced for the two queen beds and a sofa bed for my family. I intend to deal with this situation fully with Marriott corporate. Residence Inn at Kopolei, you need to do a better job of accommodating non-priority member guests and have ample operations to provide basic hotel service during your busiest vacation season. It does not matter if the facility is new and well cared for (I give 5 stars for facilities conditions), but operating a hotel service at $400 dollars a night should be MUCH better than this.

Thank you to Stephanie at the front desk who assisted our family in making sure we were comfortable after a fairly exhausting day! The hotel is clean, new, and provides a lot of fun things that we were not expecting. Karaoke and food trucks, as well as spacious rooms and complimentary breakfast. It was our first time staying here and we hope we can stay again. :)

Great stay. Staff is excellent. Some food trucks better than others. Breakfast is subpar but you have your own kitchen so it kind of trades off. Good location. Mostly quiet. We felt safe. I would definitely stay there again.

The space was amazing. It seems like everything is new. And there is a fresh smell to the hotel. So I really appreciate the fact that the place is clean and newer. Not to mention the rooms with kitchen living room bedroom and bathroom. It gives more of a home feel to it. The staff was really good they were very welcoming and professional. I am very grateful for that. The managers were very helpful and knowledgeable. This is a great place to stay and the location is great as well. Thanks!

By far the best managed hotel I've ever been in at this price point. Love the food trucks and nightly activities. Very very clean and well organized and communication is great. Staff is all top notch. Only stayed here because it was close to work location so not crazy about the location, but it's a great hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights while in the area for work. The room is very spacious and very clean and still feels brand new. Tons of parking in the back. Check-in was done very quickly and the front desk staff were very professional and informative regarding what the hotel offers and the surround area. Breakfast is included in the rate but the offering is only ok. I stay at the Embassy Suites next door as well and they offer 2x has much variety in the morning, especially if you like local food. Overall 4.8/5 and would stay again.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The location is close to things like Costco for gas/food and a Walmart and the fact that it's in the "burbs" instead of being in downtown Honolulu is an added plus (try driving or finding parking in Honolulu). The hotel is fairly new and the rooms were clean and well appointed. Most of the fees were to be expected, but paying for parking was a bit of a downer. This is still among the best values to be had; especially if you are more interested in every other place on the island that isn't Waikiki.

Room was dirty with small debris all over carpet which stick to feet and hair on towels. Was rejected a request for sleepers, after complaints to hotel staff no solution other than one night parking compensation was offered. Had to checkout and leave the property hour after check in, as no solution to clean the room was offered. If service quality and room tidiness is a value for you - highly not recommended this hotel.

Great hotel for temporary living. Great service and good location. But a parking fee and high deposit for dogs that's unrefundable. The free breakfast just ok. Activities during the week and entertainment weekly is great. Room was really clean and in great condition.

I wasn't happy about paying $30 per night for parking only to have to park on a dirt field across the street because the parking lot was being used for a festival. I thought that the festival could have used the field across the street instead. The room was great but if you like having house keeping not so good. We arrived on Thursday night and left on Monday morning. Never saw housekeeping. We were told upon arrival that there is no housekeeping Thursday through Monday but if we needed clean towels or anything just call the front desk and they would deliver it. That would have been alright but on Sunday we were out of toilet paper. I called the front desk at 7 a.m. who said they would send it shortly. I saw housekeeping in the hall as I passed by and thought ",good they're on their way". I went out for the day . Hours later I returned and no toilet paper. I went to the front desk and got it myself. The hotel was clean and friendly. Just plan on doing things yourself.

My wife's birthday party was celebrated there. The staff was excellent I mean they was on it. The food was catered. We had open bar the staff was there to make sure you had drinks they were walking around checking making sure everyone had something to drink. They walked to each table to make sure you had a drink or food. Very friendly Very helpful . There were about 5 big screen tops throughout the hall. With pictures of our OHANA. 3 guys were playing music and to my surprise they were really good. Thumbs up to the Marriott staff for making us feel like family. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a place to have an event no hesitation 👌🤙😉

Had my nieces graduation party there. We carter's available they had a spacious kitchenette across the hallway in the event area. Good seating and the staff was great. The event room is on the ground level by the pool, an outdoor seating area they corded off for us to use and restrooms there easy access. We had a great time. Good location to Makakilo up the road and Kapolei on a private lane near major roadway.

Bait and switch, unfriendly to disabled Veterans. I selected my military discount as one of my discounts. Upon arrival I was informed that discount is for military on orders only. Forced to pay the higher rate. Had I known this I we would have stayed elsewhere. Plus as a Titanium member we cannot even qualify for a higher floor having scheduled this vacation months ago! Veterans beware of the Bait and switch. Not an island paradise here. Hotel employees are kind and professional. Corporate office needs to be made aware property owners treatment of disabled Veterans. Update:. Local VFW Post 1540 has asked for more information on this treatment.

Residence Inn Kapolei has the best staff ever. Karaoke Sundays are always busy and fun. Awesome rooms and be on the look out for their full Moon Market events that happens every couple of months. The full Moon Market has 100s of vendors selling food and merchandise.

A great hotel experience. I stayed at Residence Inn for 9 nights, so really had a chance to see it in operation. Every single member of the staff — front desk, breakfast service, housekeeping staff, groundskeepers — were helpful, professional and so friendly. And the place is immaculate. Self parking is great; proximity to the highway makes getting around Oahu easy. I will stay here again.

Very nice Marriott property. The staff was kind and friendly. It was nice they had daily activities even though it didn't work out with our schedule. Obviously, the management has carefully trained their staff because the property was clean and well-cared for. Thank you for a nice stay!

We live less than 2 miles away and we love to have staycations here. When family is visiting from off island or from the US, we book multiple rooms so we can all enjoy each others company. We love this location.

This hotel is well maintained by friendly staff. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is delicious, and the pool area is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay outside of Honolulu.

We absolutely loved the location. There were food trucks there nightly which gave us the opportunity to support the local small businesses and try some amazing foods! The staff was beyond kind. We are a family of four and stayed in a one bedroom suite. It had a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator. It was perfect for us.

We stayed here for about five weeks. The service was excellent, the breakfast bar was Mandane, but it did the job. I was not happy that they charged extra for parking. The rooms were really nice. I’m not sure if we just got lucky but we had plenty of space in a one bedroom one bath, the pool was nice and you can’t beat this place for New Year’s Eve if you’re a local or flying in from another island. Very family friendly. The gym was also excellent.

This is a brand new hotel, everything is bright and clean! The staff were excellent and breakfast is free! The rooms were fantastic, but we really hate Marriott's open showers (no door). So cold when showering, and water gets all over the bathroom floor. There are food trucks just outside the hotel every night, and there are reoccurring activities like painting, karaoke, trivia, and live music at the fireside every week. Unfortunately, there is a mandatory $25 carbon offset fee which we weren't expecting to pay and should NOT be required to pay, and this hotel also charges $25+ tax every night for parking although we were not informed of this at check-in. One downside is that this hotel is roughly a 30-40 minute drive (or more) from most of Oahu's popular attractions. There isn't a lot in Kapolei.

Our recent stay was exceptional. Our room layout was perfect for a family of four. Being on the ground floor was very convenient. Their breakfast buffet was very delicious with excellent selections. It fueled us up for our daily adventures. The evening food trucks were a delightful surprise, offering a variety of delicious local flavors right at our doorstep. It was a convenient, tasty option especially after a day of exploring the island. What truly stands out was the quarterly community event hosted by the hotel. The thoughtful initiative not only showcase the hotel dedication to fostering a sense of community, but also allowing their guest to connect with the local culture. The event added a unique and rememberable touch to our stay. The spacious and well-appointed room, coupled with the friendly and accommodating staff made our experience truly enjoyable.

Our 1 bedroom apartment style room was very large and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was stocked nicely with glassware, dishes, silverware and some cookware. Our AC broke on our last full day in Hawaii and the maintenance technician Fritz went above and beyond in trying to get it fixed for us, plus his response was time was amazingly fast. He brought up a new unit 20 minutes before his quitting time because he wanted to make sure we had a good night's sleep. It's rare that I see that kind of commitment from a hotel employee but it's refreshing. He was also very cheerful and friendly. Unfortunately the new unit stopped working before the next morning. Also, the left elevator closest to the outside wall had problems. It made loud clicking noises and the doors would frequently not close all the way. We were afraid of getting stuck in it. My one other issue with this hotel is that there was a white truck with a cap on it parked 24/7 in the van access spot of the handicapped parking. It did not have a placard or handicapped license plate on it. When I brought it to the attention of the desk clerk, I got a blank look and they said they would look into it. The van access space is not a parking space. So if a customer comes in and needs to lower their wheelchair, they can't do it with this truck parked there. The truck was never moved during the entire stay. Shame on you Marriott for allowing this parking to take place on a daily basis on your property despite your warning signs of towing. It doesn't look good for your brand. If it's an employee, even worse.

I was blessed by a relative who paid for my stay. I was surprised by the entire atmosphere of the place. Everything from room service, breakfast, front desk, housekeeping, the pool area, live music, BBQ area was excellent.

Nice family hote. Room has stove, mic, dishwasher, sink. But stove has no light above it in my room & my shadow casts over the cooking area. Other than that good rooms, fridge dishes silverware included. Dishwasher tablets offered free, laundry $4.50 to wash & $4.00 to dry. Pool, food trucks, convenience stores close by within walking distances. Restaurants nearby too. Bathrooms are nice. Bed is not best I've slept on but no complaints. I use my own pillows. The ones provided seem fine.

This review about your system.stop spam! I recently embarked on a 14-day stay at the Marriott Hotel with my fiancé, hoping for a romantic and enjoyable vacation. However, I must express my deep disappointment with the overall experience, which has not only failed to meet my expectations but has also put our relationship at risk. Firstly, I received a spam voice message on the room phone. I was invited to the welcome center, only to find out that I had to provide my ID and credit card. The problem was, I had left everything except my phone in the room, so this created a major inconvenience for me. To add insult to injury, the hotel staff pressured me to download their app, which I found to be an unnecessary hassle and a significant source of stress. Instead of enjoying a romantic vacation with my fiancé, we ended up constantly arguing and getting closer to a separation. The hotel's lack of consideration for their guests' needs was truly disheartening. I must also mention the room itself, which was located in the basement. I sarcastically want to thank the hotel for assigning us a room that felt like a basement, because it perfectly matched the overall terrible experience. Furthermore, I want to address the Marriott IT specialist. Your app was filled with simple bugs that caused nothing but frustration and inconvenience. It's baffling that a hotel of this caliber would have such poorly developed technology. I strongly urge you to fix these issues immediately to avoid subjecting future guests to the same dreadful experience. Another significant problem that overshadowed our entire stay was the constant disturbance caused by overhead flights. The hotel is located in an area where flights frequently pass over, releasing fuel for safety landings. Unfortunately, this means that whenever we were outside, whether swimming or relaxing by the pools, we were subjected to the unpleasant experience of fuel dropping on us. This hazardous situation not only compromised our safety but also left us feeling incredibly uncomfortable and violated. Adding to the distress, the incessant noise from military flights exacerbated an already overwhelming atmosphere. The constant sound of aircraft roaring overhead became a persistent nuisance, making it impossible to find peace or enjoy a moment of tranquility during our stay. The lack of respite from this intrusive noise pollution only added to our growing frustration and disappointment. In conclusion, I would never recommend staying at the Marriott Hotel based on my horrendous experience. This vacation become in complete disaster, and I can only hope that by sharing my review, others will be spared from enduring the same ordeal. Suggestion - disconnect your room phone right away. Trust me, you don’t need their discounts.

We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Oahu Kapolei for one night. It was very clean and comfortable! The kitchen and shower room facilities were adequate. The location is far from downtown Honolulu, and access is inconvenient without a rental car, but it is located in a residential area, with a supermarket nearby and a quiet environment, so I would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing stay. I stayed only one night this time, but if I could have stayed longer, I would have been able to appreciate the quality of this residence even more.

I stayed here for both business and vacation. The hotel is clean very well kept. I ended up extending another 2 days. I was only disappointed that when I requested a room cleaning after my 4th day front desk refused, but room fee $350 night plus the outrageous additional taxes and fees is extreme!!!!!!!!! I had stayed there 6 days in total. Breakfast can be better it was the same thing everyday and for some reason no bread! Location is 30 plus minutes from Honolulu Airport, not many restaurants nearby or night life kind of secluded from activities. Mostly near residential facilities and homes. They have food trucks but it's always the same ones and quality of food wasn't good and price was a little high. The staff were friendly at beginning of my stay and housekeeping staff were always promt when I requested towels. Pool is small, parking can be difficult to find at times they charge $25 per night for parking which is ridiculous. Definitely not a hotel for vacation.

Updated Review. BREAKFAST: Marriott really improved their breakfast fare since I stayed in June of this year. It's now buffet style and the best offering are the waffles. They had banana and strawberry waffles during our stay. They also offered scrambled eggs, the odd tray of white rice, and typical breakfast meats. They still didn't offer breads. The coffee even tasted better - not great but drinkable this time. ROOM: The King bed suite was nice and spacious. But if you plan on doing a lot of snorkeling and need to air dry wet things, a balcony room is more convenient. Otherwise, you'll need to make use of their dryers which cost $4 (quarters only). The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook end eat with, including utensils, ceramic plates, knives, pots and pans. There was a tiny gecko living in the knife drawer but the kitchen is also stocked with sponges and dishwashing liquid to clean your cookware. There's also a dishwasher. Noise level was good. I could hear people through the walls but the people that stayed here aren't exactly partying in their rooms so it got quiet at night. SERVICE: Good. PARKING: There were always spots, even at night. LOCATION: Very convenient starting point to visit various parts of Oahu. Sbux, gas station, Cane's and a 7-Eleven are next door and there are various shopping centers within a few minutes driving distance.
